The Black Box VX-HDMI-TP-100M XR HDMI Extender Kitby Black Box, comprised of a local transmitter unit and a remote receiver unit, drives uncompressed HD video, audio, and control signals with a maximum video resolution of 1080p up to 328' away from your HDMI or DVI-D source using one CATx cable (CAT5e/6). A built-in IR extender function allows IR remote control of source devices from a remote viewing location. To do this, the extender sends IR commands received near the display back to the source devices. The extender supports 340 MHz/3.4 Gbps of HDMI video bandwidth per channel and 10.2 Gbps on all channels allowing transmission of 1080p 3D video and digital 7.1 surround audio. HDBaseT technology reduces susceptibility to EMI/RFI noise over the full 328' distance. EDID and HDCP communications are supported, meaning you can also extend content from a Blu-ray player or other protected-content source. For high-quality sound, the XR HDMI and IR extender transmits uncompressed LPCM signals as well as compressed audio, such as DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio, as part of the HDMI signal.

A: Nope, it's a 1-1 connection and must be a direct link using the network cable.

Q: 2. Has anyone tried running a 150 ft cat5e with it?

A: Yes. It works fantastic at any length. I personally have run it at 100ft with no signal loss and don't expect it to at 150 either. You can run 200+ with no issues, it's Ethernet baby!

Q: 3. what is the maximum distance for 1080p on CAT6?

A: When using a HDMI extender like the Vanco Evolution 4K HDMI Extender the maximum distance we would recommend sending the signal over Cat6 is 100m or 328ft.

Q: 4. Do the 3.5mm jacks output audio from the HDMI input signal, or are they independent from the HDMI input and require their own 3.5mm input?

A: If you input HDMI only, the HDMI and 3.5mm audio out is from the audio embedded in the HDMI. If you input 3.5mm audio, that overrides the HDMI audio and 3.5mm out.

Q: 5. Where do you get extra receivers without having to buy extra transmitters? Is there a link for that?

A: Unfortunately Muxlab only sells the MuxLab HDMI Wireless Extender Kit. They do not offer a receiver only option. At this time you would have to purchase the kit to add more wireless receivers.

Q: 6. I would need this specifically to send the HDMI output of a camera through a switcher to a live projector during a ceremony. The switcher would also have a laptop input. Will this unit support the transfer of the live video signal under these conditions?

A: Yes it will up to about 150 feet

A: Mine has been on 24/7 and fine since May.

Q: 9. I have two HDMI video cameras. I want to run them through a Roland V1-HD video mixer. I also plan on using to HDMI inputs from two laptop computers. Will this extender work for the two HDMI cameras? and will that affect the computer HDMI signal?

A: I would add that, although I haven't experienced any latency, I have noticed that there is some line skipping occasionally during fast moving content. I've only seen this once or twice but for that reason I wouldn't recommend using it in a professional multi-cam situation.

Q: 10. Does this come with one power supply or two?

A: Yes, the Evolution 4K HDMI Extender comes with a 12 VDC power supply.
