The robust Sunwayfoto T2840CE Carbon Fiber Tripod XB-38 Ball Headfrom Sunwayfoto T2840CE Carbon Fiber Tripod XB-38 Ball Headis a versatile, feature-rich carbon fiber tripod with a load capacity of 35.3 lb and maximum height of 52.4", and up to 64" with the center column fully extended. The center column is removable and the head plate can be mounted directly to the leg apex for low perspective or macro shooting. The T2840CE folds to a compact 20.1" for storage or travel, and weighs only 3.1 lb.

The carbon fiber legs have water-, dust-, and sand-resistant sealed twist-lock joints for reliable use in harsh environments with a minimum of maintenance. The legs have independent spread and open to three locking angles, making it possible to level the leg set on uneven terrain, and also achieve a minimum height of 3.9" for low perspective angles and macro imaging. The2.28" tripod head platform has a ballast hook, and a reversible 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 threaded mounting stud. Multiple 1/4"-20 sockets allow accessories like compact LED lights, microphones and more to be directly attached.

Q: 1. I'm looking to change ball heads, any idea what size I need?

A: Depends on what your setup. It uses a standard 3/8 thread for the head mount so it can accept any standard tripod head. Just know that the legs can only handle so much weight and a bigger head means more bulk. The one it comes with is pretty capable. It has worked with my 70-200/2.8 on a 5D2 when I needed it in a pinch.

Q: 2. Is the included ball head the same as the Benro IN00 ball head?

A: It has the N00 ball head, which is similar but not exactly the same as the IN00. Works just fine on mine.

Q: 3. does this have a 3/8" stud?

A: Yes the Sirui R2204 Carbon Fiber Tripod has a 3/8-16 mounting stud for attaching a tripod head.

Q: 4. What is the total weight of the tripod and the ball head?

A: Mine weighed in at 3.01 lbs. The description is misleading as it implies that the system only weighs 2.2 lbs. Even the legs alone weighed 2.4 lbs. The ball head weighed about 0.6 lbs.

[4] I found this to be just the right size for a Gorillapod tripod and a perfect compliment for micro-4/3rds gear. Add to it ARCA compatibility and a low price and it is a definite winner. 5

[4] Light, good quality, collapses to a pretty small size, and extends to a very tall size. Keep in mind that it is pretty wobbly when it's fully extended, but it shouldn't be an issue if you're shooting with a remote trigger. 5

[Carbon Fiber] I am using this ball head on a monopod with a micro 4/3 camera. I wanted the ability to take vertical photos. A ball head isn't usually the best choice for this (I would use a "L" bracket if I could find one that would work with my camera) but this unit has a bit of drag built into it that enables it to work well for this purpose. Combined with a very low profile, the ability to fit in a Pelican 1520 attached to the monopod, ARCA compatibility and a VERY IMPRESSIVE build quality for me it was the perfect product. This ball head is sold at a very low price point and it even includes with a small pouch for storage. While small it does lock securely and I would trust it with my D610 with a 70-300. (If it goes on back order again, be patient, B&H will ship it when it becomes available.) 5

[4] This seems to be a very good copy of RRS small bullhead. I use it on on Gitzo 0 series tripod as well as Sunwayfoto own table tripod also a RRS clone. It is a perfect setup for some occasions. 5

[3/8"-16 Male] This is a great and affordable ballhead that I use primarily for overhead camera setup. I have this on a C-Stand and Arm Extension and it uses an Arca Swiss mount which I have plenty of. This really is a simple to use and simple to setup. I personally use a Impact Superclamp and Manfrotto 037 Reversible Short Stud, with 3/8 & 1/4-20 Threads, with all 3 combined it creates a sturdy setup which will hold my camera steady and safe. Highly recommended if you need a ball head for overhead camera shots. 5

[3 Positions] I was surprised to read that this little ball head can take 10 pounds of gear. Its really strong. Im using it with my Nikon D500 with the 200-500 lens on a Manfrotto monopod. Yes I would buy it again. 5

[Yes] Nice ball head, especially at the price. Can do more than the cheapest Really Right Stuff ball head for much less money. Only fault I could force is that the clamp is not removable. I would recommend it to a friend. 5
