[Neoprene] I bought this scope for digi-scoping the bluebirds that now occupy the first bluebird box I've ever put up. I had tried DSLR zoom lenses including a 200-800 lens. The lesser lens didn't get close enough and the 200-800 didn't focus clearly enough. I had intended to use the spotting scope with the DSLR but I've found that my iPhone with a phone mount on this scope works great. The attached photo was taken at about 18-20 zoom from about 75 feet. See how clear it is! It's so fun to watch the brooding female poke her head out of the box. I assume that's to cool down a bit and get a breath of fresh air. Photo was taken through window glass and not necessarily in the best lighting conditions. Videos taken with the iphone through the scope are just as good or better.

[Neoprene] I wanted a high-end scope for watching birds, boats, and other wildlife from my window in SF, and that I could take on hikes where I'd know I'd see some cool wildlife. This thing is incredible. Wow.

I am really impressed by the power and clarity - it is definitely way more power than I thought I would need. At 20x, I'm already seeing wildlife in a way that is really fantastic.

The build quality seems great. Everything feels very well made and solid.

I would highly recommend this scope to anyone in this price range. After all the reviews I've watched and read, this is the best option in the range.

[Neoprene] This was purchased for my brother and his wife’s new beach house. They back up to a conservation area that is full of wildlife and this scope is easy to use and has performed flawlessly. Look forward to many years of scoping.

[Neoprene] I received a Vortex Viper HD 20-60x85 Spotting Scope (Angled Viewing) last
week. I initially tried out the scope in driveway of house. I did not think the
scope performed like it should. I had several nit-pics and wrote a not so
positive review. The following Saturday I took scope to a long range match and
actually used scope as intended. The scope performed well beyond my
expectations at 100 to 300 meters. The range goes out to 800 meters and I was
able to see staples in fence posts. I gotta say, “crow never tasted so good”  My opinion of this scope is excellent. One
comment is at 100 meters I could only get three silhouettes in field of vision
vice all five. It was very easy to swing scope to remaining target with the
scope stand and field of view remained perfect. My advice to anyone is don’t
sit in front yard to try out. Use the scope in the way you intend to use it
before forming an opinion. Additionally I got a call from Vortex wondering
about my comments. I apologized. It shows me Vortex is a company that cares
about its products and customers.

[Neoprene] My wife is a birder, I purchased this for her birthday and she loved it. It is definitely a bright scope for our use. I would like to own a Swarovski but these are great and don't cost two arms and a leg. Vortex also has the best warranty in the business.

[Neoprene] Love this scope! A bit heavier than expected, but not really much of an issue. Bright, sharp picture through the entire zoom range. Perfect for birding open spaces, and with the angled eyepiece it works nicely for amateur astronomy as well. The fitted neoprene case is an awesome added bonus. Excellent value overall, and a lifetime warranty too!
