The black, Sony E-mount Rokinon 8mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens for Sony Eis a prime fisheye lens specifically designed for APS-C sized image sensors. Providing a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 12mm and full 180° angle of view, this lens is well-suited for creative applications as well as interior and architectural subjects. Its fast f/2.8 maximum aperture is further beneficial to working in low-light conditions.

[0.92 lb] Before purchasing the Rokinon 8mm fisheye I read numerous reviews about this lens. No surprises, I knew it was a manual lens, and I knew how to use it. It's a perfect fit for my Canon M5 and M3. The only big surprise is how much FUN this lens is to take photos with.

Maybe 180º lens is too much. I keep getting my little finger in the scene when I'm focusing and changing f-stops. Focus is really easier just by setting the distance scale using the focus ring. At f/8 you really don't have to worry about focus anyway.

Yes I could write about soft edges at f/2 and other technical stuff, but don't let that bother you. It's plenty sharp. Just set it at f/8 and be there!

I can't wait until spring to shoot a few landscapes, nightscapes and big city urbanscapes. A great price for a fun, fun lens.

[Sony E] Nice lens to have when you need to go super wide. It does the job. I'm using it in my fuji x-pro 2.

[0.92 lb] Not for everyone and used only sometimes. Small, light, sharp. Easy to focus since DOF is enormous even at f2.8. Worth every penny.

[f/2.8] Easy to use, as long as you remember to check for your fingers at the edges of the frame (ha ha). On my Fujifilm X-T3, I set the camera to function with no lens attached, as this lens does not share data with the camera. No worries about lack of autofocus; just set a distance of about 3 feet and everything is sharp. Manual f/stop setting also works out fine. It's small and easy to carry and fun to use. No downside except the lack of EXIF data, which would be nice but not necessary. At this price, who cares.

[f/2.8] This is one of my favorite lenses. For context, I have shot the 14mm f2.8, the 27mm pancake, and the 35mm f2. I nearly bought the Rokinon/Samyang 12mm but decided to buy this fisheye instead because it's smaller, and I thought the extra width could add some fun drama to my images. I am so happy with my decision. I even use this as a general lens for street and family. Don't worry about manually focusing this lens. Keep the aperture at f8 and everything will remain sharp. I only open it to f2.8 for astro photography, which it handles beautifully. My favorite way to shoot with this lens is with 1:1 (square) framing. It cuts off the extremely distorted sides and gives the image a wide, yet subject-centric, look. Only con is for flash users. The attached lens hood casts a long shadow when using a flash, so I simply do not use a flash with this lens. Definitely buy this fisheye if you're thinking about it. I bought the silver version because the X-mount versions come with a wide silver ring at the base. It looks good on my black X-E2s.

[Sony E] I wanted to get a fisheye lens for my cannon mirrorless EM50 - a pricey proposition which can end up over a $1000; more like $1,500. I knew that there might be the possibility of a third party lens which would require me to work in manual mode - but that wasn't going to be a problem for me. It would just involve doing a bit of homework on how to make it happen.

The tricky thing is that you need to go to manual mode in order to find the correct setting it won't show up in the other setting modes.

Then in the camera menu go to Custom Functions and under CF II there is a choice for shutter release when no lens is attached - you want to enable that option and then you should be able to make the lens work.

You can still set ISO and shutter speed - the f-stop is set via the lens.
