The M-shaped inverted dome TAM tweeter is the successor of the TNF tweeter from the previous Aria generation. It comprises an inverted dome cone made from an aluminium-magnesium alloy, which Focal has molded into the exclusive M shape. This innovative feature reproduces the treble more faithfully by going further into the high and low ends of the spectrum. Its directivity is even less that of the inverted dome tweeter, allowing for more flexibility in terms of listening position. Mechanically speaking, the M shape gives the dome much more rigidity, while reducing distortion even more.

More than 30 years of research and development into engineering a diaphragm that is light, rigid, well damped, and made of sustainable materials has lead Focal to the Flax sandwich or F cone. Flax is twice as light as fiberglass, because the fiber is hollow. It also has very-low elasticity, which makes it ideal to increase the flexural rigidity of the sandwich. To design a high-performance diaphragm, you have to optimize a complex set of criteria, which is, for the most part, contradictory. The composite solution using Flax in a sandwich structure with fiberglass skins is a very harmonious way of combining low mass with high internal damping, high velocity of sound, and high flexural rigidity.

The Flax cone is made in France exclusively by Focal since 2013. With their original design, the cone is entirely oriented towards acoustic performance. F cone is characterized by its natural sound, with low coloration, its richness of reproduction in the midrange register and its tighter bass.

The midrange speaker drivers of the Aria Evo X line boast the TMD. The Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) is a patented technology involving circular beads molded into the mass of the surround and judiciously sized and positioned. They stabilize how the surround behaves to avoid deformation of the cone and any negative impact on the dynamics, which leads to more faithfully reproduced midrange sound.

Founded in 1979, Focal continues to write its own history each day, driven by men and women who possess unique know-how. Focal is proud to manufacture exceptional products in their production workshops in Saint Étienne and cabinetry workshops in Bourbon-Lancy, France. Every day they honor this exclusive heritage, which has afforded Focal certification as a French Living Heritage Company and recognition worldwide.

Q: 1. Can I hook this to a radio instead of an amplifier? I have several speakers ran throughout my house and my radio has the output but I do not have an amp - just wondering if i will need an amplifier?

A: I hooked this unit up to the B speaker output of an older model Kenwood receiver. Unfortunately, the volume output was extremely low and I had to return the item. You should try the radio first but don't be surprised if you need an additional amplifier.

Q: 2. Will these batteries work with the Nucleus-M follow focus system?

A: The EVO Gimbals IMR-18650 High-Capacity Li-Ion 2600mAh Batteries (3-Pack) (B&H# EVO50696) are compatible with the Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Lens Control System (B&H# TINUCLEUSM). See below: https://bhpho.to/3RZDc2X

Q: 3. Will this baateries work on Feiyutech A2000?

A: Gimbals like the Feiyu A2000 work with 18650 type batteries. However, there are a lot of inconsistencies with this type of battery and the size. However, the EVO Gimbals IMR-18650 High-Capacity Li-Ion 2600mAh Batteries should work with you gimbal. Please note your gimbal requires four batteries.

Q: 4. Will these work in my Zhiyun Crane v2?

A: No, the EVO Gimbals IMR-18650 High-Capacity Li-Ion 2600mAh Batteries would not work with the Crane V2. The Zhiyun Crane V2 works with two 26500 Li-Ion Batteries. Unfortunately, the batteries are discontinued, and no longer carried by B&H. Zhiyun 26500 Lithium-Ion Gimbal Battery (3.7V, 3600mAh, Pair) BH #ZHNY00015

Q: 5. will this work with the weebill S?

A: This battery is listed for use with the Weebil S.

Q: 6. I have Audioengine HD4 bookshelf speakers that read "5 Ohms." If I have ONE pair running via the PSS4, do I have the Protect button on or off? If I have TWO pair running, do I have the Protect button on or off? Thank you!!

A: We do not recommend using the Audioengine HD4 Bluetooth Speaker System in conjunction with the Pyle Pro PSS4 4 High Power Speaker Selector, as the HD4 are active and the Pyle is meant to pass power and audio to passive speakers.

Q: 7. what amp works best?

A: Hi, Thank you for reaching out. Onkyo TX-NR515 AV amp, surround sound. The B channel, is stereo, this feeds the Pyle PSPVC6. I have all six pairs of speakers, independently volume controlled. Works Great

Q: 8. Can you use it as a selfie stick?

A: You could. It isn't too heavy in my opinion. Selfie sticks I have seen are quite a bit longer, but with the legs extended, it would probably suffice. Realize it wasn't designed for that and likely will not work as well as a tool made for that purpose.

Q: 9. Does this selector require both channels from an amplifier? I have a Public Address amp with one set of mono outputs (4 ohm minimum).

A: No, the right and left channels are independent. You can use them like two mono channels.

Q: 10. Will these batteries work with the Moza Air 2?

A: No, We only recommend using Moza brand batteries for their gimbal models. The EVO batteries may work but we do not guaranty this. Recommended battery is - Moza Li-Ion Battery for Moza Air 2 (4-Pack) BH #MOMCG7

[2-Way] Used Reikan FoCal Plus to calibrate 3 lens with a Canon 90D. Two lens were Canon L glass (200mm f/2.8 L II, 24-70mm f/2.8 L II) and one lens Tamron (10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II). Took less than 2 hours total including first time set-up of target, camera on tripod, and lighting (two desk lamps positioned close to target). Reikan FoCal Plus provided clear instructions and progress updates in each case, including very helpful set-up instructions for fine-tuning lighting and distances between camera and target. Ran several times for each lens to verify results. Very pleased with focus improvement for lenses, especially the Canon 200mm f/2.8 L II.

[1x Front-Firing] After having little success with the free methods to adjust the autofocus micro adjustment (AFMA) for my Canon 5dmkii, I decided to try FoCal Plus 2.0. It works amazingly well -- in fact for some cameras, like my 5dmkii, once the process is started, it is completely hands-free. Otherwise, you have to adjust the AFMA to what the program tells you during the test as it determines the best setting. Typically, that's 3 or 4 times during the test, I'm told. If you want the best performance from your lenses, invest in this product. The only bummer is that the program doesn't qualify for free shipping. What's up with that?

[MDF] Bought these to use with the rear satellite speakers that came with my new Enclave system. The stands are nice and sturdy on my carpet, and the swiveling tops are great!

[8 Ohms] I purchased these speaker stands for a couple reasons. I read that they come with two sets of speaker plates, so you can swap in large or small plates to accommodate speakers of different sizes. I am currently using a very large set of bookshelf speakers. These are probably the largest speakers could be and still be considered bookshelf speakers. Anyways, they work great for these speakers, and if I ever decide to use the stand with smaller speakers I will have the plates to do so. The second reason is the simple look and cable pass through. They have a nice powder coating type finish and allow for speaker cable pass through resulting in a nice look.

[2-Way] I have been using a pair of Tannoy Reveal monitors in my home studio for the last 20+ years, but to get decent frequency response I needed to use a 15 band graphic EQ and a Rane frequency analyzer... comes with a reference mic and a pink noise generator -- you try to adjust the EQ while watching the LEDs bounce up and down and adjust each band until the frequency response looks flat. I always had to tweak the EQ setting (maybe defeating the purpose) to make them sound more natural. Then I decided to upgrade my monitors. I went to the B&H store in NYC and listened to half a dozen, including Genelec, Yamaha, and others. I finally bought the Focal Alpha 65 EVO, which sounded the richest and yet were half the price of the Genelec 5. Bringing them home, they sounded much better with no EQ than the Reveals did with no EQ, but not as good as the EQ'd Reveals. I wanted to make sure I wasn't coloring the sound. So I bought the Sonarworks Reference 4 item. Well, it worked great. It comes with a very sturdy-looking reference mic. It was fairly easy to set up, it acquired sound points from about 36 spots in my listening area, and it took me about an hour to create a detailed frequency response curve. It has an application (and a plug in) that automatically corrects your computer's monitor sound output to flatten the speaker response. It seems to work great! The Focal monitors were fairly flat except for a peak at around 150 Hz, which the Sonarworks flattened, without having to resort to a graphic EQ. Unfortunately there's quite a bit of falloff below 100 Hz that I can measured, so beware... you will need a subwoofer with these monitors if you want to mix music. However, for general audio projects they would be a great addition to any studio.
