A: This is my experience with the bag and overhead bins for air travel:CRJ900 - Just fits with not much room to spare and needs to go in sidewaysMD90 - Too long to go in straight on two seat side of plane. Fits sideways perfectly. Fits straight in perfectly on three seat side of plane.737-900 - Fits straight in with no issuesAirbus 319 - Fits straight in with no issues717-200 - Fits perfectly straight in on three seat side of planeThe CRJ900 is the smallest overhead bin I believe this will fit in.

A: It's not removable on the 18L either.As others have suggested, if you need a bag this big you'll probably welcome the waist straps to distribute the weight between your shoulders and hips. For air travel, for example you can put the straps around the bag instead of your waist.

Q: 7. What are the internal measurements of the camera compartment (inside the padding)? Thank you.

A: As per the manufacturer, the interior dimensions are 12.6” W x 21” H x 7.1”.

Q: 8. how does this bag compare to the Backlight 18L?

A: The Backlight 18L is set up more for serious hiking. This bag has a heavily padded waist strap for supporting the weight of a fully loaded bag on a long hike. The waist strap puts some of the weight on the bag on the hips and takes some of the strain off of the shoulders and back.

Q: 9. will this fit under the seat of an airplane?

A: It depends on the airline and the size of the plane that you are taking, but in general it won't fit, it is too big.

[Black] I bought this bag specifically to accommodate a Sony A7iii, a wide-angle, fish-eye, and 200-600mm telephoto lens on a trip that would include hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (Peru) and a visit to the depths of the Amazon at the Tiputini Biodiversity Station (Ecuador). The primary goal was to have a bag that kept the equipment clean and dry but also usable while also having enough room for a water bottle, raincoat, and some of the odds and ends a camera requires. The secondary goal was for it to be comfortable to carry all those places and more. I'm happy to report that BOTH goals were met. I'd still recommend one or two minor design changes if the folks at MindShift were interested, but even so, I consider this the best camera bag I've ever owned. I'm also happy to say that it has room to carry a little more equipment (were I crazy enough to add it to my load), and that the provided rain cover is generously designed to protect the bag, the camera in it, and a tripod or monopod strapped to it. If you want a bag to keep a similar camera accessible and safe while still providing reasonable comfort, this bag is a good choice. 5

[Black] I've tried the GoPro head band, and every time you clear your mask it misaligned the camera. With this mask the camera is always pointed exactly where you're looking, and the super pliable silicon seals around my facial hair better than any other mask I've owned. This is a must have for you recreational snorklers, and divers!!! 5

[Black] I was happy with the out of box X3 underwater video. I didn't buy it for this purpose, and it was a bonus to get decent video. During editing I could envision how much better the video would be with seamless underwater stitching. The dive case surpassed my expectations. The stitching is near-perfect and overall it is a severe improvement in video quality. 5

[Black] I am a gopro user for a long time and I own a hero 10 but when it comes to 360 degree shoot Insta is great. It is easier to use and have better shots in my opinion. 5

[Black] I used this pack on my recent trip out west. I was able to pack my scope, binoculars and camera with the zoom lens in this pack. Using the sectional pieces that come with the pack, I felt like everything was very secure. I used it as my carry-on and was able to put other useful items inside as well. Very pleased with this bag! 5

[Black] Six dives in Belize and got amazing shots paired up with the 9 foot extension selfie stick. Survived the Blue Hole without any issues. Did notice a bit of fogging about 45 minutes into dives, but nothing a secondary anti fog strip couldn't solve. 5
