A: Hi, although i don't own an Element small yet, it does appear that you can remove the center column. There's a video on youtube that shows you how to mod your element small. Basically you unscrew the center column and place the ballhead directly onthe legs. Looks really nice and allows you to get very low. Obviously the trade off is that it doesn't go as high. The process is totally reversible and only take a couple of minutues.
