Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a video guide for setup and takedown of Lastolite Panoramic Background (13', Chromakey Green)?

A: Trial and error will help you figure out the best way to handle it. Hint - lay each section on the floor and crawl around it to assemble/disassemble. Use velcro straps to secure each section before putting in the bag. Folding it up is rather like refolding a map!

Q: 2. Is the fabric flame retardant?

A: No. Please review what items we have in hand. https://bhpho.to/3BNp0nA

Q: 3. What's the diameter of the frame tube?

A: As per Manfrotto, the frame included with their Panoramic Background is 1" in diameter.

Q: 4. If I'm using it for video, and have an led main and hair light;1. Is it possible to get enough light from led lights inside the background? 2. Wouldn't there be a spill issue?

A: To use the green screen most effectively, it would need to be lit independently from the subject.

Q: 5. Can the angle of the panels be changed (IE setting it up at 90 degrees)?

A: Although the angle of the panels can be set at a 90° angle, this would cause the frame to collapse.

Q: 6. Does anyone know what the clip size is?

A: The manufacture does not list the specific size of the clip. But it seems to be approxemelty 1 inch.

Q: 7. How do I attached the paper to the counter weight?

A: Honestly, I found this item to be a royal pain in the neck and I returned it. I found it much easier to just use some clamps on the bottom edge of the paper. Even when I was able to get the paper in the counter weight, it would buckle and wrinkle. I haven't found any other product that did the job.

Q: 8. How challenging is it to control wrinkles with this backdrop over the 6'x7' HiLite?

A: The cover stretches taught over the frame on the Hilite. If you check the video in the overview tab at the bottom of the page you will see what it looks like after you do. If you run into creases they can generally be easily released with a clothing steamer.

Q: 9. I heard from someone that this background is opaque. I also read on your site that there is no need to relight the background, leading me to believe that the lighting from behind it will light it evenly and sufficiently. Please shed light on this contradiction...?

A: The HiLite Bottletop Cover is a cover that fits over the Hilite and is not translucent. Lastolites site recommends to not light it from behind so front lighting will be needed.

Q: 10. Can you attach a background on the front and the back at the same time, allowing fast switching between colors by flipping it around?

A: No.

[Proprietary] I have 5 with greenscreen and 3 with black. The green makes the light so even and super easy to key. The black can be shaped to get a 2 camera shoot and the stuff looks fantastic! NEVER any wrinkles!

[1] I have the manfrotto ezysframe vintage background Pewter, I also have concrete, tobacco and olive as well. I cannot tell you how important of a purchase this turned out to be it is my most used background very durable quick to setup and take down; very light weight and I discovered by turning by nanlites rgb tubes onto the background produces an amazing gradient. I hope to add crimson and aubergine to my collection.

[Polyester] I bought this on sale and am pleased with it. The cover clips into place stretched tightly with no wrinkles. You definitely need the support arm or some other way of holding it up securely.

[1] Wonderful bargain, as the collapsible metal frame alone is worth the cost paid. You will need a fairly large space free of clutter to connect the frame that is much larger than it appears in the carrying case.

The backdrop stretches nice & tight via clips over the metal frame. Thus, no problem with wrinkles that can be an issue when using other backdrops.

Took about 25-30 minutes my first time putting the frame together and clipping the backdrop on frame after mistakenly clipping the vertical side horizontally. The material is much lighter than a hand painted backdrop would normally be. Minor drawback is light source can seep through from behind if one is shooting away from a wall or strong backlight source. Lightweight easy to pick up and move throughout the studio.
