[Fan] Great product

[2800 to 6800K] All around great light. Needed a light to work as a soft fill for my small church. Had to throw a distance of 37 feet and 21 feet wide. Windows behind the alter, so in the summer it is used to avoid silhouette. During the winter, used to create as a soft fill to keep light levels up. I use it with a soft box. Plenty of power. Only use it at about 35%.

[Yes] This quick release speed ring is very helpful in assembling and unassembling the soft box, especially when one has a broncolor soft box size 47 inches x 72 inches. The product is of very high quality aluminium. I have used it on my Broncolor Impact 41 strobe. I highly suggest that 2 persons should assemble it and also during the disassembling. It ceertainly requires 2 persons which ensures that you dont drop your stobes or damage anything around the strobes, especially if the soft box thqat i use with it.

[Yes (Included)] This power pack is great. Very responsive and easy to manage settings.

[Yes] As far as aesthetics are concerned, this line of speed ring appear to be machined by the folks at NASA. The design is flawless, the materials are space age... I never could have dreamed a speed ring could be so cool... Way to go Chimera. Takes a few tries to get the hang of how it works, but once you get used to it you'll never go back to the analog rings.

[2800 to 6800K] This flash head is very good. It is more solid than I expected. 
Only 2 complaints:
1. The fan stays on all the time, which can be annoying
2. When setting on a C-stand or Matthews stand, it does not sit all the way down to have a good grip on the baby pin groove.

[Yes (Included)] For the money this kit is excellent.  You get everything you need for a decent portable studio.  Even a case to carry everything around.


The lights are well built with an all-metal housing protecting the LEDs.  The metal ribbed backing of the housing also works as a heat sink, therefore, no noisy cooling fans.  The control knobs and buttons feel solid and operate smoothly and the display is easy to read.  And, of course, the lights can be powered by either AC or batteries.  Batteries have to be purchased separately.

I heard some bad reviews about the included stands and I agree they are not the best, but they are more than adequate to hold the lights and they fold up neatly in the provided carrying case.

The barndoors are plastic but work nicely and hold their position.  They also protect the LEDs during storage and transport.

Two diffusers are provided for each panel.  One slides into the panel and the other is bracketed off the panel.  They do a decent job of softening the light.  Both are removable.  To use the bracketed diffuser the barndoors have to be removed.  Kind of a pain but least the option is there.

Carrying case is very well padded with individual padded compartments for each item.  Carrying straps are heavy duty and stitched along the sides of the case.

The wireless remote control works and is a nice accessory.  It is a little slow in changing the temperature and brightness but if you need to remotely control a panel, it better to have one than not at all.

Overall, this is great lighting kit.  I believe since it has been out on the market for a while the price has gone down which makes it an even greater bargain.  I would highly recommend this kit.

[1x Reflector] Sturdy, well engineered ring. Quick is certainly the word to use. No more bent poles, long set up times, deformed box shapes, or unwieldly Velcro tabs to deal with. Going back to traditionally designed Speedrings just won't do anymore. Practice setting up and breaking down a few times before using it in front of a client. Rotation is silky smooth. Pole lockdown bolts will come out all the way out if you turn them enough.

Definitely designed to be used with Chimera Softboxes. Experimented a little by trying it with 2 different competitors boxes, and the poles were a few inches too long causing a lot of light leakage. I do use this with a Chimera Shallow Super Pro Medium Softbox and it fits just right with the pole lengths.


Chimera, please make an Octa version! I believe it will be a hit if it works close to as well as this one.
