Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this compatible with the Peak Design standard plate? The standard plate comes with the Peak Design Slide, which I use.

A: It Does. It is the same wide and clamps in firmly. It is shorted and does not extend end to end so it may not support a very heavy rig at a 90 degree angle. But it does work perfectly for my nikon D800 with lend and battery grip.

Q: 2. Can you suggest a video tripod head to go along with the Mefoto GlobeTrotter? I will mainly be using a Sony RX10 camera.

A: No I'm sorry, I use mine with a DSLR only

Q: 3. Can you add stabilizer feet to the monopod in order to use it with a 360º camera?

A: Yes you can. Unscrew the cap on the foot and you can add a stabilizer foot with the same thread.

Q: 4. Can I use this tripod with a Nikon MC-DC2 Remote Release Cord or will the quick release plate get in the way?

A: You can use it with no issue

Q: 5. Does this tripod pan and tilt?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. Any suggestions to add extra safety, so my camera with my heavy 400mm, pointing straight up? It makes me very nervous with only a plate holding the weight, I fear it will all slip off and crash to the ground

A: The Arca-Swiss type mounting plate system used on this tripod has a built-in slip prevention feature built into it. If the knob that tightens the plate to the ball head becomes loose enough to allow the plate to slip, it will only slip about a half inch or so before being stopped by this feature. If the knob loosens further, then the plate can be released altogether. However, you might want to consider getting a larger tripod with a wider splay of the tripod legs for your heavy setup.

Q: 7. Would you recommend using this with a canon 100-400 II on a 6d? It's within my price range but I would like to feel secure leaving my equipment on there for at least a short period of time. If not, does anyone have recommendations for another tripod not too far from this price range?

A: It's rated at 26 lbs. I've only used it with a 70D with battery grip (similar size to your 60D?) a 300-700 4-5.6 L on it but not with a collar. The mounting plate allows for some movement of the mount point, but I think I'd look at getting an optional, longer, ARCA-stile mount plate to give you a few extra inches of flexibility - that should allow you to mount over the center of gravity better. the legs extend wide enough and should not be a problem. if you're concerned about stability, there is a hook under the center column to which a sandbag or weight can be tied to help with that. I was also evaluating INDURO aluminum models as well. This won-out on price point and features. Very nice fit/finish.

Q: 8. Is the head removable?

A: yes the head will screw off the centre leg

Q: 9. the tripop MeFoto A2350Q2 come with a camera plate PU60. I need an extra one, which should I buy? could you indicate product number please. I will use it with a couple of Nikon D810

A: Any Arca-Swiss compatible mount plate will work with this ball head, they are made by a multitude of companies in various sizes as needed for your particular camera and lens mount application.

Q: 10. Trying to find a solid tripod for my Pentax 645z without breaking the bank. Is this tripod up for the task of supporting a medium format camera?

A: I use a Nikon D800 with a battery grip and a 70-200 and it's very stable.

[12 mm] I grabbed me the black leather handles and they are amazing. Soft grip but built with durability in mind.

Aesthetic feels really great, I like how the leather grip hugs and curves around your hands, very very comfortable.
