This Sirui Quick Release Plate for PF Monopodsfrom Sirui Quick Release Plate for PF Monopodsis made to work with PF-series monopods and can be used with compatible quick locking heads thanks to its fast and efficient design. Simply pull down on the top collar of your monopod head and the plate pops out. The plate allows you to have multiple pieces of equipment ready to swap when you're on the go, and the included reversible mounting screw can be flipped between its 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 ends for compatibility with a wide array of equipment. Dual bubble levels are also featured, so you can be evenly alligned when shooting on uneven ground.

A: I have no idea of what an RRS clamp is; however apart from attaching cameras to my tripod, I have used this product very successfully by mounting heavy pastel painting boxes to my tripod during plein air painting trips.

Q: 4. Does the brass pin push in for use with mirrorless camera?

A: The pin is meant for use with a camcorder, not any mirrorless or DSLR camera. It is spring loaded so it will not interfere when you mount the plate to a mirrorless or DSLR camera.

Q: 5. I bourght a Sirui head before. that head now is not good. The ball is too tight even I put some lube. Very tight to turn. Also, I found the hinges/switch has rubber grip that could slip the switch when the temperature is different. So, my question here is: (1) how smooth the ball is; (2) is the whole ball head made of metal material?

A: The ball sphere is smooth on this head and it is constructed of aluminum.

Q: 6. Does anyone know if this plate will work with a RRS quick release lever? (The lever, not the screw) I'm thinking of purchasing the BH-40 and already own the Sirui plate and ball head.Thanks.

A: While we have not heard of that plate/head combination, we see no reason it would not work and feel that it will work perfectly.

Q: 8. More to my question ( D ring Nikon D90 or 7000 attached to a 18-105, 80-200 etc) can this plate attached to the ball head accommodate a battery drive attached.?

A: I have a D7200--probably maximum weight for this tripod. The plate loosens each time I move the angle of the camera. I just can't tighten it enough---maybe I'm doing something wrong. But the first time used the tripod the plate fell off as soon as I took the camera off the tripod. I didn't realize it at the time and had to order a new one. The second time I used it, I was aware of this and kept checking the camera. But had to remove and tighten plate to tripod several times. Does this help?

Q: 9. What quick release clamps are compatible with this plate? I have a K-10x ball head and would like to mount a quick release clamp on my video head, using the same quick release plate (the TY-50X). I've found a few options (Arca-Swiss Quick Release Clamp (60mm) and the Arca-Swiss Quickset FlipLock Round Quick Release Clamp ) but I'm not sure if they will fit.

[Yes] I love this plate. It is solid. I use it support a focus stacking rail, and the 2 screws do a great job stabilizing the rail on a ball head. The plate is well built, and well machined. Worth the money. Fits nicely into the Arca grooves, and slides effortlessly. 5

[0.35 lb] I have three Surui Q.R. plates so I can keep them on the optics that I use the most. They are well built and work as designed. I use a Canon 70d camera with a 100-400 lens for wildlife photos the most. I have TY-50X and they mount on a Surui G20-X ball head on a Surui N-2204x tripod. 5

[Yes] I was gifted this when I was in need of a tripod ball-head for my Sirui tripod. Since I have received it, I have used it as my primary tripod head and have found it great to work with. The build quality is superb, and I do not worry about damaging it with everyday use. The matte finish is good as to not leave fingerprints everywhere. The three wheels and clamp on the head work and I have found no faults with them. Additionally, the two rotation wheels along with the ball provide a very wide range of maneuverability. Finally, the quick release mount is also of strong build, is quick and simple, and small enough to fit on my full frame Canon 5DS R while still allowing me to access the battery compartment without having to take it off. I very much recommend this tripod head for anyone who needs a high weight capacity carrying ball head. 5
