Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the maximum height include having the center column raised all the way?

A: Yes, the maximum height of the fully extended legs is 50 with the center column at full-extension adding another 14 to get to the maximum 64 height. This is best as a travel or backpackers tripod for a mirrorless camera or DSLR with a compact zoom. I would classify it as light duty and perfect for micro 4/3 cameras like mine.

Q: 2. Can the quick release clamp be removed from the ball head and replaced with an Arca type clamp?

A: No, the quick release platform cannot be removed from the ball head. However, you can replace the head with Slik's Arca Swiss compatible ball head, the SH-180 DS.

Q: 3. I'm looking for metal spikes for 'SLIK Pro 700DXQ', not seeing this model in the compatibility list. Would they fit, and if not, and other spikes that would?

A: No, the spike feet are not compatible with the Slik Pro 700SXQ tripod. And there are no spike feet that are compatible.

Q: 4. Can be used with Sony FDR-AX43?

A: Yes you can use the Slik Sprint 150 Tripod for for your Sony camcorder but I would recommend getting The Magnus VPH-20 Video Pan & Tilt Fluid Head .BH #MAVPH20 • MFR #VPH-20. A Ball head is not a good choice for shooting video. The video head makes it easier to control and camera and get silky smooth panning for example.

Q: 5. Will this fit the Pro 780 DX?

A: no And you Don't Need it comes apart to go down to small size

Q: 6. hello; we are interested in the Slik 150, but want to use a larger ball head for a Sony A7s camera. Can the 150 ball head be removed and another installed?thank you, tom and marj green, los altos hills, CA

A: Yes, the standard ballhead can be unscrewed and another used. It takes a standard 1/4 -20 ballhead socket. Note that the tripod is rather light and might be topheavy with a bigger ballhead though. Just fine with standard head and mirrorless cameras with smaller lenses.

Q: 7. Will this column fit the Pro 5oo DX?

A: No Don't Need it !!!!!

Q: 8. do you have the rubber tips feet for this tripod 823cf?

A: I'm sorry, we don't carry the feet for the 823CF, you can go to Slik's website and search for L296 feet.

Q: 9. can this be converted into monopod?

A: Unfortunately no, it cannot.

Q: 10. With a camera mounted and the ball head locked into a vertical position, will it REALLY hold the camera in position or is there a danger of failure or breaking the ball head?

A: Yes, this will hold a camera with a lens in the weight limited listed which is 4.5 LB. I would not go over 3 LB just to be careful.

[90°] I use this on an older wooden tripod when I use a tripod at all these days. It's often with a 100-400 telephoto lens out in the field photographing birds. It's smooth and I rarely get frustrated because it impedes my panning and tilting as I follow the action. It's replacing an identical head I've used for years, but accidentally over-tightened and now it won't lock in place. So be careful about over-tightening.

[1.485 lb] Works great for putting a camera of modest weight on a table top or car hood to shoot photos. It is so compact that I use a long gear tie (the flexible wire thing) I bought elsewhere and attach the minitripod to the outside of my camera bag where it is always ready for use.

[Yes] Tryinh to get as low as possible with the standard colum was not possible but the short colum does the trick. Super easy to switch but I'll probably just leave the shorty on.

[90°] This product does more than at first meets the eye. I bought it to hold a flash on a table top. But if you want it to hold a camera and be sure the camera is super steady, the center column has a suction cup at the bottom which grabs the surface. So you have four points of contact with the surface.

I also discovered that you can use this tripod as a chest pod and significantly increase your ability to hold the camera steady. You do this by extending the three legs and placing them on your upper chest, high enough to bring the camera to eye level. When you hold the camera with both hands and press the tripod against your chest, the camera does not shake at all.

The tripod is quite light, so I can toss it in my camera bag with no worries. In addition, the tripod is very well made.

The only caveat is that bolt that attaches something to the ball head is not designed to keep a heavy object from rotating around the bolt in certain conditions. But this is to be expected with this type of mount.

[1.485 lb] Used this the minute it arrived. Set was simple and filled the current needs I had for desk top close range mini tripod. Will be looking a other products from Slik , Mono-pods and full size tripods. Works great with both my Canon cameras and video recorder.

[90°] I broke the head on my larger slik tripod, and spent the extra ten dollars to get this tripod along with the head. The head is solid, although it would be nice if the tripod itself was a little heavier.
