Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are there filter threads on this camera?

A: The Bolin Technology N2-210X NDI|HX3 PTZ Camera does not have lens filter threads.

Q: 2. Can a button be programmed to both change the input source (i.e. camera) and issue a preset with one press?

A: The PTZCam Switch N8 8-Channel NDI Switcher and PTZ Controller (B&H# PTZCSWITCHN8) can have a button programmed by using a preset to both switch to a certain source and switch to a certain color temperature for that source.

Q: 3. How many watts does this camera consume? Which unmanaged network switch with POE is suitable to run 2-3 camera?

A: While we do not have an exact listing on how many watts this camera will consumer, if you were to use a Network Switch that is POE+ and offers 30 Watts per port you would have more than enough power for 2-3 cameras. The TP-Link TL-SG1008PE is a very good option for this.https://bhpho.to/2BlrS9e

Q: 4. it's possible to have the tally function through the ndi cable when using panasonic or sony ptz ?

A: Yes, it is possible to use the PTZCam Switch N8 8-Channel NDI|HX2|HX3 Switcher to control Tally and the camera though NDI. However, this depends on the camera model. The camera must have NDI HX3, or NDI HX3 support. Many older cameras only support NDI HX ( NDI HX1)

Q: 5. How are the video feed and PTZ functions restricted to authorized users on the network? Is there a password required to access the cameras?

A: Access to the camera is restricted by a username and password. It comes setup with a simple/standard login that you can update to be more secure.

Q: 6. What is quality of NDI Video over network? Is it full uncompressed quality or is there a compression of some sort?

A: NDI was made to use existing 1 Gigabit networks to allow easy adoption of the NDI without installing new cabling. NDI does this by using video data compression within its codec. This delivers 1080 full HD video data rates at nominally 100mBit/sec with latency low enough for professional production.

Q: 7. How loud are the movements of this camera? Would it disrupt a quite room?

A: They are not loud. We don't have numbers but no reports either of noise. Generally PTZ cameras are unobtrusive.

Q: 8. will this support ndi hx3?

A: The BZBGear Live Streaming 4K NDI PTZ Camera with Tally Lights & 25x Optical Zoom (Black) (B&H# BZA4KND25XB) is compatible with up to version 4.0 of NDI | HX. That includes all earlier versions such as NDI | HX 3.0.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with switchers other than NewTek? For example, the Blackmagic ATEM TV Studio Pro HD?

A: This camera has both SDI and HDMI outputs which will allow it to connect to any number of switchers, such as the ATEM TV Studio Pro HD.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with NDI'HX2 and/or NDI'HX3 cameras?

A: At this moment the PTZCam Switch N8 8-Channel NDI Switcher and PTZ Controller supports only NDI/HX2 cameras.

[0.05 Lux] This was purchased for a church to stream services. We wanted 3 angles and so this was perfect. We added in an ATEM switcher and off we went. These cameras are easily set up with SDI cables and simple ethernet cables. Word of advice, the controller MUST be a similar IP as the cameras to work. By default it is nowhere near the cameras IP range. The cameras perform well in our lighting which I expect with the lens quality on these. I do get flares from bright lights which might can be fixed in the settings. Our total cost came out to slightly over $5000 for everything. You don't need a computer if you get a high end ATEM switcher, only a good monitor or TV which we had laying around.

[NTSC] We decided to take a chance on these and have found they work flawlessly in a modern IP driven studio.

These run perfectly on POE (just one cable for everything) and VMix picks them up instantly.

Quality of the image is excellent, low light is good, zoom is very good, autofocus is good (great when you've got your lighting right).

We're looking at how to use NDI Bridge to put these in venues around town to bring live shows to the station. Still working out the kinks on that, but, if it works, we'll be order half a dozen or more of these things to spread all over the city.

[PoE 802.3af] We are thrilled with our purchase of the NewTek NDIHX-PTZ1 NDI PTZ Camera from B&H! B&H was wonderful to deal with - knowledgeable and helpful! The camera is easy to set up and use. Quality is exceptional!

[PoE 802.3af] I did a comprehensive review on YouTube going through the UI, Testing NDI latency, low light etc.

I've use this with Sony PXW-Z90v cameras (also a 1 sensor)

Pros:
4k
NDI requires just ONE cable!
Image Quality is better than the Sony PXW-Z90v (in low light)
Works with eCamm Live (Mac) via NDI (plug and play)
only 3 frame latency with NDI
Fine motor movements
Works with Mac Safari Browser
Has XLR Inputs

Cons:
I wish these devices had a camcorder battery (I could rig this to be totally wireless)
Does not have full NDI, so it isn't compatible with the Birddog Flex
Initial setup is confusing
Does not come with a lens cap (be careful when transporting) - two can fit in a Pelican 1637 case.

If you want to use NDI with the ATEM or any other HDMI based switcher, you should get the Magewell Pro Convert NDI to HDMI adaptor here at BH Photo.

My use case:
I put this in the center of a dining area for a fundraiser that provided almost 360 degrees of coverage without obstructing the views for the audience. I paired this with a Skaarhoj PTZ Pro controller.

Tip:
When you first plug it in via HDMI, you will need to set a username and password via the web browser before you can use the camera. You'll have to find the IP address!

I hope I can share the link to my overview video since it will give you a better perspective on all of the above! https://youtu.be/JTtYskJSrp4

[f/1.3 to 4.8] This is a very good camera, the preset set up is very easy to do. If you are going to hook this up to a computer, you were going to need some type of capture card and also a audio input source as well.

[PoE 802.3af] Needed a quick purchase for a temporary use, so didn't to spend big money. Used this for a large room with about 50 attendees and it came trough great. We have a nice speaker phone, and didn't realize that at first we were using the mic on the camera.
