Q: 1. Is this harness just for DSLR's or can it be used with a mirrorless camera such as a Fujifilm X-T3?

A: Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-1 (Gray) BH #CO686GREY can also be used with a mirrorless camera such as a Fujifilm X-T3.

Q: 2. Hi, how much weight can it carry? I am looking for something of the sort that can hold my Pentax K1 + at least my 28-105 which in total might be around 3 pounds

A: This would support your camera with even bigger lens (70-200mm f2.8)

Q: 3. Would this work for carrying my Canon C200 (without the handle) and with 24-105L lens?

A: Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-1 (Gray) BH #CO686GREY will work for carrying the Canon C200 (without the handle) and with Canon 24-105 f/4 L lens.

Q: 4. Will this fit a D500 with the Nikon 500mm PF lens, while riding my bike? Or will it hang down too low to be able to pedal?

A: The camera sits in the middle of your chest, and the lens is about 10" long, so it will depend on your height and the type of bicycle you are using.

Q: 5. What is the purpose of the 10 degree hub. Would it be recommended for a 500m PF lens mounted on the D500? This is comparatively short lens.

A: The 10 degree hub, is for many different size lenses. Good to try with the 500mm PF.

Q: 6. Can it support a Nikon180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens on a Nikon Z 9 camera body?

A: Yes, the Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-1 can absolutely support the Nikon180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens on a Nikon Z 9 camera body.

Q: 7. It sounds like multiple people have had their camera dislodge from the side holster when stooping or kneeling. Has anyone come up with an effective work-around (e.g., a safety tethering strap)?

A: No, Cotton Carrier has not made a tether that works with the Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-2 (Realtree Xtra Camo)

Q: 8. I am going on a bike tour in Europe. Would this work while biking? It is a fairly easy pace. Using a Nikon Z-9 & 42-70 lens.

A: Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-1 will work while biking and will be able to hold a Nikon Z9 with a Nikon 24-70 lens.

Q: 9. How can I hike with one camera but two lenses? (ie. I have a wide angle on my camera but want to bring a zoom lens as well).

A: There are two possible solutions. If your lens has a tripod mounting collar with / 20 mounting threads , you can buy a side strap (holster) for Cotton Carrier which is meant to carry a second camera (check B and H website for side holsters for Cotton Carrier) . The holster may attach to your belt rather than the cotton carrier. You can then attach and carry the lens to the holster which will carry the lens on one side of your waist. This will work but the problem with this arrangement is that the heavy lens will hang on the side causing the weight distribution to be non-uniform and therefore uncomfortable. Alternately you can carry the camera with the heavy lens on the chest and the light lens on the side holster. However, I have found a better solution. I had earlier bought an Ikan brand padded camera bag from B and H which is reasonably priced, is meant to be carried as a backpack and can carry upto 14 inch long equipment (Camera, lens or camera plus lens) . Beside the camera and the lens, it has room for other equipment such as ND filters, small monitors etc. So I carry one camera with lens on my chest in Cotton Carrier, one camera with lens and other equipment in my backpack. It has the great advantage that all the weight is on the shoulders and comfortably distributed and none on the side (which is not convenient). By attaching the right weight lens to the camera carried on the chest in Cotton Carrier and storing the rest in backpack, you can make the weight on chest and back somewhat equal and thus more comfortable. This is my suggested solution.

Q: 10. Hi there, I have a Canon 7D mark ii and an early EF400mm f/2.8 lens with a combined weight of 8kg (17.6 lbs) which is just too heavy for a strap as it digs into my shoulder. This combination is 58cm (23.5'') long and the lens hood is 18cm (8'') in diameter. Would this be comfortable to carry with your G3 harness ? Thanks Noel

A: Yes, the Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-1 (Gray) would be strong enough to comfortably support the Canon EOS 7D Mark II DSLR Camera and the Canon EF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM Super Telephoto Lens.

[8.7 x 2 x 1.8"] I have used the chest harness for a couple of years and really like it... The Strapshot gives me several options on carrying my camera... Very good quality design and construction...

[8.7 x 2 x 1.8"] Just bought this harness for a trip to Alaska and I am so glad I did. I have a Nikon z8 camera with heavy lenses, and this harness lets me be hands free when hiking, but with easy access on a moments notice. Very comfortable and distributes weight well.

[Black] I was looking for a good way to have fast access to my camera and still keeping it safe while hiking and traveling. This device allows me to carry the camera clipped to the shoulder strap of my sling bag (a Thinktank Turnstyle 20 v. 2) and also works on the shoulder straps of my bigger backpack. The carrier attaches securely to backpack strap with a built-in adjustable webbed strap on the top of the carrier (which is barely visible in the photos). The web strap is threaded through an accessory buckle on the backpack straps. The rear velcro portion goes around the back of the strap to hold it secure. The camera stays clipped in the mount unless you rotate it and then you can lift it up and out. Everything is secure and the camera is safe from accidental drops with the safety tether. I'm using it with a small and light camera (Panasonic LX-100 v2) and it works great. I've also tried it with my Nikon D7200 with a Nikon AF-S 16-80mm f2.8-4 (which weighs over 2.5 lbs) and the Cotton Carrier on the backpack can safely handle the weight. However, the sling bag rotates on my shoulder due to the weight. I chose this over the Peak Design Capture Clip because the Cotton Carrier can handle wider straps.

[Yes] Since it's still winter here and I'm not much of a fan of cold weather I've only tested it once. However, after just 1/2 hour walk with my DSLR and Sigma 150 - 600mm lens I could already tell the difference on my shoulders compared to my sling strap. I was at the point of selling the lens and going with something lighter but really hated to do that. This harness solved my problem, at least until I age a few more years.

[Neoprene] I picked up a used Cotton Carrier and none of it would connect.
I contacted Cotton and they informed me that; the old hardware (hub) will not fit in the new harnesses, the new hardware (hub) will fit in both the new and the old gear. Solved all my problems.

[0.35 lb] This harness works as good as I had hoped it would. While hiking, It keeps my DSLR with 100-400mm zoom attached in a position ready to access quickly for photo ops. It's quick and easy to take the harness on or off and to get it adjusted for use. It's also sleek enough to wear under a backpack. I was concerned when I read reviews about users having trouble with the Anodized-Aluminum Hub with Rubber Washer. I installed it with the included allen wrench using moderate torque and haven't had any issue with it coming loose or rotating.

[0.35 lb] Just got back from a hiking vacation in Utah, and having this connected to my backpack strap was perfect for having my camera at my disposal whenever I needed it, and still have my hands free for hiking sticks or anything else.
