The side flags contract to allow additional configurations. They're each made up of an upper and lower section, and the lower section slides upwards and tightens into position by an integrated thumbscrew. The frame, flags, and rod mount are all aluminum, and the matte box is made of ABS plastic.

Two 360° rotating filter holders both support 4 x 4" and 4 x 5.6" filters. Two cowls are included for different sized lenses for keeping stray light from entering between the lens and matte box. Q: 1. Hello, I am looking to use my leica M lenses to shoot a film with my Sony a7s and metabones adaptor. Some of it will be shooting outdoors and I need to be able to put ND on these lenses in a way that that will be practical (i.e. not buying ND for each individual lens with a different filter thread size). I am wondering, with consideration to the very small size of these lenses, if this product will be a good purchase in order to use one ND filter set. I am wondering specifically about the lens cowl working well to reduce light leaks and reflections of the filter, as some have said it does not stay in place? Thanks!

A: Hello Joe. This product brings an adjustable cover to put between the lens and the Matte Box to block the light. The only problem I see. If the lens is not large, it difficult to manual focus. If you want to give me an e-mail to send you the photos from my lenses. So you take a better decision. Bye

Q: 2. Does the screen swivel downward so the screen would be facing the ground if holding the camera facing forward?

A: Yes, the screen in it's 270 rotation will face the ground.

Q: 3. How useful is this for macro work? Can it be flexed forward at an angle that points the flash immediately in front of the lens?

A: The arm is completely flexible. To answer your main question, while it depends on your camera, your lens and your flash, we believe you can get the flash where you want it.

Q: 4. Will this matte box cause a vignette with a 18mm lens on a super 35 camera (FS700)?

A: It completely depends on how far forward you have the 18mm lens in the matte box. I know that sounds obvious, but if you are using a prime 18mm, and you don't have the matte box back close enough to the lens, then yes, you will get some vignetting. Just slide your box closer to the lens and you'll be fine.

Q: 5. Since almost all film-making is now done digitally, when will there be a version of this slate that doesn't waste space for film roll , and instead allow spaces for Scene , Shot , and Take ?

A: I always number my SD cards and put that number on the slate. It's still a useful box to have even if you aren't shooting on actual film rolls.

Q: 6. how much weight can this hold and can this hold the flash laterally? is this better than vello flexible arm bracket?

A: It will definitely bend with the weight of a flash if positioned laterally, but you could position it like this: https://bit.ly/38QBWXO The manufacturer does not give weight limit specifications, but the typical 1.25lbs. (with batteries) or so top of the line flash from major camera manufacturers (e.g. Nikon and Canon) should be fine. I would consider it to be functionally equivalent to the Vello product (BH #VECB900): https://bhpho.to/2UfJZIk

Q: 7. Is this compatible with a Sony Alpha 6300?

A: While there are no reports of this being used with the a6300, it is supposed to work with any photo camera with Live View and HDMI out which the a6300 has.

Q: 8. Will this work with the Raynox MX-3062PRO?

A: I use this for my Sony FDR-AX100 and It works very well. I would recommend this.

Q: 9. Does this handle have a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom ?

A: Unfortunately no, the Dot Line SMARTbracket 7 Padded Handle does not have a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom. You could use this Revo handle instead. Please see the following link:http://bhpho.to/18ckMPH

Q: 10. Is this compatible with a Nikon d3200?

A: Yes it is.

[Yes] Yes it's not the highest end Matte box, but you already knew that. It costs only $129.00. That being said though, for that price it's pretty great!

[Yes] I put forth a lot of time researching what matte box I was going to buy, and it was worth it because this was the right product! I have used the Redrock Micro mattebox system for a few years, but this product is built nearly the same at less than half the cost! I am really happy with it. I bought this in combination with the Dot Line F1 follow focus for use with the Lumix GH4, and the three are great together. The actual mattebox and filter trays are made of a hard, durable plastic, and everything else is made of aluminum. It's built very solid and does not feel flimsy. The swing-away feature is nearly as good as the Redrock, and very helpful for changing lenses with ease. The swing-away mechanism has a locking position when fully closed and also offers a vertical adjustment. The flags are made of powder coated aluminum and attach easily, however, the levers which they attach to are a little finicky and can be difficult to tighten, but they still work. I was a little unsure about the fabric cowls it comes with, but I actually really like them! They do what they're supposed to do: keep light off the lens. The mattebox accepts 15mm rods seamlessly. All-together a great product choice!

[Yes] The mattbox is easy to use , comes with the four flags to cover all needs, i have it attach to my rig , i found it better like that So at the time of changing lenses i can only remove my camera. Maybe if i buy the swing away adapter i can move the matt and change the lens only without removing my camera but in the meantime in good to go.
