The Sea & Sea YS Converter/C1 for MDX-70D Housingfrom Sea & Sea YS Converter/C1 for MDX-70D Housingis a compact unit that converts the Canon EOS 70D DSLR Camera's TTL signal to a light signal and allows you to switch between TTL and manual flash exposure control with optional, external YS series strobes. It can be mounted on the camera's accessory shoe while the camera is inside the Sea & Sea MDX-70D housing and can communicate with the strobes via the connection of Sea & Sea's Fiber-Optic Cable II. Switch between TTL and manual by pushing the mode switch on the housing.

Q: 7. Hi, I'm looking for o-rings for my Motormarine II (battery and back lid), could some of these fit? I belive the main one should be about 135mm wide.

A: We no longer have any o-rings that will fit the Sea & Sea Motormarine II camera.

Q: 8. I currently have a YS-03 strobe and am looking to add a second strobe, possibly the YS-01. Do you know if I can link the two strobes so that the strength of the YS-03 flash is controlled by the YS-01 strobe in manual mode?

A: The YS-03 is an auto only strobe, and uses a pre-flash. So the YS-03 exposure is set by the camera's built-in flash. Since the YS-01 does not use the pre-flash in manual mode it will not fire. To use the YS-03 and the YS-01 together you have to set the YS-01 on TTL, not manual. It is best to use two YS-03, or even better to use two YS-01.

[1.9 oz / 54 g] I purchased the base package when on same (ones without camera case insert). I have other light camera bag that fits perfectly inisde this Shimoda bag. It's large enough to carry my backpacking tent, small air bed (Klymit insulated VLux), sleeping bag and other camping gears, along with one DSLR (D810) and one mirrorless (G9). This is awsome bag for hiking and traveling. 5

[1.9 oz / 54 g] I have a Tamron 90mm Macro and the auto focus is way too slow underwater. There is no particular focus gear for my lens, but I measured it up to the closest Nikon lens and bought this gear. Previously, I had to put the lens on manual focus and then move the housing forward and backward to get focus going. This was very limiting and frustrating. The gear comes with an o-ring you cut in small pieces and position inside grooves of the ring. It fit to my lens easily. I was hoping I could use this gear on my other lenses as well because it's quite an expense to pull out for one gear. I was delighted to see it worked on the 18-55 and 80-200 and my Tokina 10-17 zoom rings with very little modification. I also use my housing for surf photography, and this gear opens up a new universe. It's solid construction and the adjustable o-ring system is simple and effective. 5

[1.9 oz / 54 g] You may be curious if it works for the newer 16-35 mm L II. It does fit. But be aware that the sea&sea chart shows the old lens not the new II. It shows as if the lens fits with only a dome port. You will need to get an extension like intermediate extension ring. 5

[1.9 oz / 54 g] The Sea & Sea Zoom Gear works as advertised with my Tokina 10-17mm lens and Sea & Sea RDX-550D housing. With just a little bit of trial & error, placement is easily attained so that the dial on the RDX-550D controls it nicely and the zoom goes in and out as desired. 5
