The Novoflex QuadroPod Mini Tripod Leg is a mini leg designed for the ambitious new Novoflex camera support system, which features four legs rather than the usual three, and a separate base (3 different bases are available separately) which accepts a tripod head (available separately). This aluminum mini leg attaches to the base of your choice with three other legs (not included) to create an extremely stable camera support with a working height from 2.8" to 10.2" (7 cm to 26 cm). Legs which provide a working height from 3.9" to 61" (10 cm to 155 cm)--3- or 4-section carbon fiber and 3- or 4-section aluminum--are available separately. Four legs provide increased stability and support for your camera and additional support accessories like suction mounts, clamps and spikes are available separately. And if you get nostalgic for the old tripod, one of the (optional) bases will even accept either three legs or four legs.

Q: 5. is it possible to unscrew the rubber feet ... and mount something different like a small tripod?

A: The foot can be removed to reveal a spike and the spike can unscrew with a 3/8" thread. Any tripod feet that has a 3/8" thread will attach.

A: The main legs are carbon fiber and the additional included mini legs are aluminum.

A: The Novoflex Universal Compact Bellows would be the bellows by itself. The Novoflex Universal Compact Bellows, B&H # NOBALF, does not come with a camera mount or lens mount adapter. [1] I do a lot of in-camera focus stacking photographing bugs. The slider allows me, with the tripod already in place, to slowly advance the camera towards the subject without scaring it away. Second, in combination with lens focusing, it lets me fine-tune the magnification. Third, it lets me adjust the stack's starting point without messing up the framing. The Novoflex Castel Mini II with its precise rack-and-pinion drive works smoothly and quickly for both coarse and fine adjustments, better than the more common and less expensive screw driven sliders. At first, I used a simple nodal rail in an Arca-style clamp which does the job but is much harder to adjust. It sags a little with the clamp loosened so that frame and focus point shift when the clamp is tightened. There is no play in the Novoflex, so this problem doesn't arise. The drive mechanism is stiff enough to hold the camera in place unless the rail is tilted a lot. For that situation, there is a locking knob. The rail is light enough to use on a tripod outrigger, unlike the lovely rails from the 1960s made by Minolta and other companies. I use it upside-down for more clearance between the main knob and the camera. Lest I come across as a Novoflex fanboy, let me say that the knurling on Novoflex knobs is so sharp-edged that it can take the skin off your fingers. And who, really, needs blue accents? 5

[0.18 lb] This macro rail is exceptional! It's tiny (6 long) but if you are going high magnification +5 macro all you really need is barely any movement. You do need something that can get get into really tight spaces and the other macro rail I tried kept hitting the table whenever I needed to get close to the subject. This one is hardly bigger than an Arca Swiss rail. BUT! What really sets this macro rail apart is the rack and pinion gearing (look it up). It's a very old idea (think steam age) but actually it's ideal for this situation. Much better than a worm, smooth, easy and wont slip. 5

[0.18 lb] I am using this in combination with the Kirk mini tabletop tripod (Made in the good ol' US of A). The Novoflex is compact and sturdy. What I like is it uses a standard 1/4 20 thread which can be tightened and loosened easily by hand. It also has a nifty look about it. 5

[1] The collar adds a muchly improved mounting point for the SL and the 24-90 lens combination. It is not necessary for the 90-280 since it comes with a robust, non-QR mounting point but can be used instead of the standard mount. It worked well with my Novoflex and Gitzo QR's. 5
