Its power consumption and luminous efficacy are excellent. Each of the RGB colors requires less than 100W, the equivalent of a low-consumption fixture, but the resulting light output easily exceeds any high-power beam moving light.

A special patent-pending design optical system turns the laser-emitted light into a solid, dense, saturated light beam without any visible hotspots. The beam aperture ranges from 1 to 7° and it can be decreased further to 0.5° using the beam diameter reducers provided on the gobo wheel. The resulting pencil beams are of exceptional intensity, and cannot be reproduced by any other light sources, either LED or traditional.

The Xtylos uses laser technology with RGB additive color mixing. In contrast to the subtractive mixing used with discharge lamps, colored light beams are as bright as a white light beam. With the Xtylos, you always have a Turbo-Red, a TurboBlue, and a Turbo-Green at your disposal, together with all their combinations, which are infinitely brighter than those produced by a traditional bulb. Color consistency is literally unequalled both across different fixtures and during lifetime. Lighting designers will finally be able to create their shows making

extensive use of colors, without fear of them being overwhelmed by the rest of the lighting rig.

The range of effects is very wide and complete: two gobo wheels with 7 rotating gobos and 12 fixed gobos including 7 beam diameter reducers), a wheel with 3 prisms + 1 frost, and a sixteen facet prism on a dedicated channel, which can be overlapped with the prism wheel. These effects are enhanced by the laser source and by the visibility of the aerial colors, giving rise to never-seen-before mid-air effects.

Effect and color changes alternate virtually instantaneously, in such a way that they are difficult for the human eye to perceive. Besides allowing lighting scenes to be changed very quickly and accurately, the speed of this change itself can be used as a breath-taking effect.

The laser unit is housed in a safe, sealed module, which is not accessible to users. This module produces a beam of light with incredible optical characteristics: bright, perfectly collimated, uniformly mixed, and evenly distributed across its section. Unlike some discharge lamp fixtures, its beam comes with a negligible amount of heat, so there is no risk of heating up scenery and objects.

An extraordinarily compact housing, together with the most advanced electronics on the market, make the Xtylos extremely fast and responsive to pan-tilt movements. Its compact size means it can be easily installed on pre-rigs or housed inside the Clay Paky Igloo for fixed outdoor installations.

The laser source lasts for approximately 20,000 hours (equivalent to over 12 years of average use by a rental company) with minimal decay in luminous efficacy. This is a significant technology improvement, which results in an excellent ROI for rental companies.

The laser module is easily accessible and replaceable at the end of its life. The electronic module is a disjointed unit and it may be replaced separately from the light source, if faulty.

The Xtylos is definitely the most dynamic light on the market. It is ideal tool for all rental companies, for use at major events, and at any show, which would like to stand out with colorful beams and never-seen-before effects. It is also perfect for permanent installations in theme parks and TV studios.

The Xtylos is the first moving head light with a laser source, and this opens up new, surprising prospects for the development of the entire entertainment lighting world.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Radio Triggering Range of up to 328' - To use this item, does one need a single Cactus V5 transceiver? I noticed you sell the transceivers either singly or in pairs, and the description suggests this item can trigger the transceiver itself.

A: It depends on what your goal is as well as existing equipment. The laser has a sender built in, so it can activate the shutter and on-camera flash with a single transciever. If you want to use remote flash (most aoolications like water drops, bursting ballons etc.) require a remote flash - then you either need a second transceiver or a camera/flash system that controls a slave flash. Hope this helps

Q: 2. How long will the battery last while continuously on?

A: The battery is rated for 45 minutes.

Q: 3. How long will the battery last not in full power?

A: The battery is rated as 45 minutes in full power. It is not rated for run time at lower power.

Q: 4. How precisely do you have to line up the laser? We've tried a similar product but it's so picky that even a strong wind can push it far enough out of alignment that the camera will not trigger.

A: The subject will need to be precisely aligned with the trigger.

Q: 5. which cable should I buy to connect this device to Canon EOS 7D mark ii (needs to be at least 20 feet long)? Thanks.

A: The LV5 has a 3.5mm port. The Canon 7D Mark II has a 3-pin shutter release. The proper cable would be the Vello 3.5mm shutter release cable for Canon 3-pin. B&H # VERCCC235. But this is not 20' long. Very soon Vello is releasing a 33' extension cord for this cable. In the meantime, the Canon 33' extension cord will work. B&H # CAET1000N3

Q: 6. Can it be set to only trigger if the subject is moving faster than say 20mph?

A: Unfortunately, the LV5 cannot be set to trigger based on a specific speed of the subject in motion.

Q: 7. Is the power source for this scaler available apart from the ROV? I.e. can we use this scaler lowered from a boat?

A: No, the CHASING LC01 Laser Scaler for M2 ROV is designed to be powered from the ROV.

Q: 8. Hello I just want to now if this product its good for splash photography,do I need and other cable or accesorie and how can I connect the device to a canon 5ds? thanks

A: Yes, this would be a good product for splash photography. You would not need additional cables to connect this to a 5DS.

Q: 9. does it permit the use of a 3.5 input socket to a Camcorder or DSLR camera ?

A: You may be able to use this mic with a camcorder or DSLR (providing that the impedance is within range -- check your camera manual for mic input impedance specs). However, due to its transformerless design, this mic may introduce noise or hum into the recorded audio.

Q: 10. Where do you purchase the expansion port for the M2? And does it allow the use of the grabber arm and the laser scaler?

A: The CHASING Chasing M2 Underwater ROV does not have an expansion port; however, it does have one port under the ROV. You can only attach the CHASING LC01 Laser Scaler for M2 ROV or the CHASING Robotic Claw, not both simultaneously.

[20,000 Hours] I bought a couple of these. I recommend them to anyone. Lots of Punch! Great DMX control and really good programs for sound active mode. More than enough power for any bar or church setting.

[Motorized] This fixture is very well built and meets every expectation that I had. I also found the Gator GP-66 bag fits this light perfectly.

[Omega Bracket] These are *tiny*, and put out a bunch of light for their size. Movement is fast enough for my needs, the fans are surprisingly quiet, and they're inexpensive but not cheap-feeling. There's things I wish they'd do (e.g. a bit of zoom, tilt past 180), but those would add size and price. The only realistic improvement I can think of would be an option to turn off the little DMX signal indicator light. These lights are nicely focused on being what they are and do it extremely well.

[Omega Bracket] I have a lot of experience with the High End Sola wash 19's and the 36's, I like these more. We have had them for about 9 months now and they are still not too loud and we haven't had an issue with them. You will need to buy a clamp and safety cable but with how low the price is compared to their competition I'm not complaining. They have great punch I use them in a full proscenium house and they have no problem cutting through the rest of the rig.

[Moving Head] I have to tell you that ERICKA at JMAZ was incredible to work with on a couple of issues I had with these lights. She followed thru on everything she said she would without question or hesitation. I love these lights. They are bright and powerful and the price point is perfect. Do not hesitate to buy them. You will not be disappointed. Thanks again Ericka for being such a Pro!
