Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Latency?

A: To transmit video, the MARS 400S uses a 5Ghz frequency band, with up to 400 feet (120m) line-of-sight range. According to Hollyland, the latency is less than 0.1 second.

Q: 2. Is it possible to connect multiple receivers to one transmitter?

A: While that may be possible, we do not have receivers available for separate purchase at this time.

Q: 3. Is there a way to power both the transmitter and receiver via DTAP?

A: You will need to use a 12V D-Tap cable. This will allow you to power both the receiver and the transmitter.

Q: 4. Can mars 400 link with mars 300?

A: We are not aware of there being cross compatibility between the 400 and 300 series. Also we only sell these products as transmitter and receiver pairs.

Q: 5. Will this work with an ATEM video switcher?

A: Yes, this should be possible.

Q: 6. What happens if you try to send a 4k 60p signal (such as from an a7siii) through the transmitter? Does it come through as 30p?

A: The input format of 4k 60p is not supported. It must be one of the supported input formats - UHD 4K: 30/29.97/25/24/23.98 when using the Hollyland Pyro S 4K HDMI/SDI Wireless Video Transmission System.

Q: 7. can i power it of a v-mount battery through the barrel connector via d-tap?

A: Yes, of course.

Q: 8. So would the Watson battery shown here be OK? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1468019-REG/watson_b_4238_np_f970_lithium_ion_battery_pack.html/overview

A: Hi Pesi, yes, of course.

Q: 9. Hi, There, Will this system work with ATEM and Sony MCX500 Switcher?

A: Yes it will. This has both HDMI and SDI outputs which you can use to connect the receiver to a production switcher.

Q: 10. Can this be powered by Panasonic Camcorder 7.2V batteries I use for powering my AG-UX90? Will the batteries fit?

A: Hi Pesi, No that's not fit. The Mars 400S can be power by: a) Sony NPF batteries b) use the DC 2.1 power adapter that comes along c) Use D-TAP to DC 2.1 Power cable to connect the Mars 400S to the V-mount batteries

[Black] Plugged it in, set the switcher IP and everything worked straight away. Should work with any modern ATEM switcher. Outdated and discontinued models will obviously not work since the API has changed over the years. For ATEMs over Ethernet, you don't need to do the Learning part of the setup, so just skip that. Set the switcher IP in settings and it should begin working immediately.

[Black] These units are amazing. Solid transmission and no drop outs at the listed allowable distances. Generally these types of systems are reliant on line of sight but I have shut doors and hidden these with great results.

[Black] I brought this for a multi cam event and it works as advertised. Setup was simple and easy, the video had no noticeable delay and converted my HDMI signal to an SDI one. The hot shoe adapter came with the system making it more easier to grip my camera.

Will definitely use for future events!

[4.285 lb] I run a high school broadcasting program and we are working on live sports production. When shooting softball/baseball, we needed a way to have a camera behind the outfield wall to shoot balls & strikes. We don't have several hundred feet of cable, so I bought the Hollyland Mars 400s to connect the camera to our switcher. It worked fantastic right out of the box. We had a strong signal at around 250 feet. I'll probably buy another one next year.

[<-115 dBm] We couldn't get an HDMI or SDI to a location about 100 ft away and this seemed like a well-priced option with good reviews. I can say that after using it for a few weeks now, it works like a champ. These things do get warm, but apparently that is normal. It reliably sends HDMI from my camera out across to the receiver and I can pick it up from there in HDMI or SDI to input into my Blackmagic ATEM. No issues at all. Yes, there is a small frame delay because... well, it's wireless. But that was expected. I am considering a couple more of these so we can make our other wired cameras wireless too.

[<-115 dBm] I liked the first one so much, that I bought another pair for my second camera. The signal is reliable; and I like being able to connect, wirelessly, several other wifi (mobile) capable devices. This was a nice touch to have a couple of clients viewing on separate devices.
