Premium solid black walnut is carefully milled into a headphone housing, showcasing a design that beautifully echoes the artistry of traditional Japanese woodworking. These headphones are assembled one by one in limited quantities at a Japanese factory, marking a special commemoration of Fostex's 50th anniversary.

The design draws inspiration from the captivating natural phenomenon where sunlight produces a radiant glow as it filters through the spaces amidst trees. This precision-machined design not only upholds structural rigidity but also effectively eliminates the generation of modal vibrations. Each opening is meticulously sized to prevent resonance at particular frequencies.

Leveraging years of accumulated expertise, biocellulose fibers are skillfully blended with other materials under optimal conditions. This results in achieving a low specific gravity, high Young's modulus, and high internal loss. These properties enable the faithful reproduction of the beautiful, delicate, high-resolution mid-high frequencies. The inclusion of a free edge enables the accurate reproduction of low midrange frequencies with substantial amplitude.

The magnetic circuit boasts a 50mm driver unit with an impressive magnetic flux density of 1 Tesla. This ultrastrong magnetic circuit ensures minimal distortion and a wide dynamic range.

Aluminum is widely employed for mechanical components to attain a superior quality feel while keeping the product lightweight. Incorporating high specific gravity resin for the baffle plate effectively minimizes resonance noise, resulting in exceptional resolution, a lush midrange, and high-quality bass reproduction.

  • The detachable headphone connection terminals are rhodium plated to enhance hardness, abrasion resistance, and corrosion resistance, ultimately boosting their reliability.
  • Pure copper headphone cable: HiFC cables constructed from pure copper and enhanced through specialized processing are employed to ensure impeccable conductivity, enabling a precise rendition of the full spectrum of bandwidth.

  • Premium artificial leather pad with a soft texture and a low-resilience cushion.
  • Provides superior comfort and exceptional sound isolation.

Q: 5. where was this product made?

Q: 6. It is priced the same as the (black & Red) Clear MG "Professional" but this Chestnut colored one is NOT labelled "Professional". Is it a "Lower Standard Tool" than the professional (or was the person typing in the description negligent to the details)?

A: The product names are listed in the same manner as Focal lists them on their website and in the product manuals. The Focal Clear MG Open-Back Headphones - Chestnut and Mixed Metal Finish (B&H # FOFCLEARMG) does not list "Professional" in the title and it includes two different cables than those that come with the black and red Focal Clear MG Professional Open-Back Headphones (B&H # FOCLEARPROMG). The Clear MG comes with a 9.8' balanced cable with a 4-pin XLR connector and a 3.9' unbalanced cable with a 3.5mm connector, as well as a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter. The Clear MG Professional comes with a 16' unbalanced coiled cable with a 1/4" connector and a 3.9' unbalanced cable with a 3.5mm connector, as well as a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter. The specs for both models are exactly the same, but they seem to be marketing to different users which is why the included cables are different. Focal mentions that the Clear MG is for home use while the Clear MG Professional is for studio use. Here are links to the manufacturer's information pages for both models: Clear MG - http://www.focal.com/en/headphones-0/headphones/for-home/clear-mg Clear MG Professional - http://www.focal.com/en/clear-mg-professional-exceptional-headphones-for-music-creators

Q: 9. Does it come with a case?

A: The AKG K 240 Studio do not ship with a case.

Q: 10. Is it good for musicians(keys)

A: I am a musician and home recording enthusiast. I had a pair of these headphones 20 years ago and I decided to buy them again. They are just really good, basic, headphones. Whether you play keys or other instruments should not be what makes you decide. Headphones should give an accurate, flat response for whatever music you listen to so you can make decisions about your tone. I really dont want to spend over $100 for headphones. I only use these at night (when its too quiet to listen to studio monitors or recording when you cant have the monitors bleed thru the track so these were really the choice that made the most sense for me.

[Gold] great head-phone! If you listen to hiphop,r&b or any music in general, you need this. Bass is deep, both mids and highs are great. Headphone works ok with your mobile devices, but you will ge greatly rewarded if you power this with a amp.

[Gold] If you want to mix in an untreated room, this is the way to go. Even just listening music is a total experience with these, you can hear multiple levels and where they are supposed to be, real nice. For the price they are worth it over treating a room, especially if you are modular with your studio.

[3.745 lb] What to say, I love them in every way and can’t Waite for the Anniversary Blue Sapphire which I’ve already ordered and paid for through B&H. I also love B&H

[1x 1/4" TRS] Pros: The best compliment I can pay these are this: When I listen to music on them, I have yet to wish for more treble or bass or vocal clarity. They disappear on my head and I can just truly enjoy what I'm listening to. For the price, especially compared to the cost of other planar headphones, that is epic. Cons: I would suggest watching Z Reviews' Youtube video on all of the Mk3 headphones to get an idea on the differences and comfort mods between the three. (https://youtu.be/SpRCK6CVdis - Children beware, there is swearing in the video.) I think his review is spot on, in just about every aspect of this. (Disclaimer: I haven't heard the 40RPs, just the 20's and 50's.) First Con: The stock earpads. They are super thin, and not very comfortable - but to be honest, not hurtful. They are essentially ON-EAR headphones with the stock pads, as your earlobes will make contact with the inner driver area. The Shure HPAEC1540 and 1840 pads are hands down the most comfortable and best sounding pads I've found for the T20RPs. I like the 1840 pads just a bit more than the 1540. Second Con: The headband is thinly padded. It isn't uncomfortable, but can be improved upon. I went with the Mr. Speakers leather headband, and they just float on my head now. No pressure points becoming sore after hours of listening. The hardest part of installing this was figuring out where in the house I left my screwdriver. Third Con: Sensitivity. These are not easy to drive. Your smartphone will not suffice. If you need an inexpensive amp, I suggest the Micca OriGen+, or one of the many Fiio products. I listen to mostly rock, classic rock, metal, edm, blues, and a limited number of jazz and classical tracks. I would describe my listening preferences as being 1/2 way between bass-head and audiophile. I love bass, want it loud, but do not want it trampling over the rest of the music. I purchased the T20RP Mk3.

[Gold] Managed to nab the emerald editions and they look as fantastic as they sound. Coming from Audeze LCD2s which are great as well but just uncomfortable for longer listening sessions. The TH900mk2s are lightweight in comparison and very comfortable. I also needed a closed back design for listening at night when the wife is asleep but didnt want to compromise sound quality, and these dont disappoint. Soundstage is still good, smooth across the lows/mids/highs, doesnt seem to be missing or lacking anywhere. I expect to enjoy these for a long time to come.

[Gold] The HD 800 S and HD 820 sound great AND look amazing using these cables with the HDV820. The 4.4mm balanced also works great with Sony Signature series including NW-WM1Z Walkman and TAZH1EH DAC/AMP.

[2" / 50 mm] I will say I do really enjoy this headphone. Even with my cheaper amp/dac. (fx audio dac x6 is what is being used here.) Even though I can tell with a better one I would get more out of the headphone.

It is on the warmer end but still fairly v shaped. Though for me the mids still were clear.

Basically how I describe it balance wise bass is 15, treble is 12, and mids are 10.

Still has what I call the planar separation so it didn't lose that planar sound.

Though still I would recommend if you want to get the most out of this headphone you want a decent dac/amp.

[5 Hz to 45 kHz] Excellent build quality, very premium feeling. a bit heavy but not a deal breaker for me since it's quite comfortable.
I tried Sennheiser HD650, too warm for me, the veil is real and I don't like that mellow feeling. I also tried beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro, while I love the soundstage and crisp sound, the treble is too sharp for my taste, every sibilance annoys me.
So my goal was to find a balance between two, a perfect combination of those two. Focal clear hits that exact sweet spot. I know they're not in the same price range but I like what I hear from clear from first moment. The only compromise I'm making is...well, cost.
I'm using a very basic schiit stack and based on my research and what I hear, it's enough.

[Open-Back] I got them a week ago and man this headphones pack a punch. I really wanted to try open-back style headphones for the experience so I went with these and I don't regret it. Best sound I've got from headphones under $$. Don't expect a bass that will make your head shake, these are open-back, they wont provide you with that kind of bass. They'll give you a DEEP BASS experience, meaning that the bass will sound clear, deep and powerful yet detailed. A bass that will make the music sound full without making you feel like you have a boom box stuck in your ear. The clarity of these it's a great thing. You can identify things you didn't know were in your songs. I have played classical, jazz, rock, metal, hardcore, trap, almost any genre I could think of and these babies delivered. If you have a good player that support FLAC files, prepare to be amazed by the T20RP's. They sound so good that you will start noticing how bad some music out there has been produced. They have a bit of a high impedance so I'll have to get a portable amplifier to take them to another level. They also look cool, some people may not like the look of them but I find it rad.
