The beige Galaxy Audio HSM4F Adjustable Dual-Ear Headset Microphone Beigeis a fully adjustable headset and four detachable 4' cables designed for compatibility with Sennheiser wireless transmitters (available separately). The headset provides a practical, economic, and hands-free audio capture solution for applications such as speeches, lectures, board meetings, and more. The 5mm electret condenser element utilizes a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern, yields a frequency response of 85 Hz to 15 kHz, and can handle SPLs up to 110 dB.

The soft microphone boom allows for easy adjustment of the microphone's position from 1.5 to 7.9" as you wear the headset, which hooks around both ears for added stability. The headband adjusts from 8.5 to 15" to accommodate almost any head shape and size and is lightweight and comfortable, even for long periods of time, without using excessive pressure to hold the microphone in place. The supplied windscreen minimizes wind noise and vocal pops and remains discreet when installed.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is the blue button on the master supposed to be recessed? Does it have any function? When my charger is not red or green does that indicate a full charge?

A: Hello I'm not an eartech rep so maybe they can give exact anwsers. In either of my sets the rubber button on the earcup is used for the power and pairing on the remote headsets. On the master headsets however the power button is a physical rocker switch on the bottom of the earcup and the rubber button is shaved down but does still function as the pair button. Not sure about the light ont he carger. When mine are charging the led is red and when its done it stays lit green . Hope this info helps... best wishes! IMHO: Overall a great product! Saves our productions time and money.

Q: 2. what advantage does this have over a Y cable?

A: The construction of the box is more solid and wiring on the box is internal so it's protected from breakage and more durable than a basic Y-cable. Additionally, the JIB/Y also has phantom block circuitry that prevents phantom power from coming back into the splitter from the equipment the box is connected to. Phantom power can damage certain microphones so the JIB/Y offers protection from damage that can be caused by phantom power.

Q: 3. Can a dual-ear model be added to a single-ear system?

A: You can add a dual ear remote model to a single ear system. Please note the final total count of your system would have to equal either 1 master headset and up to 4 remote headsets, or 1 Hub mini and up to 8 total remote headsets. If you are uncertain about your system, please contact our Pro Audio Department for more information.

Q: 4. Does this also work to split the line level connection coming from a sound board so I can feed two cameras?

A: The manufacturer of the JIB/Y, Galaxy Audio, does not recommend it be used to split a line level signal. Alternatively, you may consider the Whirlwind LBS; B&H# WHLBS.

Q: 5. I already have BH# EAHUB742MXD. which is 7-person with HUB. Now I want to split this system into four head sets for each set. Basically I’m trying to buy another master head set (HUB is expansive). So I can split my 7 person set into 2 x four person sets Do I need a Hub or this master head ? will I have any problem pairing my current remote 3 headsets to this master headset? FYI we will be using these headsets in less than 500ft range Thank you

A: Without a hub you can have up to 5 headsets, as long as one is a master. Anything above 5 users will need a hub. You can run two seperate systems at the same time without crosstalk or interference.

Q: 6. Do these work specifically with the iPhone 15 Pro's? I know some USB-C devices don't work with them

A: The SonicPresence On-Ear USB-C Microphone for Spatial Audio is not officially compatible with the iPhone 15, so although it is certainly possible to work, the manufacturer has not guaranteed it.

Q: 7. Are this for sure having a noise cancelling mic or this is a mistake?

A: Yes, the Eartec UltraLITE Dual-Ear Master Headset does feature a noise-cancelling microphone. This headset is intended for use as the Master headset for an Eartec UlraLITE Full-Duplex Wireless Intercom System. The Master headset features built-in electronics to control up to four wireless remote headsets such as the Eartec UltraLITE Single-Ear Remote Headset with Rechargeable Lithium Battery (B&H # EAULSR).

Q: 8. Is this Remote Headset RF bandwidth system 1728 GHz compatible with the 1.9 GHz set (UltraLITE Single-Ear Remote headsets)?

A: Yes. This Eartec UltraLITE Dual-Ear Remote Headset - USA is compatible for use with the Eartec UltraLITE Full-Duplex Wireless Intercom which operates within the 1920 to 1930 MHz frequency band and the system bandwidth (width of the frequency band) is 1.728 GHz.

Q: 9. Is the SP15 Pro compatible with the Zoom F3?

A: Yes, the SonicPresence SP15 PRO On-Ear XLR Binaural Microphone for Spatial Audio can be used with the Zoom F3 2-Input / 2-Track Portable Field Recorder to capture binaural audio through the dual phantom-powered XLR inputs on the F3.

Q: 10. I'd like to add a new Eartec headset to my existing set. What is involved with pairing a new headset to the the master unit?

A: The fully wireless UltraLITE system can be used with up to 5 headsets while the HUB system can be used with up to 8 wireless headsets and 1 additional wired headset. Adding a headset to an existing system is fairly simple. Eartec provides written instructions and tutorial videos that explain the procedure. Here is a link to the main information page where you can select the system you have and then view the instructions: http://eartec.com/instruction/

[4' / 1.2 m] We have used SEVERAL brands of omni headset mics.
These and the DPA mics topped the list, in a shootout of several mics, topped the list in quality and clarity.
All I use at this point are these mics. They are cheap, easy to repair, and sound great!

[Omnidirectional] My first galaxy mic was great but I left it at my old church along with my original rode go cordless microphone set. they work very well together.

[Omnidirectional] I am very pleased with this dual ear mic. It has great response and the sound is very clear. I get no feedback from the overhead speakers. I put the included foam cover over the mic and there is no breath or movement noise. My pastor says it is comfortable and stays in place. For the inexpensive price and the quality I have noticed, I would recommend this HSM4.

[Beige] I was skeptical about this microphone at first because of the low price. But I was blown away at the performance when I plugged it in and tested it. This was for our pastor and his previous mic just fit around the ear and didn't have a boom like this one does, and we could not hear him well when he spoke softly. With the Galaxy Audio HSM4, he could whisper and clearly be heard in the back of the sanctuary. We have speakers hanging right above the front platform, behind the speaker on the left and right (not the best placement) and I wanted to test how loud I could get before feedback. I stood right under the speaker which was about 6 feet above me and shouted as loud as I can and never once got feedback. The pastor said he was afraid to breath wearing it because it picked up so well and now he doesn't have to speak so loud. We are ordering another one in a different color.

[Omnidirectional] I’ve been using many different brands, types and sizes of headsets for decades in live dialogue amplification applications. I have purchased scores of them over the years, and currently have a good sized locker of various DPA, Countryman, Sennheiser, Shure, Audio Technica, and other headset mics. Compared to the usual industry leaders, the Galaxy HSM8 sounds just fine - clean, plenty of headroom, feedback resistant, and easy to e.q. in the typical headset fashion.
My users report it to be exceptionally comfortable... “forgot I was wearing it” is typical. I like the adjustability system. Simple, makes sense, packs down quickly into the case, and most importantly it is intuitive for users to put on by themselves. This was a BIG plus for me. Right out of the box, it just seemed to sit of the average size head and work without any fussiness. Historically, I’m generally putting headsets on for people because they seem to struggle with self-installation, but the HSM-8 seems to be the welcome exception.
Last but not least, It is a HUGE plus that the mic comes with four (!) spare cables. FINALLY, a manufacturer who realizes that these fussy little cables are normal wear items that must be routinely replaced. I’m all for high end audio, but come on...The greatest sounding headset in the world Is useless if the cable routinely breaks and cannot be field repaired. (hint to DPA) And, when cables can be replaced, but spares are so expensive that I have to specially budget to carry three or four with me, that’s not much better either (Hint to Countryman).
Bottom line: Galaxy has a great idea here. A comfortable, reasonably priced headset with all the right features AND which sounds quite good. I bet they will sell a ton of them. I’m very happy with mine!
