Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the focus noisy?

A: The Hasselblad XCD 65mm f/2.8 Lens has a consistent vibration and low pitch noise when focusing.

Q: 2. Isn't the 65 mm XCD lens a 50 mm equivalent, not 35 mm? Your key features listing has an error, I believe.

A: The 35mm refers to the film/sensor format, not the equivalent focal length.

Q: 3. What is the outer diameter of this bowens speed ring?

A: Chimera Speed Ring Insert for Bowens Mount has an outer diamter of 143mm. The bowen connector is 100mm.

Q: 4. Where is this lens made?

A: Hasselblad XCD 65mm f/2.8 Lens BH #HA65XCD • MFR #CP.HB.00000252.01 is made in Japan

Q: 5. Can this 65mm lens be used on X2D without any problem?

A: The Hasselblad XCD 65mm f/2.8 Lens is compatible with the Hasselblad X2D Medium Format Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 6. I have the speed ring, what insert do I need to be able to use with an Apurture bowens mount?

A: The Bowen-S mount is universal and industry standard, however the diameter of the adapter ring may very. To choose the correct adapter ring I would suggest to find the speed ring that you have on our website and take a look in accessories. If the speed ring that you have is from current Chimera soft-box then this is the adapter for Bowen-S that will fit the speed ring.

Q: 7. Does it have weather sealing rubber ring at the mount?

A: Yes, the Hasselblad XCD 65mm is weather-sealed lens.

Q: 8. Does it include the rubber collar clamp portion?Photo only shows the aluminum sleeve.

A: This replacement ring does not include the rubber ring.

Q: 9. Is this simply a swap into a nylon Chimera speedring? I have a number of rings with Balcar/Whitelightning. I want to switch them to Bowens.

A: This Chimera product would be the center insert rather than the outer nylon ring that accepts the softbox rods.

Q: 10. My lens' focus ring diameter is 61.75mm. Should I get the 59-61mm or 62.5-64.5mm ring?

A: we recommend going with the smaller size.

[Black] ..them all!
It's true, I bought them all, original purchase was four of them, and after seeing them and acknowledging the quality of manufacture and design, materials etc., I was impressed to buy multiples of many and singles of each size.
The theory is, that you can split them and make two rings, however, B&H's insistence on charging a mere two bucks a piece, I was 'forced' into it making such a capricious purchase!
I hope it's not a promotion or deal, because everyone should atleast experience how nice it is to manually focus a lens with one of these even if you'll never actually use a motor with it. (Gloves)

[Black] Works like a charm... I actually stack 2 atop (1 size, then the next size up) each other to make the lens fatter... works well. i have about 20 of these for all my lenses

[Aluminum] I wasn't sure of wha sizes to get for my lenses, but at $2/per, I bought plenty to try. And I still payed less than one of other manufacturers gear rings.

FYI, if you bought or plan to buy the Sirui 24mm Anamorphic lens, 62.5 to 64.5 is the size you want. Enjoy.

[Black] I've used these Tilta Seamless Focus Gear Rings to add follow focus to two Canon FD lenses, a 300mm f/4 and a 200mm f/2.8 lens. They work great and have been used in productions.

[Black] These work great and the price is right! Also great that they can be split in two for narrower gears. Ordering lots of these, as I have lots of old lenses of various sizes.

[Aluminum] It fits my EF lenses for the Komodo and work perfectly with my Tilta Nucleus wireless follow focus and Mini Follow Focus gears!

If the front diameter is too big, slides the gear ring from the back of the lens.

[Aluminum] Brought for the Sirui 24mm Anamorphic. The 59 to 61mm snug on the aputure ring. The 62 to 64mm is perfect for the focus ring

[Aluminum] Once you get past the hurdle of measuring your lens diameter, finding the corresponding gear ring and sliding that sucker in is as satisfying as sliding some other sucker if you get what im sayin
