Use the DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit | Compact Gimbal Controlto facilitate FIZ control of your manual lenses in tandem with your Focus Pro Motor and your RS 3/4 Pro gimbal stabilizer. Integrated 2.4 GHz technology can control the Focus Pro Motor from up to 524.9' away. Toggle AMF mode to engage autofocus, causing the focus knob to rotate simultaneously and allowing cinematographers to visually observe the focus status on the monitor and via tactile feedback. Manual mode can then be engaged and disengaged intuitively.

The A-B electronic marking points provide tactile feedback for endpoints and step-less damping adjustment, ensuring more accurate focusing. The unit also allows you to toggle the recording of your camera via Bluetooth. A 1.09" touchscreen display displays your current settings. Power is delivered to the hand unit via an NP-F550 battery.

Q: 1. Is there a way to easily/quickly switch between different focus motors in a multi cam shoot from the hand controller?

A: Yes, you could quickly pair another motor. However, having a second Hand Controller would be the best option and paired to the motors on the second Unit. While it is fast a second hand controller paired and setup would be the best way to work quickly and without setup delays on set.

Q: 2. Does it work with the new RSC2 gimbal? Or only the RS2?

A: According to DJI's website, it currently only lists the RS2 as compatible, and not the RSC2.

Q: 3. What is the specs of the video output of this hand unit?

A: The DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit does not output any video. It can be used in conjunction with the DJI Transmission with High-Bright Monitor Combo, BH #DJTRC, in order to receive video transmitted from the included transmitter.

Q: 4. This item are compatible with DJI Lidar and focus motor 2022 ? Or again need to buy updated items ?

A: The older motors may work but the new motors have FIZ controls and a much stronger torque than the RONIN RS Gimbal 2022 motors. The older motors also are not wireless and have 10mm rod mounts. Q: 5. How do you shop for a lens for this (as in, how do you know which lenses have hard stops on the focus ring)?

A: You want to use manual cinema lenses 85MM or lower/wider.

Q: 6. does this work well on the bmpcc 6k camera with the 18-35 sigma lens?

A: Not that we are aware of.

Q: 7. How does one engage object lidar tracking from the hand unit?

Q: 8. Can this work independently, if yes can u power it from the camera without the gimbal

A: This requires the DJI focus motors for the RS2 to function, and to use the motors they must be plugged into the gimbal.

Q: 9. Can I use this with my Canon EF 24-70 with the autofocus on the lens switched off. Interested because the BMCC 6K does not offer autofocus?

A: Yes, this can be used as long as the autofocus on the lens is turned off.

[Battery] It's not perfect, but it's a great idea. If you're a solo shooter, and want to put manual focus lens on a gimbal, this is a great option. 5

[1.82 lb] There is nothing else like it out there. Don't expect it to be Sony's eye auto focus. But for those looking for auto focus from their manual lenses this works surprisingly well. 5

[Battery] This thing is tiny. When it arrives, it seems like a letdown. And it really could be. If you really don’t figure out how to set it up, it would be a major bummer at it’s $100 per very light weight square inch diminutive unassuming size. When I received mine, there was very little on YouTube about how to set it up and make it work. The $169 price of admission is just the beginning. This is not a toy for the budget conscious one lens vlogger. It requires the RS2 pro combo and also a lens you probably don’t have, like a manual prime cinema lens or an E mount Mitakon 50mm f/0.95 Speedmaster. Trust me. Once you get it to work on your old A7sii, you’ll want another entire kit with additional 3D focus setup to keep your A7III mounted with the Rokinon 35mm T1.5 manual prime you just had to get. One pitfall is thinking that you can just pop the tiny thing on top of your camera and start shooting. Instead, you will need to be patient. You must first find the 3D focus section on your Ronin LCD screen. Then, aim your set up at a wall and be prepared to walk back and forth watching the screen closely and pressing the screen at the right times. Once the system is all calibrated, there are two more important steps that will ruin your day if you skip them. Cut your extra rubber from your focus gear strip if your lens requires one. The excess will roll in front of the box and confuse your focus pull. The other step seems dumb, but you have to press auto focus on the touch screen. Now you can test to see if your focus is accurate or recalibration is needed. Watching this thing in action is pure nerd joy. Sure, the A7siii does all this by itself with any AF lens, but the visual is not as wonderful. And you usually can’t get that out of this world 0.95 background obliteration. If you are thinking about getting this and haven’t already given all your spare cash to B&H, have your spouse read this if you need permission. You’re welcome. 5

[1.82 lb] This is a great tool to pair with the RS2. If you are looking at this product you probably already know what you are looking at. The only bummer for me about this was that I thought it came with the RS2 pro combo. Having auto focus on manual lenses was primarily what got me to buy this so it was a no brainer. Comes packed well and works as intended. Just buy it already. 5
