The black RF Venue Stand-Mount Diversity Fin Antenna & DISTRO5 Bundleis a multipurpose antenna that reduces dropouts using a proprietary, cross-polarized hybrid design. It is compatible with diversity wireless microphone systems of any brand. The antenna features a mounting block with 1/4"-20, 3/8"-16, and 5/8"-27 threads to secure it on the stand of your choice.

The Diversity Fin combines one LPDA and one dipole antenna in an orthogonal (right-angle) configuration. One element captures vertically polarized waves and the other horizontally polarized waves—doing the same job as two shark-fin paddles. This design greatly improves RF and audio performance in high-profile live sound events, film and TV productions, or routine installations in schools and houses of worship.

To use, just connect both the A and B outputs (coaxial cables available separately) to any antenna distribution system or wireless receiver, and point the antenna toward the stage.

A Nylon cover protects the antenna against the elements for outdoor use.

A: Typically, these plates have a release button on the side and while holding that button down, you should be able to release your battery by sliding it upwards, off of the plate.

Q: 8. Is it okay to keep it in the rain or should the antenna be covered with a plastic bag?

A: The Lectrosonics ALP620 Perforated LPDA Shark Fin Style Antenna is not IP-rated; therefore, it cannot be left out in the rain. Using a plastic bag or rain cover to protect it will actually affect the wireless range of the antenna, making it prone to RF interference.

A: We are not seeing any restrictions regarding the use of the Core SWX Short Form Factor Hotswap Shark-Fin Mount Battery Mount (V-Mount, 4 x D-Taps) on a URSA Mini 12K.

[16 oz / 454 g] This antenna paired with a Shure UA844+SWB and a pair of Sennheiser EW-DX receivers for four channels of wireless mics. Reception from the RF Venue Diversity Fin is exceptional and provided dropout free performance where the antenna was indoors pointed toward and outdoor Wedding Ceremony location - line of sight through glass/walls at about 100 feet with two lav transmitters in groom and officiant's pockets and a EW-DX handheld on a stand. Not ideal re lav placement but very typical. Signal received strength was almost 4/5 or full bars as indicated on the EW-DX receivers with a 10mw output. I like this over the Shure LDPA's since I can place this on a tall weighted base mic stand vs other antenna / stand combinations. This setup is SOLID! I would buy this antenna again. 5

[-9.4 dB] All of our microphones work well through this unit. We don't use them over a great distance, but our receivers are in a metal rack, so we need external antennae. These are doing well. 5

[16 oz / 454 g] this plate is really well made, the AB batts mount nice and snug, the p tap port is very useful. For alexa minis and reds, that are tend to be lightweight rigs, two batteries on the back gives the camera a better balance, especially on handheld and steadicam. Obviously, the hot swap function is a must. 5

[-9.4 dB] This antenna is so worth the price, and I am so glad to have found the RF Venue system. I used to struggle with theatre production using numerous antennas and dealing with interference in crowded frequency locations, and this antenna paired with the RF Venue Distro4 system solves that problem and gives me total peace of mind. 5

[50 Ohms] Works great - the bottom PTAP port isn't wired, but that is a known thing with this model. It isn't really a problem as my wooden camera backplate for my camera has another port as well and this one has a working Ptap port on the top as well. 5
