Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are these stackable? Thinking of a way to use them on a floor mounted 48” slider where using a handheld gimbal cannot be used in tightly confined areas.

A: While you could stack these tubes, you would end up losing stability.

Q: 2. I purchased one of these and the top came with a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter already installed. However, I cannot remove the adapter so that I can use it to mount a camera with a 1/4" screw mount. Has anyone else had this problem?

A: Yes, the threaded stud has a spring loaded 3/8" collar, when pressed down, reveals a 1/4-20" thread.

Q: 3. Would you recommend this tripod for long-exposure photography using a Nikon D500 with either a 70-200mm Nikkor or a 150-600mm Tamron?

A: Yes the Veo 2 235CB would be great for long exposure with a Nikon D500 with a Nikon 70-200mm or Tamron 150-600mm attached to it.

Q: 4. Is the ball head removable

A: According to Vanguard, yes, the ball head on the Vanguard VEO 2 235CB Carbon Fiber Tripod is removable. You would simply loosen the two (2) hex set screws under the head, lock down the head's adjustment dials so it does not move, and pop the head counterclockwise. The thread size on the male screw on the top of the center column is the standard ¼”-20 thread size. If you are using a tripod head that has the larger 3/8"-16 tripod thread size, you will need a reducer bushing to connect the tripod head to your tripod, such as the Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing, B&H # OB1039.

Q: 5. Does this come with a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter for the bottom thread?

A: Yes. The bottom is 3/8's with an adapter to make it 1/4. The top is 1/4 and it comes with an adapter to make it 3/8. I use the 1/4 adapter in the bottom and use the 1/4 thread in the top as it comes. I don't think I will need the 3/8 adapter for the top, but having them makes the product very versatile. The picture shows both adapters but you can't tell what they are.

Q: 6. Is the weight measurement wrong?? Only around 100grams difference between carbon fibre and aluminum version??

A: The Carbon Fiber version is 2.63 lbs, and the aluminum version is 3.7 lbs, that is a difference of 485 grams.

Q: 7. What is the folded length?

A: The Sunwayfoto T2540CT Traveler-Series Reverse Folding Carbon Fiber Tripod Folds down to 17.7" / 45 cm.

Q: 8. Will an RRS BH-40 Ball Head fit on this tripod?

A: The Sunwayfoto T3240CS comes with an embedded, non-end-user-removable ballhead. You can technically mount the RRS's BH40 on top of that, but that's highly irregular and not recommended.

Q: 9. For the sake of weight and a more solid base would it be advisable to consider removing the long center column and using just the short replacement column? AND what is the height of the tripod fully extended at that height (without the tall center column)?

A: The Vanguard VEO 2 235CB Carbon Fiber Tripod with Ball Head without the center column extended is 49 inches high. If one does not extend the original center column, it would be just as stable as using just a short center column.

Q: 10. How long is the warranty on this product?

A: A Limited 2-Year Warranty is included from Manfrotto.A Limited 3-Year Warranty Extension with Online Registration is also offered.

[6.045 lb] In Florida we do a lot of bird photography in nature centers like Wakodahatchee or Green Cay. Basically boardwalks with guard rails through swampy areas. I screw the top of tube directly into the foot of my long lenses, adjust the lenght and place the bottom of the adjustable extension tube on top of the railing to provide substantial support for the considerable weight of the Nikon D850 with battery grip, with long lenses like my 600mm f/4 and 1.4 XT/c. For prolonged shooting at stationary subjects ( like nesting or courting birds) it provides a much more stabile support than a monopod and is certainly more maneuverable than either a monopod or tripod. I leave the tube attached while I walk around the boardwalk. Of course, it depends on how tall you are. At 6' it is ideal for me, but the tube would be too long for someone considerable shorter. Also I found inserting a rubberized foot on the bottom of the tube increased the stability of the rig. I use an extra rubber foot from a RRS tripod that screws directly into the bottom of the tube, but anything from a hardware store would do. I think you will find this will work if you do similar shooting.

[6.045 lb] I now own three(3) of these Travel tripods. In my first review I stated that they were a "0" Series tripod? They actually might be a "1" Series tripod? (I own several different brand "2" Series tripods. And the leg diameter on them is larger than this tripod. So I really don't understand why the #T2540? The "2" usually stands for the top leg's diameter; and "4" usually stands for "4" leg sections.
Either way? These are really nice; strong, lightweight, compact carbon fiber tripods. I am a Birding Guide: and I am now using these tripods with three Maven #C1 65mm Spotting scopes. Obviously: they have worked out very well for me. As I have now purchased three(3) of them. An excellent dollar value at B&H Photos selling price! So far; I can highly recommend them. [A years use in all kinds of weather condition's, and constantly being setup, and taken down will tell how rugged they actually are?]

[6.045 lb] I know there are better/more expensive tripods out there. After speaking with customer service, we came up with three that would work for my situation. I am very happy with it and look forward to using it for years to come.

[Black / Green] Excellent little "0" Series tripod. Purchased for use with a small Kowa TSN-501 55mm spotting scope for children to use at Birding - Eagle Festival's.
A nice, very lightweight outfit. Well made out of high end materials! Fit and finish is excellent! An excellent dollar value at B&H Photo's selling price!
So pleased with its quality, workmanship, and fit & finish! I hope to be ordering a second one within the next few months for a second Kowa 55mm spotting scope I own.

[6.045 lb] Lightweight, sturdy, and the adjustment ring loosens and tightens easily without binding. Works perfectly with my Matterport.
