Outfitted with a magnification and objective lens diameter favored by birders, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts, the Opticron 8x42 Adventurer II WP Binocularsfeature moderate magnification for bringing subjects in close, and an objective lens diameter that provides extended performance in low light without excessive bulk. Outfitted with phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms and fully multicoated optics, they deliver high-contrast images that are bright and clear with accurate color representation. An exceptionally long eye relief helps boost the comfort-level during extended observation sessions and reduces eye fatigue.

The compact design of the prism system ensures a slim form-factor for easy packing and carrying, and the body is made using both aluminum and polycarbonate to make them strong and durable. The entire optic is designed with a neutral weight distribution that ensures the center of gravity sits naturally in the hand to help prevent arm fatigue. Protective rubber armor and raised palm pads provide a slip-resistant grip, while their large textured focus wheel makes them easy to use — especially in cold and wet weather, or when wearing gloves. The optical tubes are O-ring sealed to make them waterproof and nitrogen-filled to prevent internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature and environmental conditions. Tethered objective lens caps ensure they are close at hand when needed and the one-piece ocular rainguard allows for fast deployment in the field.

[Roof (BAK4)] Picked these out of the few at this size. Very nice glasses, compare very well to my others. Clarity and depth of field very good, very wide field of view. Makes a great walking glass , I don't leave home without them. If you need something that can be held steady these will work. They were collimated properly and the case has a belt loop . Very lightweight

[Roof (BAK4)] These binocs completely live up to the manufacturer's description, and are an excellent value for the money. I can actually use them comfortably with glasses on (a first for me). They are so light I will just leave them in my bag ready for every walk.

[Roof (BAK4)] I can't say enough good things about these binoculars. I spent a lot of time researching different options and I feel that I made the right choice.
They are exceptionally well made and the image is clear and sharp across the field of view.
I am particularly fond of the adjustable 3 click eye cup. It is the first pair of binoculars that I can easily use while wearing glasses.
I highly recommend them.

[Roof (BAK4)] Many reviews to read from on Amazon.com as well. Bhphoto had the better price even after exchange for us living in Canada. I already own a 500$ pair of 10x50 roof for stargazing and a 8x42 monocular. For me this was the perfect do all. The stability is so good that i can actually see more then some 8x42 and cheaper 10x42 binoculars I've tried. The wide field of view is appreciated in dense trees and the min viewing distance is still very low for a porro prism. Read other reviews as they can get really into depth about the lens characteristics. It's not roof flat and is very 3D like. Image is soft around the edges but nothing distracting and perhaps what gives this a better experience when you focused on something specific. This is a unique instrument and I don't see myself ever getting rid of it. Although it's not nitrogen purged, I reached out to Opticron and they actually put one in the freezer to see how it would defrost at room temp. I haven't used it in the rain just yet. One day I want to get the Kawa 6.5x32 to compare to this. All the best .

[Roof (BAK4)] Binoculars work great. The focus is wonderful and the distance is surprisingly clear. I was not expecting these to be as good as they are, especially for the price.

[Roof (BAK4)] These are very useful and really good for the price. They have a nice wide view and a good depth of field. The compact shape means that the binocular' weight is close to your face, which with the lower magnification makes for an image that's easy to keep steady. The eyecups are nice for rubber; at first I thought twist-out would be a big improvement but as is, it's quick and easy to bring them to eye. They fit big and smal IPDs and are ready to pass betwee users.
I thought about rating them at 4 stars since comparison with models 3X-10X in cost shows expected superior optics, but optics on these are nice and judged on their own terms, I think they hit as much as can be expected, so I guess that's a 5.
