Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the RF24-105 image stabilization work well with the R that doesn't have in body stabilization?

A: Yes, the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens image stabilization works very well on the Canon EOS R body. And it is a sharp lens.

Q: 2. Will the IS on this be good for video or will it be like the previous 24-105?

A: The image stabilization of the EF 24-105 F4L IS II was pretty decent for video. That being said- the RF 24-105 F4L IS does have 5 stops of stabilization, whereas the EF version had 4 stops by comparison.

A: The Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens is non variable aperture lens. It does not reduce lite as you zoom.

Q: 6. If I purchase this used, will I be able to purchase Canon CarePAK for this lens?

Q: 9. Does this lens have an effective focal length of 28-168mm on AP{S format cameras like the new Canon R10?

[Neoprene] I saw people raving over this lens on YouTube. The fact that it was L glass with an f4 but performed way better than expected. So I took a chance and bought it. No regrets.... It has become my own workhorse. Pretty much made my 50 worthless. I just got back from a 4 week Italy trip. I used it for food, landscape, stars, coastline and sunrise and sunsets. I never once questioned if I needed a better lens. When photographing the ancient ruins in Rome and Pompeii it was perfect. I could pick just the right zoom and depth in the photo. Really don't pass this up for the price.

[Neoprene] Image quality is above average and gets even better when images are processed in Canon's DPP software with Canon's own lens profile corrections applied. Matches perfectly with the 14-35 f/4 and 70-200 f/4 for a landscape kit.

[0.15 lb] I use to protect all my lenses, long but also short, with LensCoat covers. In fact I usually use my lensens for photographic safaris and therefore it is important to protect the lenses from unwanted scratches which can always occur, even when the utmost care is taken. Available in different patterns, they are a must to go with your lens.

[Neoprene] ... this is the one you should have. Small, lightweight, fast accurate focusing, great photos. Despite having 3 RF lenses, the RF 24-105 f4 L IS rarely leaves my R5. It is so good for so many types of images. I have hand held it to about 1/3 second, so the f4 aperture isn't really a low light restriction if the camera has IBIS. As I'm primarily into landscape and nature, this is really my go-to, every day, walk-around lens.

Unless your main concern is small apertures and background blur, this is a lens that is really unbeatable for price, size and quality.

[Black] I have used the 24-105 a couple of times. I really like the versatility of the 24mm and the reach of the 105mm. Pictures are sharp. So far so good. As long as your not in a low, low light situation, good to go with the F4 range. But, there is always other way to get the correct exposure with speed and ISO.

[0.15 lb] Couldn't ask for a better lens. Very sharp images and focuses fast. If you like the option that a zoom lenses gives then this is the lens for you. It is just like the 70-200 2.8 lens but only at a shorter distance. Would recommend this lens for everyone, at every level of photography.

[Neoprene] Excellent image quality, very nice weight balance with an EOS R body, and totally versatile. If I had to choose only one lens to have, this would be it. You can do anything with this lens, from street photography to travel or nature, from portraiture to fashion shoots. I also have the “cheaper brother” of this lens, which is also an excellent (and lighter) lens - and a good choice if you don’t mind the variable aperture and the lack of weather sealing.

[0.15 lb] I've been using this lense for 9 months now. I've used from everyting from astrophtography to sports photography. It is an amazingly fast and sharp lense. It's been in the heavy snow, pouring rain, and subzero temperatures in the Rocky Mountains.

[Black] Tried having walking on the park for some bird shots... good i have this coz if not for this my camera would be scratch free no more, didn't notice the branch sticking infront of me and hit my camera, well, if you invest an expensive camera, why not protect it.
