ARRI L7-C Plus RGB LED Fresnel Light with Power Cordcontinues to expand its LED spotlights with the introduction of the blue/silver L7-C Plus RGB LED Fresnel Light. Featuring a manual yoke, the L6-C Plus has a flood to spot capability with a beam angle adjustment of 12-45°. With a larger Fresnel lens compared to the L5-C Plus version, the L7-C Plus is ideal for an extra punch, providing greater throwing distances. The Plus version adopts the uniform, homogeneous light field of its predecessor, while providing up to a 90% increase in output. Similar in size and weight to its previous version, the upgraded L-Series Plus has a new 180W RGBW light engine and firmware technology, operating on the same software as the brand's SkyPanel. Designed as the brightest ARRI full-color Fresnel fixture, the L7-C Plus has a 7" light aperture that offers an increased output up to 90% depending on your settings, such as beam angle and CCT. This fixture has a peak intensity of 113,000 lux at 3.3' (spot beam at 5600K).

The 100-0% dimmable L6-C Plus is a "fully tunable" white light source, allowing you to match existing fixtures with color temperatures from 2800 to 10,000K. The onboard controller allows full minus-green to plus-green adjustment as well as RGB+W color gamut color mixing with hue and saturation control, enabling matching of specific shades and skin tones. A wide selection of gels are available as well. CRI of 94 and TLCI of 89 ensure color accuracy.

All functions can be controlled via DMX, an ideal feature for broadcast studios, while RDM permits monitoring of the light's status. Control and configuration are extended via Art-Net, sACN, and web page control of light and settings via HTTP.

Power options include the L7-C Plus's 100-240 VAC onboard power supply. A required power cable does not come with this light and needs to be purchased separately.

A: Easy. Chimera makes the speed ring that fits the L7. I have one but I rarely use it. Even at full flood, the beam vignettes on a medium quartzbsnk. So I baffle the soft box with a billowing piece of opal pinned to the spines to help spread the light corner to corner. Truthfully, I never use the L series heads for keys. They are better suited for edges and background. But there are no hard and fast rules.

A: Yes, a Matthews Junior Baby Adapter will work. I recommend getting a stand that has a junior female so you do not need an adapter. And the stand you picked is just on the edge of the supported weight. The stand I would recommend is a Matthews Hollywood Combo Steel stand. Arri does not have the lights in kits that include a case.Most cases not custom made are will not hold three in one case. Best is to pack the lights in their own case.There are than options. This one can cold one light with accessories, Explorer Cases Large Hard case 5833.

Q: 7. Why is this daylight bulb rated at 5000k? For this price you would think they would actually produce a 5500/5600 kelvin product.

A: Hi Sam, Visionsmith ReLamp went with the 5000k standard because their test showed that it produce more pleasing skin tones (as it is a little warmer) than 5500/5600K.

A: Apparently it's a closely guarded secret. Arri does NOT publish any information regarding comparisons of their Full Color L7-C -vs- their L7 (Daylight or Tungston versions) Not sure why we are not getting exact lumens figures for many of these new Led luminaires. It is one of MOST annoying aspects of this move to teh new technologies that the manufacturers are simply refusing to give out any information other that (oh it's roughly like4 a 1K or a 650 Fresnel) Not very scientific ARRI. Please get on the ball Arri and publish precise metrics on these lights. If they are going to ask $3000 for an Led fixture, they at least can produce some detailed information about these lights. It's been a frustrating process getting a straight answer from anyone regarding these lights.
