Full NDI integration means fast and powerful bidirectional audio and video workflows across Ethernet networks. The NDI standard enables broadcast-quality, low-latency, and frame accurate audio and video communication between multiple machines in real time on a simple, secure, and dependable IP network.

The NDI standard is also increasingly relevant in streaming and Cloud Mixing, allowing for direct connection into music creation software and connection to outside networks. With support from Twitch and OBS, the NDI protocol has also been embraced by online gamers, live streamers, and podcast professionals.

Choose the mode that fits your creative style and needs, and DLZ Creator XS tailors the display and controls to match.

  • Easy Mode: a no-fuss user interface that’s the fastest path to recording your first episode for those who want to get great results without menu diving.
  • Enhanced Mode: expanded control over your sound and mix for those who want some customization without an overwhelming number of options.
  • Pro Mode: total control and fully customizable for those who know what they want and how to get it.

Like it's larger sibling, DLZ Creator XS features adaptive AI technology to help you get the perfect mix every time.

  • Mix Agent is your personal audio assistant, guiding you through setup and setting gain levels
  • Automatic Gain sets your input levels for you
  • AutoMix manages levels for up to two mics, so everyone can be heard, even when everyone is speaking at the same time

Whether you're creating content for podcasts, YouTube, or live streaming, the DLZ Creator XS has you covered:

  • Connect up to 2 microphones and 3 external devices—including a smartphone—using analog, Bluetooth, or USB
  • 2 combo XLR-1/4" inputs can accommodate microphone-, line-level, and instrument-level sources
  • Onyx80 mic preamps provide up to 80 dB of gain, so you can get loud without fear of distortion
  • 2 unbalanced 1/4" inputs and a single stereo 3.5mm jack can be used for analog input sources
  • Record or stream to a computer via USB or record to a microSD card or USB flash drive
  • The unit can function as a 14x4 USB audio interface to Mac/PC
  • Ethernet audio connection via NDI protocol for supporting up to 2 independent PC streaming setups
  • Using mix-minus with your Bluetooth-connected smartphone brings a caller into your mix with no audible echo
  • Up to 2 guests can monitor the audio via independent 1/4" headphone outputs

  • 7” high-resolution full-color touch display with antiglare coating provides a quick and intuitive workflow
  • 4 Quick Control knobs provide a variety of easy to access mode-dependent functions, including headphone volume and parameter controls
  • Instantly trigger samples via dedicated backlit buttons
  • Additional backlit buttons are provided for mute, solo, and navigation functions on each channel
  • Onboard vocal processing helps you sound like a pro with 3-Band Parametric EQ, High-Pass Filter, De-Esser, Compression, and Noise Gate functions
  • Atomizer Reverb and Chronotronic Delay effects are available for additional sound sweetening and or accent effects

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this be fully compatible with Linux as well? if not, what would be missing?

A: The Mackie DLZ Creator XS Adaptive Digital Streaming Mixer is currently not compatible with Linux computers.

Q: 2. Can I use this as an "audio-interface" via USB to record the inputs in Logic Pro and other DAW software?

A: Yes, the Tascam Mixcast 4 Podcast Mixer, Recorder, and USB Audio Interface can be used as an audio interface to facilitate input connection over USB and serve as the audio source in DAW software programs such as Logic Pro.

Q: 3. How do I fit the shockmount to a microphone? I bought 2 of these for a Shure MV-7 and Blue Yeti X and the M20 thread is just huge.

A: The Auray Shockmount for Rode Podcast Mics and Mics with M20 Thread is not compatible for use with the Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone or the Blue Yeti X. The shockmount can only be used with microphones that have an M20 thread on the bottom. Neither the MV7 or Yeti X have any threading. The MV7 has its own built-in yoke mount and is not intended for use with a separate shockmount, and the Yeti X can be used with the Blue Radius III Shockmount (B&H # BLRADIUS3). For good examples of mics that have the M20 threading and do fit in the Auray Shockmount, take a look at the Rode Podcaster USB Broadcast Microphone (B&H # ROPODCASTER) and the Rode Procaster Broadcast-Quality Dynamic Microphone (B&H # ROPROCASTER).

Q: 4. Will this work with the Rode PodMic?

A: No, the diameter of the PodMic is much larger than the Auray SM-RM20 can accommodate. Additionally, the PodMic has an internal shock mount and is not intended to be used with an a separate shock mount since it is not needed.

Q: 5. With the PON sound pads, is it only possible to have one effect at at time programmed to each button?

A: Yes, each of the TASCAM MiNiSTUDIO Creator US-42B Podcast Studio's sound pads can only be set to play one sound at a time.

Q: 6. Does each headphone receive the same mix, or can the input levels be adjusted for each one?

A: Yes, each headphone output on the Tascam Mixcast 4 Podcast Mixer, Recorder, and USB Audio Interface receives the same mix. The only individual adjustments pertain to the output levels to the headphones. The Mixcast 4 does not provide the ability to customize a mix for each headphone output.

Q: 7. Anyone feeding the signal from this interface into adobe audition? My PC does not recognize it. Does it require the Tascam software to achieve this task? Does the Tascam software have the ability to edit? Thx for your time in advance

A: Also, in Audition you have to go into Settings Audio Hardware... and select MIniStudio as the default input and output. Running on a Mac so I can't give you the complete path but it is in Settings

Q: 8. Does it work with Mac?

A: Yes, the TASCAM MiNiSTUDIO Creator US-42B Podcast Studio is compatible for use with Mac, Windows, and iOS operating systems.

Q: 9. is this mainly an easy to use audio mixer used to add gain and tweak spectrum settings to live voice recordings which then gets sent to a computer for streaming along with whatever video is already there? this doesn't actually do any 'web streaming' right? there is no recorder right?

A: John S,The unit functions as an audio interface that includes a number of real-time effects. It is designed to be helpful in the production of podcasts and YouTube videos.Details on the production and possible applications explained here:a href= http://tascam.com/product/us-42/ target= _blank http://tascam.com/product/us-42//aThank you for your interest in TASCAM products.

Q: 10. If I was doing a remote interview, could I run audio from a computer or phone in through the front headphone mic input? I would be running it in either Audacity or Avid Pro First.

A: In the scenario described, it is not recommended to connect a remote audio source to the headset mic input on the front panel of the Tascam MiNiSTUDIO Creator US-42B Podcast Studio, as this input cannot be used at the same time as the main microphone Input 1. A more preferable connection could be made using the Aux input on the front panel instead.

[4.545 lb] This is a console for streaming very sencible, the manufacturer has not recommended which microphones to use, however I have tried two dynamic microphones and are not recommended. It works very well with professional cardioid microphones. US-42 has what it takes to broadcast an interview or a special program from anywhere. It is a good acquisition.

[3] Really love this unit. It has a ton of features for the size and price. Slight learning curve with the software, but it works awesome once you understand it. The only thing I cannot figure out is how to isolate the PON sounds without loopback on all sounds in Windows. Might not be possible, but very happy with flexibility and portability overall.
