[Neoprene] This is the perfect optic for this project. My daughter is a huge Star Wars fan and when I discovered the parts for the DL-44 blaster in 22lr I knew I had to build it. Can't wait to finish and surprise her with it.

[Neoprene] The pouch easily slides over the LensCoat Gimbal protecting its odd shape from bumps, scratches, and scrapes. I actually kept some of the bubble wrap that Gimbal came wrapped in. I wrap the Gimbal with that and then easily slide it into the pouch so it is well protected.

[Neoprene] The lens is very well build and quite heavy, it works perfectly with the Celestron C11 Hd Edge and preserve the original back focus of 146 mm, useful for OAG, filters wheel and DSLR.

[Neoprene] The LensCoat Gimbal Pouch is generously-sized for the Magnus GH-M1 Gimbal Mount. The Magnus is 8.3 X 8.3 inches and there is at least 1 inch of extra clearance in the Pouch. For larger gimbals like the Wimberley or Oben the fit will obviously be tighter. The stitching looks strong and the draw string opening is reinforced, so this cover should enjoy a long life.

[Neoprene] Well, maybe not nimble, but safe. My Oben gimbal fits in the pouch when it's not on a tripod. My wife could make me a pouch for cheaper, but she's busy and it's easier to get one from B&H.

[Neoprene] I have been using the Celestron 0.7 Edge HD Reducer Lens on my C-1100 Edge HD for about five years. It certainly does reduce the effective focal length to 70% of the base telescope but that is not as important as the substantial reduction in exposure time by about 50%. What previously required a 20-minute exposure now can be done in 10 minutes. In most if not all environments, the seeing would not support the full focal length of the 1100 resulting in photo images that are actually clearer than without the reducer.

[Neoprene] Ever since I brought my Ruger Mark I pistol back in the 1970's I wondered what it would be like to use it with a telescopic sight. Two potential problems delayed me from finding out. The price of pistol scope and the difficulty of mounting a scope on the Ruger. Things changed last month when I discovered that B&H was offering a Sun Optics scope mount (SusM4877) that was specifically designed to clamp tightly around the Ruger receiver with no hole drilling. After starting my order with the mount, I also found this BSA Pistol Scope and ordered both. The addition of sturdy BESTSIGHT scope rings to attach the two together resulted in the setup shown in the photo.
The scope has sufficient eye relief for straight arm shooting, parallax was minimal, and reticle was easily brought into sharp focus. During sighting in I was able to repeatedly achieve 1.25 groupings at 50 feet, albeit with arm bracing (necessary for this 82 year old man). I consider this to be a great scope for the price.
