Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this strap work with both sides of the double harness or just the right handed side??

A: This can be used on both sides.

Q: 2. Does the Breathe have to be detached from the bottom of the camera for use with a tripod?

A: As is, the BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap would need to be removed from the camera in order to use the camera on a tripod. Though, there are accessories that can be purchased in order to keep the fastener on the camera while using a tripod if you have a tripod that uses the Manfrotto 200PL-14 plate or Arca Swiss plate.

Q: 3. I have a BlackRapid Sport Breathe Camera Strap that says it has a CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner. Will this fit what I have?

A: The BlackRapid LockStar II for CR-3 & CR-4 Swivel Carabiners (2-Pack) will fit the BlackRapid Sport Breathe Camera Strap with CR-3 ConnectR.

Q: 4. Has anyone used this with a Lumix G9 w/ PL100-400? Just wondering if it's heavy duty enough or I need to go to the Curve Breathe model.

A: All of our straps are designed to safely carry all professional level cameras and equipment and will easily hold 20kg (44 lbs) of static weight load. Since the Street Breathe is designed for the lighter weight, mirrorless camera, we would recommend the Sport Breathe or the Curve Breathe (slimmer design than the Sport), as these have a great shoulder pad and would be much more comfortable while wearing your heavier camera gear. For an added layer of security and to help with peace of mind, we do recommend the use of the Camera Safety Tether that comes in the box with new a strap and is also available on our website as well as our Amazon store. Please be sure to take a moment to view the "How To" video on our website that demonstrates the proper attachment of the camera to the FR-5 using the carabiner for an extra snug fit. Hope this info helps! -BLACKRAPID

Q: 5. I wonder if this strap would work with the Peak Design backpack?

A: Yes. This YouTuber reviewed the Backpack Breathe and he actually has it attached to the Everyday Backpack.https://youtu.be/n4gu1bKrL6A

Q: 6. How do I install this?

A: The BlackRapid LockStar II for CR-3 & CR-4 Swivel Carabiners can pop and snap into place.

Q: 7. Purchased Black Rapid RS 4 Classic and Sport. Really like the Classic. Concerned on the sport the main strap attaches at one end with a click clasp. If the clasp opens camera falls. Classic doesn't have the clasp and appears no chance for strap to open. Is there a way to double secure the clasp on the Sport ?

A: The main strap is permanently attached. The underarm strap is not.

Q: 8. Whats the Difference between the Curve Breathe and this ?

A: The sport has more padding and is wider.

Q: 9. Can you illustrate an attached strap? I’m lost and I want to buy!

A: I don’t have an illustration, but I just used the strap on a 10 day hiking and photography trip to the 4 corners region. It worked great and I was able to hike, climb ladders and have great access to my camera (heavy full frame Nikon). The strap was very comfortable.

Q: 10. I typically carry two camera bodies. Can I wear one of these straps on each shoulder?

A: Yes but you are much better off getting a dual harness, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/39tmQtx

[0.02 lb] I do a lot of rough-country hiking and photography. I use my cell phone a lot in this, for trip planning, GPS tracking, apps, etc. If I drop my phone, there is no telling where it might end up, and the predicament I would be in. A tether is critical for me, and this is the easiest and best way I have found for attaching a tether. It is brilliantly simple.

[0.02 lb] I wanted a safety tether for when I used my camera with long zoom lens attached to it in the field with a heavy-duty shoulder strap attached to an F-5 base lug into the camera base plate. This safety tether allowed me to create a fallback connection directly to the camera body itself should, for any possible reason, either the lug or the base plate fail. Yes, I know it might sound like a bit of an overkill, but it is far cheaper than having to replace either camera lens or camera body in an accident.

[0.02 lb] I didn’t purchase this tether for my phone. I am using it as a wrist strap for my LX100 ii and it works perfectly after a little alteration. I removed the carabiner and replaced it with an extra peak design anchor I had lying around. After the alteration it’s perfect, the strap has just the right length. The width of the strap is just right and the seatbelt weave is silky smooth. The adjustable clamp works as it should. I would definitely buy this item again.

[Black] Does the job. Finally I do not have to worry about camera coming off the strap and keep checking it frequently.

[Black] I actually bought two of these to use as a camera strap backup tether system. I have (without going into specifics) a competitor's product that I use for my camera strap, and their link system has proven unreliable in the area of safety for my kit; and they don't make a tether system. I found these Black Rapid phone tethers to be the perfect solution. My only real concern was what the actual failure load was, as it was not listed in the product description, and I am using it for purposes beyond what it was most likely designed for. Using the tether, I dropped tested 50 lbs. from a height of 5 feet and did not experience any strap or buckle failure. I figured that was beyond good enough for my purposes. I've been very happy with the peace of mind these Black Rapid tethers have provided, without impeding the ergonomics of my existing camera strap system.

[Black] Easier to install and use than the strap that came with the Nikon BlackRapid sling I bought several years ago.
