Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this splitter work if it is adapted to #MOUCMA3 to plug into a GoPro 9 Black without a Media Mod 3.5mm receiver?

A: No. The Movo Photo UCMA-3 Female 3.5mm TRRS to Right-Angle USB Type-C Audio Adapter Cable (B&H # MOUCMA3) is not compatible for use with the GoPro HERO9 Black Camera, and the RODE SC11 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Y-Splitter Cable is also not compatible with the UCMA-3 adapter. You will definitely need to use one of the GoPro adapters - either the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter (B&H # GO35MA) or the GoPro Media Mod for HERO9/HERO10/HERO11 Black (B&H # GOMMH9B). The RODE SC11 is compatible for connection to the GoPro adapter, however, the microphone(s) or items that you intend to connect to the SC11 Cable may not be compatible for use with the GoPro camera and adapter. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat on the website so we can help you to determine whether the items you want use are compatible for use with the SC11 Cable or if they may only be connected individually.

Q: 2. Will this work connected to 2 Rode receivers (so I want to record 4 transmitters), to my Sony A7R5, (4 channels of audio)?

A: The RODE SC11 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Y-Splitter Cable is designed for connecting the mono outputs of two devices and sending it to separate channels on a device with a single 3.5mm TRS mic input. The SC11 will carry only two channels of audio. It can be used to connect the mono (combined) output signal from two dual-channel wireless receivers, like the RODE Wireless GO II Microphone System, to the mic input on a camera such as the Sony a7R V Mirrorless Camera. The audio carried by the cable will have the combined audio from one system on the left side and the combined audio the second system on the right side.

Q: 3. Can this cable connect the output of a Rode Wireless Go 2 Receiver to 2 mono XLR inputs with VXLR, VXLR+ or VXLR Pro adapters?

A: You can use the RODE SC11 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Y-Splitter Cable with two RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapters (B&H # ROVXLR), but a simpler and less expensive option would be to use a cable like the Kopul Y-Cable with 1/8" TRS Stereo Mini to 2 XLR Male Connectors - 10' (B&H # KOSMYCM2XM10).

Q: 4. Will this cable work in reverse? Stereo output into two mono sources? I want to split the L R output of my Zoom F6 into separate G3 transmitters for a camera hop.

A: Yes, this cable would work in both directions, so you could take a stereo source and separate it in to two mono signals, left and right. .

Q: 5. There is a bump in the cable. What is it for?

A: It is a capacitor that helps eliminate any interference/noise picked up along the cble.

Q: 6. Would I be able to record two separate audio tracks with the Sony UWP-D21 and the Rode Video Mic Pro+ using this splitter?

A: Yes, the Rode SC11 could be used to combine audio from these two sources, or any other single-channel audio devices with a 3.5mm output.

Q: 7. Tried using with Rode Wireless Go mics, but sounds is only being picked up from one mic (black side). Is there any way to fix this?

A: This cable : Rode SC11 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Y-Splitter Cable (10.9") BH #ROSC11 Is a "Mono to Stereo cable". It is designed to take two Mono signals and split them to the Stereo input of a camera If you do not have two, discreet or independent Mono signals, fed into the two 3.5mm connectors, separately, as Mono signals into each connector, you will NOT get both Left and Right to the destination.

Q: 8. I bought this to use with Tascam DR-40 and Audio Technica AT8024. The input level is too low for recording even with maxed out preamp level. How do I use this combo? Is this adapter right for AT8024?

A: The Tascam DR-40 only accept mic level devices via its XLR inputs. This adapter is incorrect. To connect the AT8024 in mono to the recorder, you would require an XLR adapter such as the Kopul A-XMMF. To use the mic in stereo, you will need a stereo mini to dual XLR Y cable such as the Kopul SMYC-M2XM06 and then an additional 3.5mm stereo turnaround adapter to connect to the mic. See the Hosa Technology GMM303.

Q: 9. Would this cable work with connecting an UltraSync One to a bmpcc 6k? Then, to confirm, I would need another UltraSync One connected to a Zoom F8n, which would utilize the BNC to Atomos LTC? Thanks in advance.

A: Yes, the Atomos LTC to Right-Angle 3.5mm Mic-Level Timecode Cable will work to connect an UltraSync One to a BMPCC to send timecode, then you can use a cable like the Atomos DIN to BNC Timecode and Genlock Cable for UltraSync ONE (B&H # ATOMXCAB01) for the Zoom F8n. Once the UltraSync One is synced with the device, timecode is embedded in the recorded files and can be recognized by industry-standard software and NLEs (non-linear editors).

Q: 10. This is for connecting my pocket wizard to my Profoto light. I usually use the PocketWizard MM1 Flash Sync Cable Mono Miniphone to Mono Miniphone but they are back-ordered. Will these work?

A: This Tentacle Sync Tentacle to DSLR 3.5mm Mini-Jack Cable (Right Angle 12") BH #TEC07 is a stereo TRS cable and is not electrically configured like a mono TS cable would be. Here is a 16" flash sync cord cable: Nisha Miniphone 1/8" (3.5mm) Male to Miniphone 1/8" (3.5mm) Male Sync Cord (16") B&H # NIFSC163535 MFR # FSC163535

[0.18 lb] This splitter is working great. I have used the XLR to 3.5 jack on my camera in the past. Now I leave my XLR adapters in both channels on my Canon XF-400 and XF605 on my camera and use these. Easier to connect and disconnect. Also gives me two channels for my Rode Go II wireless mic.

[0.18 lb] I am a fan of Rode products. Before Rode produced this one I was using another brand which was also fine, but having a cable produced by the same company makes it much reliable and mind free :)

[0.18 lb] For anyone who wants to record from multiple audio devices (i.e. I use my RODE wireless GO II setup as well as a shotgun mic), it's so helpful to be able to hook up your camera device to two of these audio settings with a simple solution: this TRS Y-Splitter Cable. It's not too long, but also not to short so that it's causing tension on the cable. It's also compatible with all TRS (2-ringed) 3.5mm audio cords, and you can easily get a 2.5 mm converter if you're having to plug into a smaller audio jac (I just purchased this https://www.bhphotovideo.com/find/write-review.jsp?sku=488047&is=REG&token=HCClXiVKkCtTq1pR%2FQo303k4sjbsgH6%2FcIaX3xHAakwHYY6BwWRLIUk5wNkTrbrN5CbmuaaO6t5s%2FTSdsv9o6jzf523SML8%2BPlUr3YOGe5hc3xlPU%2B3dSOkazRDLw551dXSQg4MElFrjrjqIAuhrGA%3D%3D&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=PowerReview&utm_source=PowerReview%20201118&utm_content=Retail&utm_term=review-item-488047-write&sc_src=email_17438&sc_lid=1801497&sc_uid=tDVTQI3VYL&sc_llid=5684&sc_customer=F340E188F4C5D0EB3913032488788B84174D498AD21CAEFE350791F6BE6D345B&utm_medium=Email%2017438&utm_campaign=PowerReview&utm_source=20220216_1809_%28Emarsys%29+Power+Review+Domestic%2020220216&utm_content=utm_content=Retail&utm_term=Write+A+Review&encEmail=F340E188F4C5D0EB3913032488788B84174D498AD21CAEFE350791F6BE6D345B ) Happy recording!
