A: Yes - I find it very comfortable for carrying a DSLR with a 100-400mm lens while hiking or riding an ATV. However, its not the most flattering - a strap goes diagonally across your chest.

Q: 5. I document longer hikes over technical terrain that require my hands to be free but frequent use of my camera. Can anyone tell me if this would be compatible with also wearing a lightweight backpack? Also, is there any awkwardness if shooting in portrait mode? Thanks!

A: Hello Shaun, you should not experience an issue. I use the strap attached to a 70-200mm lens and have tried both portrait and landscape modes. I also used it with a shoulder strap with a lens and a second camera and did not experience any issue or discomfort. I hope this helps.

[Neoprene] I enjoy photographing wildlife, particularly birds. My rig of choice is a Nikon AF-S 200-500mm f/5.6E coupled to a D850. This is 7+ pounds, which until now was either hanging from my neck or being carried like a baby, alternating arms as the other cramped, as I wandered the wilderness in search of the next quarry. This sling is simple to use. It holds my rig comfortably and securely upside down at my right hip, from which position I can swing it up to shooting position instantly. The QD quick-connect fitting securely locks into the QD port of my RRS lens foot, making transition to another lens or to a tripod mount quick and easy. The sling comes with a tether for additional security. All this, plus my neck continues to thank me.

[Neoprene] This is my 2nd BlackRapid Sport Strap. Comfortable and seems durable. I like the security strap, to which I added a 2nd QD connector to attach to my camera body (the main QD connector connects to the foot of my lens). I also appreciate the bag, which keeps the strap well contained when it is in my camera bag, keeping the metal parts from knocking into the camera body/lens.

[Neoprene] This is the ultimate evolution of camera straps, and finally in black rather than tan. All my gear is now equipped with QD sockets, mostly the Kirk implementation. I've always like the BlackRapid Sport with the strap under the arm. It keeps the rig centered on your shoulder. However, I was always dissatisfied with the screw-in camera attachment or Arca-plate adaptations. Now with a QD fitting on the strap, all is convenient and secure. Do I trust QD 1000%? Well, no, only my wife qualifies for that. So I add an Op/Tech Uni-Loop Connecter. That's for possible user error, not QD weakness. (Sorry, Peak Design, I don't trust you for critical applications.) Now, for discreet travel or street shooting, I use only a wrist strap. But for everything else, it's BlackRapid, baby.

[Neoprene] I ordered this for my R7, which I anticipated using almost always with the RF 100-500 F/4.5-7.1 L lens. (I have an R5 for things that don't require maximum reach). I attached it to the tripod spot on the bottom of the camera and with the left shoulder arrangement of the sling, I find it quite secure tramping around with the small camera/large lens combo at my side. Just raise the camera and shoot with strap still attached, no problem.

[Neoprene] I have used sling straps for many years both for hiking and travel. The strap keeps the camera safe and convenient. I was pleased to see the addition of a QD attachment. So far it holds the camera solidly, but I still use the safety strap as well. Mine is attached to the newer RRS L plate which now has a QD attachment point. The strap is comfortable to wear and does not slip.

[Neoprene] I was going between a camera holder that would attach to my chest or the BR camera sling strap. We were preparing to leave for a pheasant hunting trip to S. Dakota and I knew I needed something that made it easy to carry my heavy camera/ lens thru the fields. After asking several fb camera groups I was sold on this one. I was glad I did. It worked great and I was surprised how easily and quickly it was to bring my camera up to shoot as well as the weight of the camera was hardly noticeable. Great product!

[Neoprene] THIS HEAVY-DUTY STRAP WAS A GREAT UPGRADE FOR MY LEICA 10x50 TRINOVID; THE ORIGINAL STRAP WAS NOT COMFORTABLE AFTER A SHORT USE PERIOD. YOU WILL NOT REGRET PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT IF YOU SHOULD HAVE A HEAVY LEICA BINOCULAR.

[Neoprene] Black Rapid just keeps getting better. The QD clip is so intuitive that there is absolutely NO excuse not to use this strap. It provides COMFORT, CONVENIENCE, and PEACE of MIND. If you don't have one. Get one. You won't regret it.

[Neoprene] So much better than the strap that comes with the camera. The camera strap gave me a stiff neck. The BlackRapid sling is easy to use and no stiff neck.
