[11.14 lb] I have used a Promise Pegasus for years on a succession of iMac, beginning 10 years ago. Though not as fast as I had hoped that solution worked for general backup and backing up my library of photography, over 20,000 frames. But when I moved to a higher resolution camera, and Mac Studio, I needed a new solution. After much research I chose a ThunderBay Mini with four SSD drives in RAID 4 configuration. So far, it is working great, with amazing speed for my entire Lightroom Classic photo library. It was the right choice! 5

[550 MB/s ] I've owned many OWC products and like those, this does not disappoint. It offers very fast T3 connectivity and simple to mount frames for the 2.5 SSDrives. It's quiet enough to keep nearby my audio workstation without disturbing me. And it's a good value. 5

[macOS] Video Media storage with a Mac Studio Ultra. Maximizing storage speeds with NVME in RAID 0, though heatsinks might improve it a bit further. Speed tests indicate it can handle up to some types of 12K footage. Cruising through multicam 4K footage in conjunction with NVME media cache. SoftRAID keeps asking for the activation code for some reason. OWC needs to fix that. Only 2 months in but working as advertised so far. 5

[11.14 lb] The Box works Fine ! What is clear as mud, is whether SoftRaid ( software ) is needed to use this product. After digging into this, i came to realize that SoftRaid is a utility program for a turnkey experience of getting the raid up and running. ALSO, The SoftRaid is not mandatory !! Windows has builtin ( Raid Management ) and it works fine! Thank you.. 5
