Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use it for 4x5 format sheet films?

A: Yes, you can buy an insert or fold them up with hair ties (search taco style ) and it works.

Q: 2. Can you use two MOD54's in this tank?

A: Yes, you could fit two MOD54s in the Multi Reel 8 tank.

Q: 3. how long does it take to fill up the entire tank with chemistry? i believe 5rolls of 135 would require 1500ml of it. do you need to compensate for time to avoid over develop negatives in the bottom?

A: It's only a matter of 10-15 seconds. I compensate about 5 seconds and have never had issues! I've never directly measured how much chemistry, but use a 2L kit and life is easy. I would guess its more around 1600ml!!

Q: 4. Does the multi 8 system come with the center column, or is it sold seperately?

A: Yes Aaron mine had the center column with it.....

Q: 5. So, does this come with the center column???

A: Yes, it does. You get the top, funnel, tube, and something you can put at the top of the funnel to agitate as well. The reels are not included. Sorry for the delayed response. I'm just catching up on my emails.

Q: 6. Does this kit come with any reels, or must they be purchased separately?

A: You have to purchase separately.

Q: 7. my reel isn’t fitting 35mm film, it keeps falling off of the reel when i try to use it?? i’ve tried this with ilford and kodak and neither fit?

A: Unfortunately, that does not seem to be typical with the Paterson reels and could be due to a faulty product or user error. I'd recommend practicing with a previously developed or unimportantly roll of 35mm with the lights on just to see if you can get it to work. If not, please give us a call or live-chat and we can figure out this issue together.

Q: 8. How many Millimeters should be used when developing 8x10" sheet film?

A: The Paterson Super System 4 Multi-Reel 5 Developing Tank can hold up to five 35mm rolls or three 120/220 rolls. The tank cannot be used for 8x10 or any sheet film.

Q: 9. How many ounces does this hold when full?

A: The tank requires 10oz (290ml) per 35mm roll of film. The tank can hold 5 rolls of 35mm film so it would require 50oz (1,450ml). The tank can also hold 3 rolls of 120/220 film that requires 17oz (500ml) per roll, so that is 51oz (1,500ml) for 3 rolls of 120/220 film.

Q: 10. what's difference between this and Paterson 4 x 5 Sheet Film Developing Tank with Reel?

A: Thus reply may not be helpful, but I will try -- Paterson tanks have interchangable parts. Between the parts you will need to buy and those you may already have, for 4x5 you will need a tall tank, a long center tube, and a 4x5 holder. The holder looks vaguely like a dragon and holds up to 6 sheets. I have loaded mine with up to 4 sheets in a changing bag. The tank holds twice the developer of a short tank (which is for one 120 roll of film.) If you have two 120 spools, you can develop two 120 rolls. instead of the 4x5 sheets.Other parts: a funnel to make the tank light tight, a tank top to keep the fluids in place, and a twist part to allow agitation. These are the same for small or large tanks and come with the tank.l

[Black] This was recommended by a friend to know when my fixer has lost potency. Seems to work well.

[0.01 lb] This chemical works as expected to determine whether fixer is exhausted. I depend upon it for paper fix testing.

[Black] I needed hypo check. I got this stuff. It works as advertised. I have nothing more to say about it.

[0.01 lb] Just add a couple of drops to your fix, if no precipitation forms-your good.

[Black] Just follow the directions on the bottle: drip a couple drops into your fixer and see how it reacts. Then, you'll know when it's time to get new fixer.

[Black] After I developed a roll of film in exhausted fixer I realized that I needed to test my fixer periodically. This product does the job, and at a very attractive price, probably less than a penny per test.

[0.01 lb] Easy to use. One less variable to worry about when processing film.

[0.01 lb] Check you fix! I use hypo check at the beginning of every printing session, and same for when I'm about to process film. Don't try to print with dead fix!
