Q: 1. What transformer is for?And will they work with, for example, this amplifier?Lanzar HTG157 3000-Watt 2-Ohm Monoblock Mosfet Amplifier (1 x 1500W RMS at 2 OHMS) (seems. I can't post URL's here :( )I need to install 4 these speakers in mono in a cafe for silent background music and I need a simple amplifier.

A: This pendant mount speaker is designed for distributed audio systems and not designed for the amplifier you have suggested. Here's an example:

Q: 2. Will this work for a yamaha HS7?

A: Yes it will. The Yamaha HS7 is 18.1 Lbs and the K&M 24195 weight capacity is 31.6 Lbs. Keep in mind this is a wall or ceiling bracket and will require you to drill some holes in the cabinet.

Q: 3. Will this work for Adam Audio A7V?

A: The Adam A7V does not have holes to be able to mount to the K&M 24195. It is made to sit on a flat surface.

Q: 4. is this for one speaker or a pair? They usually ship in pairs

A: The CM500i speaker is sold individually. This item includes a single CM500i speaker and mounting hardware.

Q: 5. How are they connected to sound system?

A: Integrated 20W transformer for 25 / 70.7 / 100W applications . Use plenum rated, 2-conductor 18 AWG stranded. These connect to 70 volt type amplifiers commonly used for commercial installations. They cannot connect to home av receivers or amplifiers.

Q: 6. What weight can these hold?

A: The K&M ceiling mounts can support a maximum load capacity of up to 55.1 lb / 25 kg.

Q: 7. Recomended 8Ω JBL or CROWN amplifier for 2 per channel 18C/T?

A: The JBL CSA 2120Z Audio Amplifier - 2 x 120W (B&H # JBCSA2120Z) that James recommended is a good option since it can be used as a 70V or standard amp and its power rating makes it a good match for use with two of the JBL 18C/T speakers on each channel. Crown's XTi 1002 (B&H # CRXTI1002) is a standard stereo amp rated at 275W per channel at 8 Ohms which could also work for you. As another option, the QSC ISA300Ti Commercial Power Amplifier (B&H # QSISA300TI) is a standard amp rated at 180W per channel at 8 Ohms and also operates at 70V for a constant voltage setup.

Q: 8. Can you use these speakers on a regular home amplifier?

A: The JBL Control 26CT are designed to be use with a 70v commercial amplifier. A home receiver lacks the necessary transformer found in commercial amps like the JBL CSA 1120Z Audio Amplifier; B&H# JBCSA1120Z.

Q: 9. What ceiling mounting accessories are recommended for this product?

A: According to Page 03 & 04 in the Installation Manual for the JBL CONTROL 18C/T, it comes with a C-Bracket that is compatible with most ceiling material. A tile rail can be used with tiled ceilings. There is also the JBL MTC-47MR Mud-Ring Bracket, available separately as BH #JBMTC47MR that can be used in the plaster for new ceiling constructions. You can find the manual from the 'Downloads' tab on the JBL product page for the CONTRL 18C/T, linked here: https://jblpro.com/en-US/products/control-18c-t

Q: 10. I paired these speakers with a Pyle amp (Model PTA4) and they sound bad. Is there an amp that will sound good with an AUX input?

A: The JBL Control 26CT - Ceiling Speaker with Transformer (Pair) pairs nicely with the JBL CSA series such as B&H # JBCSA280Z.

[110 dB @ 1 m] I used these speakers with JBL 19cs subwoofers for a weight room facility sound system. The total system consisted of 6 - 26c speakers and 4 - 19cs subwoofers. Wiring is made easy with the removable terminal blocks and passthrough wiring. Basically each speaker connects to each other in a line. This installation method reduces cost for speaker wire and labor involved with running extra wire. The terminal blocks have 4 wire holes. For the first speaker in the line will use holes 2 & 3 for the line connecting to the amplifier. Then a wire is ran from speaker 1 to speaker 2. Holes 1 & 4 from speaker 1 connects to holes 2 & 3 on speaker 2. This continues for the entire line. Be sure to properly power these speakers. Both the 19cs and 26c need 140 watts of power. In our installation we used 2 amplifiers splitting the system into left and right sides of the room. Since each amp had 2 outputs of 500 watts for each channel. This provided some headroom for the speakers. On both amps output 1 was was the high and output 2 was the low. Output 1 had 3 26c speakers and output 2 had 2 19cs subwoofers. These amplifiers had a built in crossover feature that splits the signal into high and low frequences which is essential for installing a system like this. A xlr splitter was used to convert the output from the mixer (1 xlr) to inputs for both amps (2 xlr). A cutout template is provided for cutting ceiling tiles. Once tiles are put back in the ceiling the installation can be done without access into the ceiling. The speaker is designed to push up through the cutout in the ceiling tile and clamps down to the C bracket (included). Make sure to have someone assist with installing, these can be insalled with one person but can be difficult for one person to lift, attach wires, put into place, and screw down holders. Overall these speakers work as expected and would buy again. They install nicely and end product looks professional. Nothing less to be expected from JBL.

[2.5 kHz] Installed 4 pairs of this in an auditorium of 60ftx40ft. Easy to install, sound quality is great. The wattage tap settings on the front make it easily accessible and simplify refining volume levels of the system especially when mounted on ceiling Also, the System Design Software on jblpro website helped a lot in validating speaker placement.

[128 W] Great small format in-ceiling speakers. The sealed and ported enclosure protects them and provides a consistent bass response, unlike open back speakers. 70volt or 8ohm operation for a wide variety of commercial and residential applications. and... they sound good!

[2.5 kHz] Very good quality, easy installation, just cut a hole in the drywall/sheet rock with the included template, connect the wires, push the speaker into the cut out, the three holding arms will spring into place and you are done. Very good back ground sound for a small speaker.

[110 dB @ 1 m] I searched long and hard for speaker mounts to use for a set of Monitor Audio Bronze surround speakers that weighed about 11 pounds. Although I ended up having to cut down the plate so it could attach properly to the speaker, something I would have had to do for several of the mounts I considered, it ended up working well. The mounts are very strong, they are small and do not stand out, they provide limitless angling options, and I could not be happier with the install. It is hard fo find the perfect mount without being willing to perform some fabrication for speakers that weigh what mine weigh.

[110 dB @ 1 m] We used this product in the ceiling of our conference room. These speakers are VERY loud for only having a 1-watt amplifier built in. You will NEED to purchase separately, the 24 volt power supply for EACH speaker in use in order to install these and have them function. Installation is super-easy and requires NO tools if mounting in suspended ceiling tiles. I highly recommend these.

[64 W] How we use this product: We purchased this product to use in a classroom (25'by 30' with 8 ft ceiling). We have a computer connected to this projector and wanted to pass sound through the projector to this speaker. Things that are great: Easy installation - Sounds Great - Sound dispersion of 120 degrees helps hearing it very well all over classroom - Looks very nice attached to ceiling - Sound can also be controlled by projector remote control and/or computer volume control - Volume control on speaker helps balance - Simple directions - Great price! One thing that we have learned is that we can connect several of these speakers together. I also asked the company about connecting a second speaker to this one - they indicated that it is possible to daisy chain up to 6 of these together. (Ask company support for more details.) To complete the install - you will need Bogen Communications PRS2403 24V DC, 300 mA Power Supply and either speaker wire (18 gauge is recommended) and a 3.5mm connector (solder or screw type) or one can purchase a cable with bare wire on one end and 3.5mm connector on the other end. This is used between the speaker and projector audio output. It is a great speaker and it is working great in our school classroom. I would highly recommend this product.
