[Neoprene] This is great if you spend a lot of time looking at birds on sandbars, ducks at across a pond or lake, etc. The field of view does make it difficult to get birds in the scope that you can easily find with binos, especially if those birds are closer. I think one of the smaller objective lenses would be a better all around versatile scope, but this is great if you bird near the coast. This can be a bear to carry around on a hike, and you can't carry it attached to your tripod like you can with other scopes. It's definitely not a scope that you want carry if there's a low chance that you'll use it. Great for bird-watching! You can see so much incredible detail and color with this lens!

[Neoprene] The binocular like setup makes it very comfortable In use. I paired it with the ATX 95mm objective and the image is bright even though the light is split into two paths. The image quality is as expected for a top shelf spotting scope. There is not much else I can add to ota optical performance. I will just mention a few things about it when in use.

I compared with the Leica scope in B & H and what made the sale was the focusing ring, it is so smooth and easy to grab and adjust when compared with the tiny and tight shell on the Leica Televid.

The focus aid works fine to help with aiming the acope but it seems cheap being entirely made of plastic, and the forehead rest, for me, is useless.

The BTX and 95mm ATX combination is a large scope and on the tripod, it is not very balanced when mounted on the balance rail.
It feels awful on a ballhead as it "wants" to drop off in all different sides all the time if I don't hold on to it tight while moving it around. So trying to following a moving object does not work with a ball head. It works fine on a video pan and tilt head but I think a gimball head may be better.

I am still looking for a set of tripod legs for this setup. I used a big manfrotto and a medium sized Gitzo but both have annoying vibrations. I am planning to test it on a set of wooden telescope legs.

A minor complaint: the covers for the oculars are on a leash, which is great, but that for the objective is not and I struggle to find a place to store that large front cover when in use.

[Neoprene] The eyepiece module is like having an upscale set of binoculars with a Swarovski objective. Performance wise the package is superb. Interpupil distance is easily adjusted and there is a useful headrest. Focus does require moving your hand to the objective focus ring. Otherwise it is nearly like binoculars. There is no zoom and magnification is set at 30x. The aiming assist, a small scope to the right of the right eyepiece is outstanding at perfectly aiming the scope. The aiming assist is not protected by the SOC, but it is removable with a bit of fussing with a screwdriver. The total package with a 95mm objective is not much heavier than with the ATX eyepiece, but the BTX is significantly larger in width. In summary, a great spotting scope. My personal desired improvements would be a very slightly closer interpupil distance for use by children, and a better way of removing or protecting the aiming aid. But it still gets 5 stars.

[Neoprene] Very comfortable for long viewing sessions. Once you get your eyes adjusted from your previous scopes holds. Very confident in holding for mirage based wind holds. Using both eyes is a dream!

[Neoprene] This is a heavy Objective lens but it's above and beyond justifiable because of its craftsmanship and quality in every sense.

Five Stars!

[Neoprene] This objective was coupled with the ATX eye piece module (30-70X). Really I need about a year before I give a thorough review, but they want one now. I have worked with high end optics all my life and have an eye that can tell the difference between the very good and the great. Although my view time has been very limited, since i just got this scope, I can discern drilled holes in an air conditioner about 450 yards away from my house deck and I can get a sharp focus on them. I also can seen the rust streaks on the face plate of the unit at the same distance. As far as colors, well this is the wrong time of year for good colors, but the greens that are present really pop and the rest of the dull winter colors appear quite vivid. The objective was easy to attach to the eyepiece and the power ring and focus are very nice to operate. There is a lot of focus travel from a near to far focus but I think Swarovski did the best possible; a course focus would complicate everything. The exit pupil or the diameter of the light stream coming through the eyepiece at 70X is easy for the eye to find and stay with. The size of the glass in both the eyepiece and the objective is insanely good. All in all its easily worth the money if you are after the best image from a spotting scope. Possibly the only better scope would be the Swarovski with a 115 objective but I think that adds about 4 pound to the unit and would be of value to me only if I was planning for most of my viewing will well over 500 yards

[Neoprene] Excellent for general birding scope needs, light enough to carry easily. If you only get one objective, I recommend this one. Very easy to click on to ATX ocular.
