Bottom line is that this SSD is blazing fast and is no slouch when it comes to loading games, fileels, apps, or transferring files to and from the drive. The WD SN850x is a close competitor, but what makes the 990 Pro stand out is probbaly the sustained read/write speeds and the Magician software. Samsung Magician is just a great app for anything you need to use or check the status of your Samsung drive or other drives in your system. The only catch is that you cannot clone data to a non-Samsung disk; only from another brand to Samsung, so that's not so convenient.

[0.025 lb] Priced right. Delivery was on time. B & H answered my questions in a timely and detailed manner. I put the Viper4300 in a Acasis 40 Gbps M.2 Name SSD Enclosure with a built in cooling fan that is compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4. It is external storage for my new M2 MacStudio purchased from B & H and Abe was great help with that purchase. I found plugging the enclosure into the 1st Thunderbolt port (closest to the ethernet port) on the back of the MacStudio was important. This port has a Thunderbolt USB4 Bus 0 address in the Apple Hardware Thunderbolt/USB4 Device Tree and everything to register as a Thunderbolt 4 device. When it was plugged into the 3rd or 4th port it would only show up as a USB 3.1 Device which meant it would not run at the higher transfer rate of 40 Gbps. The only thing that would have made this better is if B & H carried the Acacis enclosure to make it one stop shopping.
