The Nikon NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 SE Lens with UV Filter Kitfrom Nikon NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 SE Lens with UV Filter Kitis an ultra-compact and lightweight FX-format prime lens with a traditional Nikon heritage design. This Special Edition lens inherits its design from the classic NIKKOR lenses released around the same time as the Nikon FM2 film SLR camera, with features that faithfully reproduce the designs of that time, such as knurling, and a prominent control ring. The lens is designed to be a versatile wide-angle lens well-suited to a range of subjects, including landscape, architecture, and reportage. With an f/2.8 max aperture, this fast, bright lens offers beautiful details at a standard focal length. Complementing the optical design, a multi-focus system, which employs two stepping motors, helps to realize impressively fast, accurate, and quiet focus performance, along with full-time manual focus override, to suit both stills and video needs. Additionally, a programmable control ring can be set for intuitive adjustment over a variety of camera and exposure settings. It makes for a great carry-around lens for spontaneous moments at any time of day.

The position of the focus groups is precisely controlled, resulting in extremely accurate and high-speed AF control

[Autofocus] Nice for the money... Does what it's intended to do.

[f/2.8] I am basically a portrait photographer, but I also enjoy the outdoors and adventure wild camping. I've often needed a wide angle lens for many situations but never seemed to have one in my kit.
I was so pleased when Nikon released this Z 28mm and was able to round out my kit. It is a beautiful lightweight addition with beautiful results.

[0.2x] Wanted a small, light walk around lens for my X and this 28mm ƒ2.8 fits the bill. It works well with the sensor to deliver great photos at all ranges and f stops. The only problem with this lens is that I don't have any excuses for a bad photo.

[Nikon Z] Just needed a simple prime lens with a good aperture and the old school feel to it was perfect. Reminded me of using my Dad's old 35mm Nikon.

[0.745 lb] Great lightweight lens. I love the retro look when it's on my black Nikon Z fc. Just the right focal length for landscape and street photography. Provides crisp images when shooting at one to two stops below maximum aperture.

[Nikon Z] I picked up this lens as an introduction to Z mount lenses and immediately took it on a trip to the beach for a week. I brought along some F mount lenses too but this Z 28mm rarely left my camera. It was well suited for carrying around to capture scenic beach photos. As suggested in other reviews, the Sensei Wide-Angle Rubber Lens Hood (52mm) is a nice accessory for this lens as well.

[Full-Frame] I find myself using this lens more often than my larger S lenses because it is so light, compact and versatile as a daytime walkaround lens. It has mostly lived on my Z6ii since I bought it. I love the images so far; seems to produce very nice colors and micro-contrast. It's a great looking lens too, and the focus ring turns buttery smooth. I added a Vello 52mm hood to protect the front element and the lens-cap clips right into it.
