[1 RU] This unit has just the right amount of features at a great price. Love having both HDMI (2) and SDI (4) inputs. Love having the built in screen plus outputs for multi, pgrm, and aux! Having one down and one up stream key plus the extra logo/bug key creates flexibility. Two audio inputs plus the one main output make it easy to integrate equipment or with other audio systems; would have preferred XLR connections, but good 1/8 TRS adapters work just fine. Unit can stream by USB-C tethering or RJ45 direct to host. The unit easily mixed inputs of differing resolutions, and broadcasting or recording at 1080p60 is more than adequate. If you don't need 4K, this is a great piece of gear to have. The only con I found was when streaming by USB-C tethering, you cannot record to the CF on the unit. You have to record on the device you are tethered to. Very happy with this purchase.

[2"] We have an outdoor live location that is transmitted back to our newsroom via fiber circuit. This switcher allows me to keep an HD signal generator (Maxtron) running so the control room can check on the circuit before deploying a crew. When the camera is plugged in it switches to that source automatically and resumes the test signal as soon as the camera is powered off. The unit has been in a weatherproof outdoor enclosure running continuously for two years with no issues so far.

[SDI] I am an independent producer, shooter, editor, scriptwriter, etc. I shoot a great many interviews and have, as of late, been reducing the size and weight of the gear I have to lug around. For the last year, I have been lugging around a TV set I bought@. It was cheap and I really only needed it for positioning of the interviewee. I had to bring power blocks and stingers to run the TV set. Now, with this hot little monitor, I not only get great positioning, outstanding quality of image, and other features (some of which I don't use), it also runs forever on batteries. Before I purchased it, I read some of the reviews. I must say that I could find none of the problems other people say they had. I think most of those other reviewers preferred to open the package, turn everything on, and, then, when it wasn't exactly what they expected, tried to read the instructions. I read them first and the unit is great. I have compared it with other units that cost four times as much and I can't tell the difference.

[DCI 2K at 30] We figured we are buying a PTZOptiocs, we should buy their cables. Glad we did, its a nice cable. I just want something that works well and this fits the bill.

[1 RU] Great cable. I pulled it through the ceiling and into my racks from a Aja DA and it performed perfectly. No damage pulling it over and across rough ceiling beams. Blends into my white walls nicely until I have time to fish it behind the drywall. For now it's perfect.

[SDI] These exactly as stated. Plugged them in and was up and going in minutes. Have bought several video, audio and lighting products from here and the website is always so easy to use and track the packages. Will be back!!

[SDI] We needed to produce a last minute Facebook livestream. Trusting Blackmagic brand from previous experience, we ordered both the ATEM Mini Pro and this 5 Video Assist. Short learning curve, easy setup, and the show went off without a hitch. Both recommend and endorse.

[1 RU] Excellent features for the price. I never know how much difference a field monitor would make in our production quality. This unit has false color which aids focussing; wave form and histogram views to aid the lighting set-up up front so less effort is needed in post. Unit comes with a sun shield for outdoor use and has a variety of mounting options. It can be mounted on top of a DSLR with the hot shoe mount or on a stand or tripod. Multiple inputs formats can be used although I only use the HDMI input. I use a separate HDMI selector switch to enable multiple cameras to use the same monitor which facilitates camera matching.
