Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will these lenses with EF-mount be compatible with 0.71x focal reducers?

A: The DZOFilm VESPID Cine Prime 10-Lens PL Mount and EF Mount Kit will be compatible with both types. More importantly is what system it is being used on, which is needed to answer this question properly.

Q: 2. Does the Vespid Cyber image match the non-Cyber Vespid lenses?

A: Yes, The DZOFilm VESPID Cyber lenses will image match other Vespid lens models.

Q: 3. Will the PL mount hit the internal ND's of an Alexa Mini or the new Burano while focusing?

A: The NiSi ATHENA Prime T2.4/1.9 Full-Frame 5-Lens Kit (PL Mount) have not been tested with the new Sony BURANO 8K Digital Motion Picture Camera (B&H # SOBURANO). There is no interference, however, the distance is really close for the ARRI ALEXA Mini LF and Lens Mount Set (LPL), B&H # ARALXMLFM. The full length of protrusion on the rear element is 25.5mm.

Q: 4. Hello. Can these Cyber primes transfer metadata through the USB c port on the Red Komodo-X?

A: At this time the DZOFilm VESPID Cyber prime lenses are only designed to support the DJI RS 3 Pro and DJI LiDAR Range Finder.

Q: 5. Will these fit PL to RF focal reducers?

A: No, the DZOFilm VESPID Cine Prime 10-Lens PL Mount and EF Mount Kit is not designed for the DZOFilm Marlin 1.6x Expander for PL Lens to RF-Mount Camera since the Vespid lenses are full frame, and the adapter is for Super 35mm lenses for use with full frame sensors.

Q: 6. Do these lenses cover the 33x44 sensor of GFX cameras? Or, are they intended for crop video shooting?

A: Yes, the NiSi ATHENA PRIME 40mm T1.9 Full-Frame Lens fully covers the entire sensor.

Q: 7. What comes in the nd mount is it empty is clear ?

A: The "clear," option on the NISI Athena prime lenses is an actual clear glass filter. A filter needs to be in place as part of the optical path

Q: 8. Any lens works with the DJI Lidar System. There is no motor in the Cyber lens. What data is being transferred through the cable?

A: Any Cinema lens can be used with the DJI Lidar. However, the DZOFilm VESPID Cyber data connection passes aperture and focus data to assist with VFX and post-production workflows.

Q: 9. Is the body aluminum? I haven't seen any mention in the literature about the housing.

A: The NiSi ATHENA Prime T2.4/1.9 Full-Frame 5-Lens Kit is made of aluminum construction.

Q: 10. How deep is the PL mount? As in, how far into the mount does it extend.

A: The farthest the flange extends is nearly 30mm on the NiSi ATHENA Prime T2.4/1.9 Full-Frame 5-Lens Kit (PL Mount). The rear protrusion itself extends nearly 12mm from the cone.

[T2.4] I've only done tests on location with these before the shoot I've been planning next week... These lenses have a dreamy, droopy, anamorphic look wide open, but I wouldn't suggest using them wide open unless you need a dreamy look. Super soft wide open. At T2.8 it gets better but T4 is where it actually gets sharp. For more context, I'm shooting on a C70, and we know that camera is on the softer side...

Aperture/Focus rings are smooth and a pleasure to use.

Focus breathing is not great, but depending on the shot your going after, it could be ok. They do some funky things when panning or handheld. I plan to use these lenses mostly locked off, on a slider, dolly, etc for nice smooth controlled shots with an artistic look.

Definitely recommend.

[Full Frame] Love this lens! But I have it setup with the DJI Lidar RS as well and haven't used it on it's own outside of basic testing.

The lens itself is very nice - solid construction with a decent front loaded weight, and an easy enough to balance shimming system for mount swapping. The glass offers a lot of character with minor fringing and fairly low distortion, get it for that classic softer cine look and don't expect it to be the cleanest/sharpest lens around. I personally love how it rolls off the highlights and still gives details in the skin but also a bit of softness, when paired with my c70.

All that said, I bought this lens as part of a whole setup to solve a specifc problem, and for that purpose I couldn't be happier! I shoot mainly with a c70 in solo operating conditions as a b-cam op. This lens not only solves most of my focusing issues, but it also serves as the fastest setup with it's auto calibration feature when paired with DJI's Lidar RS. Now I get a decent jump in hitting focus while in auto via the Lidar mod, and I have the added benefit of more unique cine lens look vs my native Canon DSLR glass. It's awesome, and has performed perfectly for me so far! I only wish that they'd release a wider 21mm Cyber or maybe a 16 or 18 instead.

[ARRI PL] I bought this on the recommendation of a friend who consults for many of the most well-known lens manufacturers (think of the names you know). While it's not anamorphic, it is a beautiful, well-behaved, full-frame lens, and a welcome addition to the lens locker. Crisp, without being clinical, and having a gorgeous vintage vibe from the lens coatings. I'll echo what others have said regarding the close proximity of the aperture ring to the lens mount, but other than that, I've really enjoyed it, so far.

[2.41 lb] I got this NiSi lens with a few others to have in my kit for commercial and branded content work. The image is super clean and neutral which gives a lot of flexibility in the type of work I can do with it - whether corporate or something more artistic. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a versatile lens!

[ARRI PL] I won’t say that the other reviewer is wrong, cause he very well could have gotten a bad one, but this PL adapter fits my 6k full frame perfectly. Extremely snug fit with minimal to no wiggle. Have to really pull at it to get wiggle. My Blazar Remus PL’s fit extremely well and snug on the adapter end (as they should since it locks). All in all it’s a perfect adapter for me.

[Full Frame] I purchased the 31mm Dulens lens & don't regret it. I enjoy the color rendition of this lens. It's a sharp lens and it has a dare I say Vintage look lol. Its a small & light weight lens and packs a punch. It doesn't Flare as much as I thought it would - to mitigate some flaring just add a
Matte Box when shooting out doors. I also like alternating from Full frame 31mm to Super 35 and get closer to a 50mm look with this lens. It lives on my Lumix s5iiX camera 70% of the time. It pairs well with the FotodioX Pro Lens mount Adapter Arri PL to L mount cameras. Keep in mind the Aperture ring is a little tight to turn but I would say its a good thing when using this lens - you don't want the aperture ring to turning easily when in use. This lens is definitely worth considering when shopping for your next budget Cinema Lens. Cheers!

[T2.4] Incredible lenses that punch way above their weight class! Blown away by the build quality and image quality. The only thing I'd change is adding a longer lens! Like a 110mm or 135

[T22] I bought a set of Viltrox anamorphic lenses, which are amazing, but I wanted something smaller and lighter for my FX6/Ronin 4D. These Blazar lenses are a lot of fun. I only have the 65 so far, which I find wide enough for most situations without having the issues in the corners that the 45 had. Waiting to try out their new ones, I just need something slightly wider and another slightly tighter. Waiting to hear what they say about the new additions.

[46.0 mm] Recently got these lenses and have used them for almost two months across various projects, from commercials in New York to a short film in Miami. Here's what stood out:

- Exceptional build quality.
- Impressive brightness with an aperture of 1.9, resulting in beautiful bokeh.
- Consistent weight across the lenses – a real game changer when working with gimbals.
- Comes with a good quality practical carrying case for five essential lenses.
- Top-notch optical performance: no focus breathing noticed, acceptable distortion.

For indie filmmakers, these are a top pick. Highly recommended.

[46.0 mm] These lenses are phenomenal for the cost. If you've worked with a variety of the more budget-friendly cine lenses, you'll tell the difference as soon as you hold this lens, but then you'll be blown away as soon as you see it through the monitor. I've been putting my gfx100ii with one of these lenses in the hands of my filmmaker friends and asking for first impressions and watching their response echo my own says it all.
