Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this be incorporated as a kit lens with the Z6?

A: It is certainly possible in the future but we don't if or when at this point.

Q: 2. Why would you choose aperture priority if it's fixed at f4-f6.3 ?

A: It allows the user to set a specific aperture value while the camera selects a shutter speed. It gives an end-user one less thing to worry about. The cameras internal meter will do all the work as far as shutter speed goes, we suggest using it while taking happy snaps at gatherings and etc so you can spend more time taking pics then worrying about exposure values.

Q: 3. Will MeFoto carbon fiber travel tripod support Nikon Z 600mm f/6.3 S with this LP-70 foot and Nikon Z8?

A: The MeFOTO GlobeTrotter Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod is strong enough to hold the Nikon Z 600mm f/6.3 S with this LP-70 foot and Nikon Z8.

Q: 4. If this lens has an aperture range of f4 to f36 how can I choose f11 for depth of field if i need greater depth ?

A: You will need to change the aperture on the camera. Please see this instruction manual from Nikon as it shows how to change the aperture. https://onlinemanual.nikonimglib.com/z7II_z6II/en/06_shooting_controls_01.html#aperture-priority_auto

Q: 5. What is the diameter of the front of the HB-109 Nikon lens hood?

A: The diameter of the Nikon HB-109 Lens Hood for NIKKOR Z TM 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens is approximately 4,4",

Q: 6. Has anyone determined the aperture/light reduction as one zooms to the 200mm telephoto fl? Where does the light falloff begin to drop as a function of the zoom focal length(s)?

A: The aperture will continue to get smaller as you zoom in until it reaches its F/6.3 size.

Q: 7. What is the length of the lens collar plus base, front to back in the longest dimension?

A: The total length of the Kirk Lens Collar for Nikon Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens is 153 x 132mm (L x H). The outer diameter on the collar is 95mm, while the inner diameter of the collar is 80mm.

Q: 8. How does this compare to AF-S 28-300 f3.5-5.6 if I wants an all purpose travel lens to go with Z6-II?

A: Compared to the 28-300mm lens this one is much sharper, faster focus and slightly smaller and lighter. It will also be a direct mount onto the Z 6II, so you would not need an adapter.

Q: 9. Does the captive locking knob prevent the knob from accidentally unlocking (like the Nikon knob can easily do??)

A: The captive locking knob on the Kirk Lens Collar for Nikon Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens prevents the knob from unlocking.

Q: 10. do you expect this lens to have a bundle option with the z50 when it is released?

A: I don't believe so, the 24-200mm is a full frame lens and the Z50 is a cropped sensor camera.

[0.2 lb] I use this on my lens primarily to keep it from getting scratched. It works and looks great. The only improvement I would suggest is that a mark or sticker be used to label each piece so that it is easier to follow the assembly instructions. Other than that, I am really happy with this product.

[Neoprene] Excellent protection for a large, expensive lens!

[0.2 lb] This is the fourth super-tele I have put a lens coat on. The others were also Nikons, a 200-400 f4, a 500 f4, the 600 f4 G model, and now the 600 f4 E lens. This one was by far the best fit and easiest to install. Good fit, easy install and extra protection for the lens against scratches and minor bumps. The only downside is that they are way over-priced for what the are - but no one else makes them, so this is the only option.

[Neoprene] Kind of a love hate relationship with these covers. They do offer great protection without any damage to your expensive investment. But they don’t last and are way too expensive for what they are. I called lenscoat on a previous cover that fell apart before the alleged warranty. They will not back product. Response was that was normal wear.

[0.2 lb] Fairly easy to apply and had all the necessary openings positioned correctly. Comes with instructions but pretty self explanatory

[Neoprene] There's not much to say about this lens cover. It's easy to put on, protects the lens from the elements and it looks a bit more interesting comparing to the traditional camouflage. It does the job!

[Neoprene] Love this lens coat, helps the lens not get too hot on warm days and was easy to put on.

[Neoprene] This sleeve comes in six parts, making it easy to install without having to remove the lens mounting foot and ensuring that the sleeve does not interfere with camera function. Used along with other camo gear (jacket, tripod leg sleeves, Wimberley sleeve) it effectively breaks up the lens silhouette. Perfect for wildlife photographers.

[0.2 lb] I purchased the lens cover for two reasons. First it provides protection to the surface of the lens. Second I do wildlife photography and need my equipment camouflaged. It was very easy to place over the lens and looks good.

[0.2 lb] Cover fits like a glove. All sections fit tight and take some effort to get in place. But this means the cover is not going anywhere. Sections are available for the entire lens, but I chose to leave the focus and control ring uncovered. I just prefer the feel of the actual lens. Would recommend this for anyone who want some extra protection for their lens.
