Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to screw in a threaded filter in front of the objective lens? If so, what size is needed?

A: Checking the MFR's manual, this scope does not have threads for a filter.

Q: 2. Regarding the shoe male mount on the bottom of the scope… what adapter is need to mate the scope with a standard tripod mount?

A: Yes. The shoe on the bottom of the Vanguard Endeavor HD 15-45x65 Spotting Scope (Angled Viewing) will mount to any tripod that has a standard 1/4-20 screw.

Q: 3. Are there adapters for digiscoping w/ a Nikon DSLR (D750, perhaps)?

A: Yes you will need a T Mount for your camera for digiscoping. This is the B&H part number for the T ring for your camera, B&H#KOTMN. When you get the T ring home before you can start digiscoping. You will need to take the lens off your camera and screw the T ring in it's place. The only other thing you will need is an adapter for the telescope you are using. The adapter will depend on the telescope you have. After you get the correct adapter attach it to the telescope and screw the camera onto the adapter. Then start shooting.

Q: 4. Does scope come with a tripod?

A: Yes! It's a short- 12 inch maybe tripod. I set my scope on a table by the window to view boats on the water 1-1.5 miles away!

Q: 5. The eyepiece is removable, is there an additional function for this? Can we attach dslr with tring? What is the mag without the eyepiece?

A: The eyepiece is removable. Turn the eyepiece holder ring counterclockwise and pull the eyepiece out. I believe you will need a special adapter that would fit in the eyepiece slot since there are no threads to attach the T ring directly. The magnification would depend on the size of you camera's sensor.

Q: 6. Which full size tripod rubberized tripod would you recommend for this sporting telescope, which does equipped with the right mechanical adapter?

A: The Barska Pro tripod BH# BAPTE66CC.

Q: 7. Does the lens have a slip-out hood?

A: Yes, the Vanguard Vesta 560A 15-45x60 Spotting Scope (Angled Viewing) has an integrated slip-out hood.

Q: 8. You suggest 86 mm filter as an accessories. Are you sure this spotting scope can accept any front filter?

A: Yes. The Pentax PF-85EDA 85mm Spotting Scope and 8-24mm Zoom Eyepiece Kit (Angled Viewing) is threaded to accept 86mm filters.

Q: 9. Can I put the proctective filter in the front? If yes, what filter diameter size? Thx

A: The Celestron TrailSeeker 100 22-67x100 has no filters. If you are referring to the objective lens cap that comes with the scope. That would slip over and cover the objective. Which is 100mm.

Q: 10. What's the eyepiece diameter of this scope?

A: The diameter is 2.216" in diameter.

[Neorene] We have been watching birds from our living room window and this is a great addition to binoculars. Great so far!

[Neorene] A great scope for general use from wildlife to looking at the stars.
Taking your own moon shots is also fun with the enclosed iPhone adapter.

[Neorene] I love it! The scope is easy to use and quick to focus. The carrying case is fab! Don't even have to take it off to use the scope when on your trip-pod. It's light and easy to carry and very clear!

[Neorene] This spotting scope is extremely bright, clear, the definition is awesome, and it's easy to focus! It out performed other brands of scopes at higher, to much higher price points! I could easily see 22 cal. bullet holes at 200 yards and 30 cal. holes at 300 yards in the black areas of a target, and it was an overcast day! I am confident that I could see 30 cal. holes at 400 yards and more, if I find a rifle range that offers that and longer distances.

[Neorene] Wanted to upgrade to a decent scope but did not want to spend $2000. The Trailseeker 80mm is better than I expected. Some online reviews were not raving about going past 30x zoom as far as clarity. I was more than pleased at 60x zoom, photo taken was using I-phone adaptor on windy day at 60x zoom.

[Neorene] Much better than my 60mm Celestron. May not be quite as sharp as some of the very high dollar scopes, but close enough for my budget.

[Neorene] This scope is well built, and has a rotating tripod mount that allows
viewing in almost any position. The image quality is very bright
and sharp up to about 40mm and then gradually darkens

in the 50 X to 60 X range which is to be expected. The eye relief is generous and extends, and the field of view is excellent. The focusing knobs both coarse and fine are together and a bit awkward to focus quickly and takes getting used to. It would have been nice if like their other scopes it had a built in sight on the side.

I like the screw-on protective metal cap on the eyepiece along with the included stay on carrying case. I think it is a terrific spotting scope for its price class although it might be a bit large to carry in the field. I recently purchased the Celestron Omni (Plossi) eyepiece – 32mm which now provides clearer and brighter image easily matching scopes costing three times the price...Louie D

[Neorene] The TrailSeeker 80 offers great performance at a value price. I bought it for my wife. We have a small pond outside our backyard and the scope gives great clarity to the waterfowl who inhabit the wetlands. I plan on building a digiscope adaptor which will allow us to easily record videos and pictures.

I spent a lot of time researching the options, and am very satisfied with this purchase. Yes, you can do better, but nothing in the price range comes close. Given the price and ease of setup, this is the perfect package for the price. It's relatively portable and should provide years of service.
