[Yes] Currently I have 4 of the older models (DS-2DE3304W-DE), and this newer one is much better than those. Besides the slightly higher 4mp over the old 3mp, the night vision is far superior. I always use Color at night on all the cameras, and use Slow Shutter to lighten the scene, and I was surprised at how bright the Auto Slow Shutter was on this new model - it's perfect for my needs. I put it on a Scheduled Switch, Outdoors during the daytime with tweaked Image Adjustments (no slow shutter), and at night I have the Day/Night switch on Day, Indoors, with tweaks to the image along with the Auto Slow Shutter 2.

Another nice surprise was my 2017 iMac on Monterey using Firefox v103 was able to see the picture/video in the browser without installing any addons or web components (which don't work on the older models for Safari or Firefox, but do on Internet Explorer when using Parallels Desktop with Windows 10). The firmware which came with my new 3404 is V5.7.2 build 211009.

I'd love to replace all my older cameras with this one but that's a big chunk of change (lol). Anyway, none of my cameras are outside, they're all sitting on the windowsill looking through glass, so for folks who install outdoors will probably have even better results than me.

[2 / 2] Very clean night low light image compared to $200-300 range Hikvision cameras. The PTZ is fast while it does have to hunt a bit during zoom (~2 seconds). It also has ability to rotate 360 degrees without stopping. I have no IR lens flare at night as long the camera is not pointing at the wall to reflect the IR. It does however have lens reflections with high intensity sources like headlights.

I use all the internal camera settings from my PC using Chrome browser plugin to access the camera web GUI. A negative is that the plugin asks to start each time you boot your PC, so I uninstall the plugin after camera is setup and let the camera send content to my NAS surveillance. Even though Hikvision is on the USA ban list...I do not see why anyone on the other side of the planet would want to monitor my driveway for the trash truck. My firewall registers no unusual packets after you sent proper network setting confiugration.

I setup Smart events on the camera (line crossing, area, missing object, etc), as well as calendar of when to alert in order to enable the auto-tracking feature. It is working very well for me. The Auto-track feature also has a time window (Ex. 30 seconds) to track the object or give up if it has lost the target before it returns to default position. Lastly, I can adjust the speed for PTZ as part of the auto tracking. Very cool and smooths up the movement.
I like the camera and features for the price. My closest comparison is Axis and Bosch high end cameras which cost nearly 2x more.

Lastly, I suggest the junction box add-on as it has a 10 cluster of cables that come out of the back. Search online to see.

[PoE+ 802.3at] Excellent camera. Great vehicle and license plate recognition, except if a Jeep Wrangler without roof is passing by. Doesn't pick it up for some reason. Make sure you pair it with another camera, so you can get full pictures 24/7 of what the ANPR camera snaps.

[4x] We have just recived the LPR and it is as large as it looks in the image. It is quite big. Much bigger than even large IP cameras.

It appears very well built and it is quite heavy. We will be setting it up and using it very soon. I hope to update this review as there are not many reviews on high priced IP cameras on this site, or anywhere on the internet really. Ill be back with an update soon

[Metal] This is a good camera. Image quality is excellent, and it catches ~ 90% of the license plates on cars that go by. It works well in darkness, but you must set it up properly to get it to do so.

The downside: these kinds of cameras, being so powerful, have a myriad of menus and setup options. The manual, while better than others I have used, is just ok. I wish the Chinese vendor would hire a US proofreader (a technical one) to review such documents. There are a number of areas where things are vague at best. For example, there is a slider bar to set sensitivity (0-100), but there is no mention of what the numbers mean (is 0 sensitive or is 100 sensitive)?

If you are not familiar with these cameras it will likely take some time to set it up and use it properly. The web interface is pretty good compared to some cameras I have used.

So far, this is the best camera I have used for license plate capture. You can download a list of all the plates it captures into an Excel file. You can also download images. My complaint here is that if there are 3000 images to download, you can only do them in batches of 100 each.

All in all, this is a good camera, well made, and I'd recommend it if you have a need to capture license plates.

[Yes] My main reason for purchasing the camera was for the smart tracking that is offered directly from the camera and not needing an NVR/DVR. Initially, I setup the smart tracking via smart events and was having a ton of issues where the camera would zoom in too far or not track the subject at all. After speaking with B&H Photo support they actually got me in touch with Hikvision support over the phone the same day and they deemed the camera had a bad chip inside that was not allowing the tracking software to work correctly. B&H Photo replaced the camera with a new one and just wow.. The tracking is spot on and perfectly tracks now. I can't be happier.

What I'm even more impressed with though is the support that was provided by B&H and Hikvision even though I'm just a normal consumer and not a large customer.

Thanks again!
