The large hole Rycote Super-Softie Wind Shield for Shotgun Micsfeatures an aerodynamic shape and surface structure made from the company's 3D-Tex material, which allows for attenuation of wind noise with acoustic transparency. [1] Though I haven't taken this on a gig yet, I live in a very windy area and was able to test it out with my Sennheiser MKH 50. The build quality is very solid, and the design is great. I had researched it a lot before buying, and it completely met my expectations. Glad to have this addition to my kit. 5

[0.5 lb] I bought this to shoot my video guitar lessons outdoors using my Sennheiser shotgun mic. On my first outing the audio turned out perfectly even with the wind. I believe this is pretty much the same product that Rode markets under their own brand. I liked the fact that the hand grip comes with a built in mic stand mount. I don't think this is true of the Rode. I believe you have to buy and adapter with that one. This was a big factor for me in choosing the Rycote. 5
