The Core SWX Hypercore NEO 9 Mini 98Wh V-Mount Battery Kitis a compact 14.8V, 98Wh lithium-ion battery that supports a constant 12A draw and peak draw of 16A. With this high output, the battery is designed for cine and broadcast applications, but, of course, it can be used for virtually all other applications as well. At only 4.7" in height and weighing just 1.4 lb, it's also highly suited for gimbal, drone, and other mobile applications. The Hypercore NEO 9 Mini has the ergonomic design, large backlit LCD, and protective over-molded rubberized housing that Hypercore batteries have come to be known for over their past releases, but this NEO 9 Mini version is a lot more advanced.

It's microprocessor-driven like previous Hypercores, ensuring safety and runtime delivery to camera viewfinders or LCDs, but, leveraging the microprocessor, the NEO 9 Mini features an RFID transmitter on the front that lets you monitor the stored battery data via Core SWX's VoltBridgeID iOS app or an RFID reader. Furthermore, the NEO 9 Mini has a more modular design consisting of less cabling, allowing for increased quality. With the different parts installed separately and securely inside the housing, the chance of failure is reduced in case of drops, and servicing the battery becomes a simpler, more efficient process as the different parts install plug-and-play.

In addition to the large LCD, the Hypercore NEO 9 Mini has an LED gauge on the side where the user can easily glance over at it. Other features include 2000 charge/discharge cycles, hibernation mode, and the ability to communicate to cameras as well as chargers with both one-wire and two-wire protocols (see the Features section below). Such an advanced battery wouldn't be complete without peripheral support. The NEO 9 Mini provides a SmartTap D-Tap port and a USB port for powering/charging devices. The SmartTap port lets you power any 12 VDC accessory and transmit battery data if the accessory is able to communicate that information.

The Hypercore NEO 9 Mini is also widely compatible with many different chargers. This V-mount version is compatible with RED, IDX, and Sony V-mount chargers, among others.

The Hypercore NEO 9 Mini is a 14.8V, 98Wh lithium-ion battery supporting a 12A continuous draw and 16A peak draw. It's only 4.7" in height and weighs just 1.4 lb.

The battery features an eight-cell design utilizing Panasonic cells.

A multipurpose backlit LCD provides nominal runtime based on a 25W load, remaining runtime once connected to a device and remaining charge time when on a charger.

The Hypercore NEO 9 Mini can communicate with cameras as well as chargers with both one-wire and two-wire protocols.

The packs go to sleep/hibernate when there is no battery usage or movement after a 48-hour period. Once the battery is picked back up, it awakens.

[1.535 lb] Had Core's previous Hypercore series and these are the stuff! The LCD is so much nicer then the older ones, but I love the ability to not worry about overloading them. These are also real minis, with camera communication. Most others at this price point are don't have comms. 5

[V-Mount] This battery is slightly smaller than the standard hyper core 98wh which I’ve used for several years. It seems to have a decent run time on my FX9. I use it with the SWX FX9 battery plate and it works really well. These batteries also charge pretty fast. The usb and D-tap power ports are a nice bonus. 5

[5 V] I have these in v-mount and just bought four more gold mounts as I find them to work great on my Arri Alexa Mini. They're flight approved for carry-on and are easy to fit into any case. I often operate the camera holding onto the battery and these always feel solid. 5

[Lithium-Ion] I first bought two, and then ordered another two. I can't speak for their longevity, my Core batteries have been better than my PAGs, but not as good as my AB (in terms of longevity), but for traveling light (you can legally only take two of these with you on a plane, but they are so small I am considering pushing my luck), these are small, light, and carry a punch. 5

[V-Mount] I've been using coreswx for a number of years now and have to say they are every bit as good if not better than the other top battery name brands. I currently have hypercore neo 150, hypercore 98, and the panasonic compatible battery...love the screens showing how much runtime is left, never let me down. They are a bit cheaper than the other top end and I'd say are great as they have a lot of extra powering options with USB, dtap, etc and the tech with their chargers to track lifespan/performance, rebalance, and even discharge to flying safe levels are all great features. I mean these batteries with high current load rating can power lights, monitors, etc without a hiccup. Plus the folks at coreswx will take care of you and are true innovators. Give em a look if a great battery is in your future! 5

[1.535 lb] These Hypercore NEO 9 Mini v-mounts are small and give me the flexibility I need because I travel quite a bit for my shoots. The 98s are with in the travel airline specs and they last a good while...powering my RED or BMPCC. I love the sleep feature on it as well. I have 4 of these now. 5

[14.8 VDC] These are my favorite batteries going. Nice interface on the back, can travel with them, and have sleep storage mode. All I use is Core SWX and these batteries are my favorite ones in their fleet. Fits nice and snug on my Komodo for a compact cine build. No brainer. 5
