Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can you attach a camera to the scope?

A: Not really. There is no attachment for this small scope to attach a camera, and the eyepiece doesn't have the FOV for digiscoping. The Razor 65mm and 85mm scopes do have digiscoping attachments and better Long Eye Relief objectives for attaching cameras.

Q: 2. For bird watching I saw this scope in Costa Rica. Really liked it. Is this one the one to get? Or any other recommendations?

A: Vortex Viper HD 20-60x85 Spotting Scope (Angled Viewing) BH #VO2060X85A • MFR #V502 one of B&H most highly rated scopes. In a 20-60X85 there would be nothing better

Q: 3. What year is this scope? What phone skope works with this model?

A: It was first released in 2018 and they have not release a newer version as of yet.

Q: 4. What do I need to attach my Fuji XT-5 to this please ?

A: You will need the Novagrade T-Mount Digiscoping Adapter BH #NOUA00T101 • MFR #UA-00T1-01 to position over the eyepiece and the FotodioX Lens Mount Adapter for T-Mount T/T-2 Screw Mount SLR Lens to Fujifilm Fuji X-Series Mirrorless Camera Body BH #FOT2FXRF • MFR #T2-FXRF to attach to your camera body. Those (2) pieces will now screw together.

Q: 5. Does anyone make either nd it polarizer 85mm filters to fit the objective on the vortex spotting scope?

A: Unfortunately this Scope does not accept threaded Filters on the Objective. My apologies.

Q: 6. Can the Vortex 20-60x 85 scope be used to view the moon with no filter? If not what filter is needed?

A: You can use this Scope for Celestial Viewing. Absolutely you can use this to look at the Moon with. Unfortunately we do not carry a Moon Filter compatible with this Scope. However I think you will be able to use this without a Filter.

Q: 7. This is a general question for this and other scopes: Does the eye relief change as the magnification increases?

A: Yes eye relief does have a tendency to change at different magnifications.

Q: 8. Is there a way to replace the foot on the Vortex Razor HD with an Arca Swiss Compatible Foot?

A: The Vortex Razor HD 27-60x85 Spotting Scope currently comes with an arca-type foot. There is no need to switch out the foot.

Q: 9. Is this the version with an Arca-Swiss foot? Not clear on BH or MFR site.

A: The Vortex Viper HD 20-60x85 Spotting Scope (Angled Viewing) has an integrated Arca-type foot to mount directly to Arca-type tripods. No additional plates would be needed.

Q: 10. Can a camera somehow be attached?

A: Yes a camera can be attached. To recommend the proper adapters I would need to know what camera model you have.

[Neoprene] I was looking at higher priced binoculars after I was introduced to birding. The line above this product seemed to be the one to choose, but I felt $200 level price could do a good job and I was right. The pictures clear, easy to use, has everything that I think I'd need(caps, pouch, straps..)
the adjustments feel solid and the fact that it is lifetime guarantee makes me feel better about purchasing. B&H as always was solid in delivering this. Usually they are unreasonably fast in delivery(like.. overnight) but this was normal speed(1 day).

[0.295 lb] Excellent binoculars. Bright, sharp, compact. Fits me and my 8 yr old. Enough focus that I can use them at infinity without my glasses, with -7.75 myopic prescription. Not all binoculars have enough range to work without glasses and it’s best to have this option if you are short sighted so you can choose what is more comfortable for you. Work well with glasses too (adjustable eye cups). Free included case ok too.

[Neoprene] I bought these after another bino (not Vortex) got knocked out of alignment for the third time. These are very nice for the price. They have clear bright glass giving a crisp view. I am glad I bought the 8X42 for the wider field of view, works better for where I will be using them the most. The exterior armor is grippy but not squishy. I would buy them again.

[Neoprene] My first binoculars for birding. After using my friend’s Leica pair for a few months, I was concerned whether any bins in my price range would compare. Read many reviews and decided on Vortex Diamondback. Honestly love these. Very bright images, great for low light conditions. My friend tried them out and she was impressed with the brightness and clear images as well. They are weighty so definitely recommend a stretchy harness for comfort.

[Neoprene] My wife owned a pair of these for several months before I decided to add binoculars to our birding outings. They are great optical quality and durable build. I had been taking my camera and telephoto lens on our outings, and didn't see the need to carry binoculars as well. I'm happy I changed my mind. In addition to better viewing in some low light situations, viewing with both eyes gives you a true 3D experience. A dramatic difference from the 2D viewfinder (or EVF in my case). I now carry both the camera and binoculars, and will continue to do so. I adds a lot to the experience.

[0.295 lb] These were a gift for my husband. This is the second pair I’ve purchased after experiencing them in the field. The clarity is amazing when I compare them to several older pairs we had around the house. They adjust quickly and smoothly even with gloves. Now we can clearly distinguish the fine details while identifying birds on our hikes.

[0.295 lb] Well padded and protects my Nikon SB-910 flash. Also has pouch to store 4 spare batteries. A second pouch to store flash stand would have been welcomed, nonetheless not disappointed with unit.

[0.295 lb] A few years ago I purchased a great pair of Vixen binoculars which have been wonderfully useful. On this occasion I was hoping to find binoculars for my son who is an avid fisherman - and with similar specs the Vortex binoculars hit the sweet spot at a very competitive price. Excellent visual acuity, great size. No flash!
