[ 3.5" HDD ] I received this DriveStation and thought now the chore of getting it up and running. Wrong! I plugged it in, downloaded the software, it started automatically, I put in the password and downloaded three two hour videos in about 45 minutes. I was very impressed with the easy way of use and the speed.

[ 3.5" HDD ] I needed a redundant way to back-up my picture files. (I just had a hard drive fail) The Buffalo system does it automatically. I had a little trouble setting it up but a call to customer service took care of the problem. Their rep. talked me through the setup and it has worked as advertised.

[6 TB] Purchased my first Buffalo as a Raid 1 storage drive for my photography around 2012. Had good luck with THAT one, so I decided on getting a 6 TB version of the same external drive set up on Raid1, as my older drive was a 4TB raid1 device giving me a net of 2TB of storage, and it was now FULL! So I've activated this new 6TB drive also on Raid 1, which gives me 3TB of new redundant and safe storage capability. I trust the reliability of these external drives!!

[6 TB] I bought this through another retailer, but wanted to hop on and let everyone know that even though Windows 8 has some compatibility issues with some external hard drives (i.e. Hitachi/HGST) This unit is working flawlessly in Raid 1 mode on my Windows 8 system.

[6 TB] Bought two of these 2 TB external drives, one for backup of images and the other to mirror the backup. Easy to set up and fast.

[ 3.5" HDD ] Easy to install on Mac. Long time to format drive-took 17 hours but works great. First one was defective, kept turning itself off, but B&H replaced it quickly and new one works great

[ 3.5" HDD ] After searching and purchasing a few similar products to utilize for archiving terabytes worth of photos, I finally settled on the Buffalo DriveStation Duo. The unit is very small compared to comparable products, which made finding a location on my desk for it, very simple. Using the included eSata bracket, connection was a breeze and FLAWLESS. After installing the software, my PC instantly recognized the unit. The software is very light and very simple to use. Within minutes my DriveStation Duo was up and running. I do give the unit 5 stars because it does everything it is supposed to with ease, but I was a little disappointed with the manner in which the hard drives are removed. It is a simple process, but a little clunky feeling. Since I won't be removing disks all that often, I can certainly live with it. My favorite feature might be the auto on/off that powers the unit up and down with your PC. I only use the included RAID software, so I cannot comment on the other software that is included. Overall this is a GREAT product and I would strongly recommend it.

[6 TB] The instructions and software included make it easy to set up. I like it because it is USB 3.0 and is not very large - so it fits nicely on a shelf.

[ 3.5" HDD ] I've been looking for a way to move most of my data off my local hard drive and decided to go with something that could run Raid 1 for redundancy. Setup was very simple and the drive has performed as expected so far. I haven't tried to run any performance tests but moving the roughly 1 TB of data took a while -- which I expected. The only problem that I have is that I don't have a USB 3 port from the docking station for my laptop so am running it on the slower USB 2. It's unfortunate that the DriveStation didn't have other port options but I knew that when I purchased it. We'll see how it holds up but as of now I'd recommend it as a very affordable (and simple) option if you want to run a Raid 0 or 1 setup and don't want a NAS. For my purposes, I wanted something directly connected to the machine and this was the most affordable option I could find.
