Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens work with a SonyFX30?

A: Yes, the DZOFilm Catta 70-135mm T2.9 E-Mount Cine Zoom Lens (White) is compatible with the e-mount on the Sony FX30.

Q: 2. only black color?and only Dec BracketPolar Scope Illuminator ?

A: The illuminator is a poor design. You need to remove the bracket to use it on the polar scope. With a mount this light (and the non-heavy duty tripod I supposed most people will be using), re-attaching the bracket and camera will require you to do PA again.

Q: 3. Can this unit be used with film cameras?

A: Yes, really no different than a digital camera but if you have them I'd recommend staying within parameters established for a like focal length and ASA/ISO value just for ballpark exposure.

Q: 4. If I have a standard camera tripod and DSLR, can I go straight into photographing the Moon, Orion Nebula, etc., without purchasing *anything* else, or must I also get the counterweight, any kind of wedge, ball head, etc. for it to be a complete setup? I am comparing this to iOptron and need to know what else is required.

A: Using a DSLR should not require you to use a counterweight unless the camera and lens combo approaches the 11 pound threshold. I purchased all of the accessories just in case they were needed I'd have them to use. I only use the counterweight when affixing my ETX to the ball head. Depending on the total weight of the camera and lens, coupled with the stability of the tripod you have, you may want to have some form of counterweight, even if just for the tripod itself, to ensure steady images.

Q: 5. Most telescope mounts rate the load to include the expected counterweights (without showing the additional mass in the load rating). Since this mount is also for camera/lens, does its rated load the absolute max? This is significant because the moment arm on the counterweight needs to be equivalent to the moment arm of the scope and accessories, and that can double the final load.

A: I bought this item for deep sky astrophotography. It is rated for 11 pounds, but for photography this is not realistic. With a wide angle lens on a light load it works very well. For heavier lenses it is very poor. I had 8 pounds with 300mm focal length, perfect alignment and excellent balance, and it in unable to consistently produce pinpoint stars at exposures over 10 seconds. At 30 seconds to a minute the keeper rate drops to 30% with pinpoint stars in only about 10% of images. I would not recommend this unit for photography. For a telescope and viewing it might be sufficient, but not if you want to do any exposure with long/heavy scopes or lenses. Hope this helps.

Q: 6. can you point me to a telescope to use with this package? thank you

A: Hello. I would recommend a small diameter refractor, such as an Orion. You must consider the weight of the telescope because the capacity of the guider is limited. For heavier scopes, such as the smaller SCTs, I would purchase the 1 kg counterweight. I'm currently using a Canon DSLR with a 200 mm telephoto lens + 1.4x extender and use the counterweight to minimize torsion stress on the guider.

Q: 7. Does this have the latest one piece spring loaded worm block?

A: Yes all of the G11 goto mounts now have the tucked version of the motors, one piece worm and spring loaded worms. Here is a great reference Spread Sheet: http://losmandy.com/files/collateral/Losmandy_G11G_datasheet.pdf

Q: 8. What else do I need to buy to be able to do Ap with long exposures? 5 min

A: People mentioned a ball head. I don't have one and wish I did with this tracker. Also, for aligning with Polaris, being able to keep my tripod stationary and spin the tracker on top would make it SO much easier to align. These are my two suggestions. Get the wedge too, that's a must.

Q: 9. how many elements and how many groups?

A: The DZOFilm Catta Zoom 70-135mm has 17 Elements in 11 Groups. Also additionally the Catta Zoom 35-80mm has 20 Elements in 15 Groups.

Q: 10. Does this lens have an internal zoom or does the barrel extend out?

A: Yes, the DZOFilm Catta 70-135mm T2.9 E-Mount Cine Zoom Lens (Black) is an internal zoom lens. Cinema zoom lenses do not extend, as they are commonly used with a matte-box and this formula would not work together.

[Steel] Finishing touch for our new covered patio. Recessed the mount two inches between the exposed joists, turned out perfect.

[10'] I love this mount. I had to downsize my tv to get it ti fit in the ceiling nook. It’s absolutely perfect. And when I contacted the company for help on something that came up they had excellent customer service on the phone. I had a contractor help me install. It was too hard for me alone. I sped up the video of the tv going up and down.

[Black] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super excited to finally have our TV mounted and not just mounted, but it flips down and tucks back away. Such an amazing feature. Very easy set up with 2 people. I love that it can hold our 65 in tv. It has a remote as well. I loves this idea to have our TV up and out of the way.

[10'] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off this was not an easy install. you will need multiple people since it is a tad heavy. the directions were easy to follow and set up. once it was installed it was still hard to attach the tv. but this was an amazing, motorized mount once installed. it is app controlled and has a remote. it isn't noisy and runs very smoothly. i now need these for every tv i own.

[77 lb] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this motorized tv mount to use in our bedroom, as we don’t have enough wall space to have it directly mounted. Using this ceiling mount, we are able to put it in front of our sliding closet doors without getting in the way of using the
closet itself. The instructions included were very helpful, though it did take a bit of time to make sure everything was securely fastened.
The remote works well and the tv goes up and down pretty quickly. Very happy with it!

[77 lb] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You absolutely need one of these! Maybe even 2! Seriously though? This is a nice addition to your den or bedroom. I have chosen to install this in my living room however so that my whole family may enjoy it. Telescopic and effortless to maneuver. Once installed, it couldn't be easier to position this exactly where the optimum viewing experience would be. Sturdy construction and quality materials as well. Def not hard to use and not at all flimsy or cheap. Very impressed and definitely recommend this one.

[Black] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Set Up: I consider myself a beginner to DIY projects. Setting up this ceiling tv mount was beyond my skills so I had to hire a handyperson to help install this mount. You will need an electrical outlet near to power your TV so be aware of this when you decide to purchase this mount. We had our home built and anticipated mounted TVs in our rooms. In addition to the electrical component, this swings the TV down at the length of the TV so if you have high ceilings and depending on screen size, it might be too high for your line of sight.

Location: I had this TV mount set up in my home office. I work from home and like to be able to have TV on in the background. I also have a small chair in my office so other people can sit and enjoy the office space as well. My desk/computer monitors reach at eye level so I couldn’t put a TV on a stand elsewhere.

I chose a smaller size TV about 32 inches but this mount has the capacity to hold a 70" TV at max weight of 77lbs. Once installed, you can use a remote or a app to control it. It was easy to find the perfect viewing position and once I was done, I can tuck it away making it perfect for my minimalist home style. The mount is not super noisy, all in all, it’s a good mount.
