The state-of-the-art XENYX microphone preamplifiers represent a major step in the evolution of audio technology, and they can easily hold their own, even when compared to the most expensive standalone mic preamps. XENYX preamps offer a staggering 130 dB of dynamic range, with a bandwidth that extends from below 10 Hz to well above 200 kHz.

The studio-grade compressor is based on classic and famous studio equipment from the 70's. This totally transparent and musical compressor design allows your full dynamic range to shine through until your signal reaches the compression threshold, which is indicated by the highly visible status LED. The compressor increases sustain and gently smoothens out signal peaks, which is especially handy when you're laying down the funk or hammering home your most-aggressive metal lines.

The British consoles of the 1960s and '70s changed the sound of rock and roll. Without them, the British Invasion might not have happened. Those legendary mixing desks soon became the envy of engineers and producers all over the world. The channel EQ on the XENYX mixers is based on that very same circuitry, allowing you to imbue signals with incredible warmth and detailed musical character. Even when applied generously, these equalizers exhibit sweet forgiveness and superb audio quality.

Equipped with our studio-grade 24-bit Multi-FX processor, the X1222USB gives you 16 mind-blowing digital effect presets such as delay, chorus, and reverb. Time-based functions can be entered manually by pressing the Tap button in tempo with the music. Apply them to any channel as well as to the monitors and main output. Of course, if you have treasured outboard gear you've grown attached to, the X1222USB lets you integrate them into the mix, bypassing the built-in FX processor.

For more than 20 years, Behringer has designed and manufactured some of the most successful FBQ Feedback Elimination processors. Now, you can own and enjoy the benefits of this technology, as they have integrated their revolutionary FBQ Feedback Detection System into this product, so your sound system is completely feedback-free. Utilizing an ultra-fast feedback detection system, this ingenious circuitry helps you recognize and tame feedback frequencies immediately. When feedback is sensed in a specific frequency range, the LED on the associated EQ fader illuminates, showing you at a glance which fader to lower to overcome the feedback.

The X1222USB comes equipped with channel Inserts for inputs 1 - 4 for use with outboard FX, a stereo 7-band graphic EQ, which can be assigned to the main or monitor buses and the proprietary FBQ Feedback Detection System. Other features include full-sized faders for Monitor and FX Sends, the XPQ 3D stereo surround effect (creates a broader, enhanced stereo image), and a handy Voice Canceller function for removing vocals from pre-recorded media for "instant-karaoke" applications.

There was a time when the recording process called for lots and lots of expensive gear, which meant the average musician had to buy time at a recording studio, and that time was pricey indeed. But modern technology has put personal recording well within the reach of virtually anyone with access to a computer. How do you get all that music flying around your brain into your computer? That's where the XENYX X1222USB mixer comes in. Thanks to the included bidirectional stereo USB audio interface, you can connect directly to your PC or Mac computer via a single USB cable. Now, any signal source you connect to the mixer can be recorded directly to your hard drive.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How to connect this mixer to a subwoofer?

A: If the subwoofer has a Left / Right input and output, you would go from the Yamaha MG10XU Left / Right main out - into the subwoofer - out from the subwoofer to the Left and Right top speakers. Alternatively, if the subwoofer does not allow you to send the signal out, and the speaker has a line/mix output, you can connect that to the subwoofer.

Q: 2. Will this mixer power high impedance headphones such as the sennheiser hd650's ?

A: The headphone output on the Yamaha MG10XU will cater to headphones with a nominal impedance of 40 ohms. Because the HD650's are 300 ohms, the use of an external headphone amplifier will be beneficial and recommended.

Q: 3. Do I need an interface for this or does it's USB channel work the same way?

A: This unit features a built in interface. When connected to a computer the mixer will pass the main stereo mix via its USB connection.

A: Yes, the Yamaha MG10XU can send a 2-channel mix out to a computer via USB.

Q: 5. How is volume to the headphone out controlled? (is it a static, but quasi-controlled via gain or adjusted by output knob?

A: The headphone volume control on the Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 is controlled by the knob labeled 'Output'. It is the knob that is farthest to the right, on top of the interface.

[3-Band EQ ] I use it for karaoke

[3-Band EQ ] I purchased this little mixer for a dinner piano gig I do. Not only do I sing, but I use some backing tracks I put together in my studio (bass & drums, mostly). I needed a small, lightweight mixer with built-in effects that I could plug my mic and i-Pod into. The Xenyx 1202FX fits the bill perfectly. It gives me plenty of channels (enough for another couple of musicians to plug into for an impromptu jam) and the built-in digital effects does a fine job giving space to my mic channel. As with any mixer this size, the power supply is a separate in-line lump, which some people may not be thrilled about. Overall, the Xenyx 1202FX is exactly what I needed in a compact and affordable package. Highly recommended!

[1x USB-B] I play both guitar and keyboards. I got this mixer so that I could plug in a couple of keyboards, the combination effects pedal, and a microphone all at the same time and feed them into a couple of Behringer powered speakers. The keyboards and the effects pedal have stereo outputs which works out great with the 4-sets of stereo inputs on the mixer. So far I have been very happy with this mixer. I have been enjoying the convenience and the additional effects. one way it could be improved would be to add XLR mains.

[3-Band EQ ] I used this Behringer XENYX mixer for the first time at charity fundraiser. Connected a wired mic, wireless mic and a wireless head set mic to it. Sent the mix out to a JBL EON ONE...all worked great. The footprint is only about 12 square and it has everything I needed for controlling multiple inputs. Great price too!

[11.87 lb] We had an old Yamaha mixer/sound board that died after at least 15-years. The new Yamaha MG16XU was almost a direct match (functionally) plus it had USB added. I received and installed it and it works perfectly. It actually works better than the old mixer. There wasn't much to learn. It was a great investment!!

[3-Band EQ ] I use the MG16XU for off site audio applications. The built-in compressor and effects are great features for those who need a mobile unit without a digital cost. The MG16XU's 2 Pre-Aux Channels are great for multiple monitor mixes. The USB in provides an easy connection from my laptop to plan background music. Great purchase.

[16-Bit] I hesitated at giving a 5-star rating because of the absence of a power button, but decided all the other great things about this mixer overshadowed that. This little mixer lacks nothing that I need in a mixer and has a footprint comparable to my 10 tablet. It has 12 inputs 4 of which are XLR inputs with 3 band EQs. Phantom power is there for my condenser mics as well as 99 great sounding effects such as reverbs, echoes, and much, much more. If you are a musician/singer working coffee houses and such this mixer is perfect. Pick up a powered speaker to use with it and you are in business. The mixer is also very quiet for recording and the Tape In/Out is right there for ya.

[3-Band EQ ] It's great for small gigs that still needs just a touch of reverb. Is it the best DSP ever? No. But, it helps fill in just a little to keep the sound full. Over all build quality is good and we've used this model for over 6 years with no problems.
